Also, given we are in covid, I must mention the gym was clean, Jordan was conciliatory to maintain social distancing when we had our masks off and everyone sanitizes their equipment thoroughly. My only business suggestion is to put some signage on the building because you have a phenomenal space I think is being overlooked by some. I moved to lowell and decided to try and choice fitness. It is a gem…read more During this time I also decided to work with personal fitness trainer Rich. For 4 months we meet twice a week. I came in with strong lungs from cycling, but lacked any additional physical strength. Taking a functional training approach I was able to gain of 6 lbs of muscle. For the first month I was a little skeptical as we were not working out with the rest of the gym folks(bench press, squat rack). Rich had me doing resistance training through use of my own body weight and kettle bells. Fair enough, I had no muscular foundation. After 3 months, I told Rich I wanted to start doing some of the heavy lifting. With my solid foundation we were able to incorporate some of the 'pure strength' movements. ie(bench press, squat racks, deadlifts). The workouts were physically and mentally demanding. Every time, I was drenched in sweat. I now have a great foundation of strength of which I will keep building on. Put in the time, eat clean, eat protein, see Rich and you won't regret. I would recommend the gym swapping out one of the many bench press machines for an additional squat rack.

I…read morework with people with disabilities and recently our agency signed up a group of our folks for gym memberships at Best Fitness. Because some of our folks don't use words to communicate and couldn't answer questions about their gym memberships, our staff supporting them called me for help when the front desk people at Best Fitness in Lowell couldn't find them on record. I spoke with an extremely helpful and professional woman named Taylor ("Like Taylor Swift but better" lol) who worked in their membership services department. She was very patient with us as we searched for our membership information for our folks and you could tell she wanted to help us out so our guys could access the gym. She was very helpful in her suggestions and tried everything she could to find their accounts so we could work out. She then said she'd add several notes explaining our agency and why the memberships were set up differently than most on our account. She also got us new key tags so we wouldn't be inconvenienced again. In our modern world, it's so common to get customer service people who are so overworked that they "can't be bothered" to take a few extra minutes to include people with disabilities. My thanks to Taylor and Best Fitness in Lowell for going above and beyond to run a supportive and inclusive environment!

I had an incident where there is about 15 minutes left prior to closing, instead of doing their routine of announcing closing time. This individual turned the lights off and on numerous times during members workout. In return this is a safety hazard for all members. Someone can injure themselves when the lights are off. I would not recommend this gym for anybody if safety is their priority!

The gym has every piece of top quality equipment you could possibly need for strength training and everything is in great condition. The gym is well laid out and there are never more than 5-10 people in the gym at once (many times I'm there alone). And you can't beat the 24/7/365 time open. The owner Paul is extremely friendly and even works out at the gym himself. He provides personal training at the gym and is extremely well informed when it comes to fitness. Overall, there really isn't anything to complain about. It's a great place to exercise for all ages/genders.

I am so glad I tried Choice Fitness. From the moment I walked in the door, I felt very comfortable here. The Manager saw me looking around and politely asked if he could help with anything. I explained that I was basically a novice when it came to weight training, but I wanted to try. I also explained that I had a particular training plan that another outside trainer created specially for me. Dave was so accommodating. He took me through each routine of my plan, showing me proper form, proper speed, and explained what muscles each exercise was working. He spent time with me on two separate days and went through all the exercises on my plan. I was really impressed by how friendly and knowledgeable he was. I never set an appointment for any of this. Just walked in the door. From what I've seen, this Gym is truly all about customer service. I'm so glad I joined. I only wish this 52 year old found this place sooner. His eagerness to cancel rather than address my concerns ultimately contributed to my decision to leave after being a long time member. Clearly, they are all about the profit. I am now looking for a gym that values its members and treats their concerns with respect.

Plenty of cardio and weights equipment, all functioning well, with plenty of duplication so you're not waiting for a machine, and a clean facility with music at the right level. The "extras" like towel service, soap and shampoo, and things like pools and saunas aren't included, but it's a "value" gym, and for my $30 monthly fee, I feel like I'm getting a great value. As for ending the membership, they are up front on sign-up that there's a two-year commitment or you pay an additional fee, so I wouldn't expect that to be waived. Finally, a shout-out to Kim at the front desk on weekday mornings, who greets each member by name and exudes positive energy to start the day. She always finds ways to spruce up the club between check-ins and is a great ambassador.
