And Brian and his team saw me through a bunch of the chaos, answering a bunch of my questions, putting me at ease, and then - through the wonders of the US postal service - procured all of my data again. I was able to drop it off directly with Scott and know it got there okay (no damage in transit). It took 2 weeks, but I was more than fine with waiting. I did call a week in just to make sure I hadn't missed any contact from them, and they said that my drive with encrypted so it was a bit more difficult. I was super nervous but a week later, they called to say they were able to recover everything! It's a lot of money (minimum for fixing an external hard drive is $350-400+ and mine was ~$650 I believe), but COMPLETELY worth it. I'm so, so grateful to them and now need to figure out how to clone the external hard drive so I always have two copies.
