He painted it in 2021 as a thanks to his childhood neighborhood in the historic Sam Hughes district. Red brick and adobe homes line the streets here. Mature trees line the paths. It is a pretty and quiet neighborhood. I took my dog Gretel to walk the mile perimeter. It was a Saturday afternoo and the park was busy! Kids and their families were outside playing, picnicking, skateboarding A few dogs played frisbee. A homeless man was off to the side on the south side pleasing himself under his sleeping bag. I walked past two more homeless encampments along my perimeter walk. I used a portapot near the tennis courts. It gets cleaned weekly. It is a nice park for the neighborhood and a good leg stretcher for travelers coming through, but I imagine this place could be a little scary at night with people sleeping al fresco.

You do occasionally run across people sleeping along the trail and some unpleasant situations, but the loop itself is still enjoyable. It's about a nice 2-mile path that circles around the zoo, park, and golf course. Only a small portion of the trail is lit at night, but there are a few drinking fountains along the way. Overall it's still a decent place for a walk, bicycle or jog during the day.

Hey, they've been standing in the corner ,neglected, and he agreed to try it. What I love is you can park at the park, or any other on the route, and just jump.on. also you will see all age groups out here. People on 10 speeds, mountain bikes and some nifty elliptical kinds. I've seen strollers, skaters, joggers and runners and four legged fur babies. The best part is we all get along. Sure, some of us are slow and others are speedy , but it gives me incentive to push myself. The park and the others along the way have restrooms, water and places to sit and relax. It has given me more insight into all the neighborhoods in the area. Yup, still a newbie here I absolutely love this resource we have available and I can say I'm loving it.

This dog park checks off all the boxes but I do wish there was more shaded area. At the end of the day, a dog park is only as good as the behavior of the dogs and their owners. I've only had positive experiences.
