This parking is fantastic. All dog owners are extremely respectful and keep a close eye on their pups. Every time we visit there is a large community of people chatting it up. The environment here is genuinely great to be around. There are other benches to sit at besides in the center of the park. The area is vast with multiple poop bag stations as well as 2 water stations. The place is so big sometimes I'll lose my dog behind the trees. There's a bunch of trees here it almost feels forested going towards the back section. Dogs do tend to dig around and will leave some pit holes. My dog is notorious for crawling into them, especially when they have water.

Nice park friendly people well maintained wild they build the new park I can't wait. Generally fairly busy all hours.

Great dog park! Kai loves it here, the big dogs have such a huge space to roam! One thing I can't get over IF YOU HAVE A SMALL DOG, DONT BRING THEM TO THE LARGE DOG PARK! I have so much sympathy for the owners and dogs that get attacked but there is a reason they are separated. You blame the owners but it's also your fault for now following the #1 rule. Also clean up after your dog. It's gross. Let's keep this area clean and healthy for our doggos :)

Lack of consideration from park goers. Multiple large dogs in small dog area. A large poodle kept snapping at my small Yorkie multiple times, for that reason we left. Just keep in mind if you come here people do not follow rules.

Overall this park is great to visit and socialize your dog. The large dog park is massive with different areas and terrains for your dog to roam around. Everyone was super friendly and mostly aware of what their dogs were doing to ensure minimal confrontations. There are a few shaded spots with benches which is really nice during the hot summer. The only con is that not all owners clean up after their dogs, but that's going to be the case at any dog park unfortunately. The entrance can be confusing as there's a busy recycling center next door that uses the same entrance. It's a one way loop with 2 lines, the right side is for the dog park. Left side is for the recycling center that usually has the line out the entrance you can skip!

This is the place to be for dog owners in Irvine. Large area for the smol ones and and even larger area for the big bois. I've only ever had an issue once here w another corgi dog owner. His dog was actually aggressive and harassing multiple other dogs. I had to give a shout out to see who the owner was....ofc it was some guy not even paying attention to his abusive dog behavior. Otherwise everyone is pleasant and the dogs have a lot of area to free range. They usually have little pools for them to jump in during the heat and this place is upkept really well. I like how lush the grass is! Plenty of shade to sit under too

It's sad what's happened to this place. It's a perfect example of what's happening to our great country. NEGLECT. This used to be one of the best dog parks in Orange County, if not the best. And you can tell now the city of Irvine had completely abandoned taking care of it. There's mud and dirt everywhere, they run out of poop bags so that you have to watch out wherever you walk. And half of the dog owners here shouldn't own dogs. The only positive is parking, which is excellent. Absolute dump! Beware.

After 2 years of consistently coming here I have decided it's for the best to retire because you truly always put ur dog under the risk of something bad happening. I understand it's a public dog park (which is the problem lol) but it doesn't mean you as an owner should be careless of your dog's behavior and the risk you're putting other dogs at the park. A lot of owners find it funny or think it's a playful behavior when their dog is barking, suddenly jumps on other dogs but it rlly is not. I have given up educating people about this bc the owners have no brain to use. I know it's very convenient to take ur dog here to run around and play and it was rlly hard for me to give that up but please find alternative ways of entertaining your dog (long walks, hiking, runs) it is not worth your dog either getting brutally attacked or potentially catching a disease. Take care!

Very nice dog park with small dog and big dog areas. It's huge and for the most part clean. Theres poop in the corners where the dogs go and owners look the other way, but overall a clean park for your dogs.

This dog owner's dog attack other dogs and ran away today . Police is called . I believe it's not the first time his dog did this .

Generally a good park with friendly dogs - but had a bad experience a few times with a very rude pomeranian owner. Will likely not go again.

I love going to the dog park, plenty of room at this one for your dog to run around and play. Forgot to take pictures this time!

Ask the Community - Irvine Central Bark Dog Park

Is it acceptable to bring our medium-sized dog into the "small dog" fenced area? I ask because our dog is sensitive to larger dogs.

I understand the dilemma! We have done it, but we always kind of explain to the people in there at the time. You will occasionally get a jerk who doesn't think you should be in there, but we've fund it rare. If your medium size dog causes any… Read more

Can I bring a doggie stroller inside the small dog enclosure? My pup gets tired and likes to jump in while he gets his second wind.?

There's no rule against it last I checked

Is the park open during the quarantine?

I have a friend who just went, so...yes. It's open now (must wear a mask).

What's the best time to go where there's the least amount of people?

We usually go in the evening after work and, there is always a good amount of people.

What type of agility training equipment do they have here?

    The grass....(there is none)

Why does it say that the park is closed on Wednesdays?

They are closed every Wednesday for maintenance & clean up.

There were also plenty of poop bags, trash cans, and even water bowls for the dogs (Pasadena doesn't have that).

It's just me and my small(15 lbs) dog. He's extremely chill, friendly, and we've never had any problems at any other dog parks. When we tried to get in, there was a dog barking and sniffing at the gate where you walk in. She didn't seem too aggressive but I didn't want her to get out, so I waited for the owner. The owner came over and called her name, got them away enough so I could open the gate and walk in. I was kinda distracted and starting to take my dog's leash off when the other dog lunged, barked, and snapped at my dog immediately after we entered. My dog was whining and scared, I had to pick him up physically and bring him more into the park because there were so many dogs surrounding us and no one was stepping in. Thankfully, he wasn't hurt so I decided to stay. The woman left right after and she talked with a gentleman on the outside of the gate. I heard her say something like "I'm always worried about new dogs coming in" and "She can sense my stress" implying her dog has reactivity issues. And she was expecting something to happen but didn't physically pick up her dog. It's an off-leash public park so dogs should ideally be comfortable with new arrivals. My dog was chill and friendly the rest of the time, but I followed him because I felt the other owners being very inconsiderate. Then another dog consistently followed my dog and tried to hump him and I kept having to get in the middle. This dog was significantly bigger than mine and I could tell my dog was uncomfortable but the owner sat on the bench and did nothing. This was honestly when I grew too frustrated and decided to leave. I also noticed a large dog jump over the fence into the parking lot while I was there. The park itself is clean and spacious, but supervision and owner awareness seemed inconsistent during my visit. I may return at a quieter time, but small-dog owners may want to stay especially alert.

I have bumped into a few very rude poeple but they were from other cities. I am not sure why that is. For the most part, the visitors are respectful and clean. The park is well maintained and has special designated street parking on Avocado. I am a fan!
