Fields recovered the data and saved it to an external drive and sent me my original drives back. In the end, I got what I paid for. Now the rest of it... don't pay for expedited service. I did and I still had to wait 5 weeks to get my data back. They told me it was the drives fault and they had to use a second set of parts to get the drive to read. This was after the 10 business days of the expiated services of course. I had to frequently email the company to get updates. They are not good w/ keeping you updated on their own. They did respond to email within 24 hours, most of the time the same day. They are really persistent with making sure you pay them thier money, will call you every hour if you need to make arrangements to get some money together. It was expensive. The website estimates... forget that. 3x the website estimates, easy. They have a charge for everything. The cost is non-refundable, even if they can't recover your data. It feels like a gamble when you make the deal, but for some, the data is worth it. In my case, it was worth it. Some of the data recovered was gibberish. Most of the pictures were intact but some were put back together in the wrong order. Like the data was puzzled together just any old way. But that is because of the raid failing. The data is paired on 2 drives and one got corrupted. That isn't Field's fault, just telling you what I had happen to me. Almost all of the word and pdf and excel documents were intact tho. Nothing had the original names on it, they give you back raw data. All the files are just simply numbered names and the folder structure is gone so all the files are just all lumped into one raw data folder. You'll have to go through each and every one and rename them. That was a pain, but again, the data was there for the most part. So there you have it. The good and the bad. These guys are expensive but the data was worth it to be recovered. If you want my advice, pay for Crashplan or Carbonite data backup service. It's way cheaper than data recovery!! You have been warned.

Title: Paid $2500.00 and Got Nothing in Return…read more I am giving this company one star only because there is nothing lower and this will not accept my post unless I select at least 1-star. My situation is almost identical to what other disappointed customers below, except my cost was $2500!! I was told the platters and the data were okay and that only the heads were damaged and that they should be an easy fix. After I paid the $2500, I feel I was strung along for approximately three weeks, they then informed me they had given up and would be shipping the broken drive back to me and would not refund a single dime of the $2500 I had paid upfront. I'm extremely disappointed with my experience with Fields Data Recovery, I paid $2500 upfront for what they claimed would be a "easy" full data recovery from my damaged hard drive. After weeks of waiting, they failed to recover any usable data and offered no meaningful explanation or refund. I trusted them to handle something very important and valuable, but I ended up losing both my data and a lot of money. I would not recommend this company to anyone. In my experience, they overpromise, underdeliver, and take no accountability when they can't deliver results. Joseph Daniels

My experience with Iron Mountain was unbelievably frustrating from start to finish. I requested my…read morestorage boxes at the end of January and received them on March 9th, a wait of nearly six weeks. The process was so exasperating that, at one point, one of their employees actually asked if I wanted to cancel our shredding service with Iron Mountain. I remember thinking, "What a wonderful idea, let's just cancel everything!" I cannot stress enough how little I would recommend Iron Mountain to anyone, especially for document storage. I would warn them that if they ever needed access to their records, they should be prepared to wait about a month and endure endless headaches. To make matters worse, our office hours are clearly stated on several of their documents (Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM), yet Iron Mountain scheduled deliveries for 5:00 PM on a Friday twice! On another occasion, they arranged a Thursday delivery for 5:00 PM, so we stayed open until 5:15, only for no one to show up. I have truly never been more aggravated or disappointed by a company.
