I'm a first time home buyer and I did not know what to expect in hone inspection service, how much I should pay and which company to use... so I went with Iron Gate, who my realtor recommended. And their service exceeded my expectations completely. I needed to book inspection really quick, and when I contacted them they came back to me with a quote right away, and their email was very informative and thorough so I had a very good understanding on what I needed to do and what to expect. They were able to inspect the house the next day which I was impressed with. He was there early in the morning and was done with it when I arrived there for the consultation. He explained everything thoroughly and answered questions I had, and I thank him for catching signs of roof leak and some other minor stuff as well. Very thorough. He also prepared the report for me a few hours after that and this helped me tons to get the process move forward to beat my aggressive timeline. I am very satisfied with their professionalism!! read more

Christian did an amazing job inspecting a home for us. He was thorough and did a great job of telling us what concerns were a big deal and what was more minor. He has great expertise in older homes. From scheduling to report, our expectations were exceeded. read more

I hired Christian when needing to have an inspection on a home here in Indy. I was impressed with how thorough he was, and received the complete report within 24 hrs! He arrived an hour before we got to the home, which was nice so we didn't just have to sit around the entire time he was inspecting. He then took his time going around and showing us the major issues, and pointed out some other areas where we should keep our eyes on. He was extremely friendly and told us we could reach out to him at any time with additional questions. Due to some issues at the home I am using them for a reinspection and have no doubt that he will let me know if everything has been completed correctly as asked. It was easy to set up the inspection online. Every time I called I would get the answering machine, but they get back to you quickly! Next time I need an inspection, I know which company I'll be using. read more

At this point, we've received a cease & desist letter (via email) from this company's counsel, asking us to not only remove our original review, but also provide a written retraction -- which would, in essence, be an admission of dishonesty. We continue to stand by our original review as an accurate representation of our experience and feel it's unfortunate that a company, in response to a negative online review, would go immediately in the direction of threatening legal action instead of working towards a solution that could appease both parties. Again, we our original request was for a partial refund, not a full refund, because we believed it was fair the original inspector be compensated for his time. We later increased our ask to a full refund due to our frustration with not being able to connect with the company directly for a number of days. I would've considered increasing my review by a star due to the likability of the original inspector, but I can't just say "meh" to an experience where a company has attempted to bully my wife and I into silence. I am not disbelieving of others who have left positive reviews for this company, so maybe this was just an anomaly for them, but it's also possible they've bullied others into removing negative reviews. That said, I feel it's important that my personal experience remain on here for their potential clients to weigh against other reviews. read more

I have used Iron Gate Inspection for each House I've purchased. They are EXTREMELY professional, prompt and polite. I would definitely recommend their services to anyone in need. read more

This is the company you want. Christian went above and beyond! Found many issues that the seller (a new flipper) did not disclose or failed to properly disclose. While we loved the home, the defects were enough for us to question the workmanship of the rest of the home. While that sucks for the seller, we feel we dodged a bullet because of this thorough inspection! We'll be reaching back out to them when we find our next home. read more

I am a realtor and have used Iron Gate Inspection services over 100 times in the past 5 years. Mainly, I've hired Christian, but occasionally I'll get Craig for an inspection. They are, without a doubt, the finest and most diligent inspectors that I have ever worked with. I attend 99% of my inspections so I've worked closely with the team, and appreciate their honesty, candor, & professionalism. Christian spends over a year with each new inspector to ensure they are properly trained and experienced. You can't go wrong with these guys. The one negative review below doesn't fit my experience at all, and I find it hard to believe. read more

We hired Iron Gate to inspect a house after getting a recommendation from our realtor. What a great experience. This was our first time going through a home inspection, and the people at Iron Gate made everything easy for us to understand and were very thorough. The person who inspected the house even showed up an hour earlier than our arranged time to get started on everything. We won't hesitate to use them in the future. read more

We hired Iron Gate for our new home inspection, including radon and termite inspection. We had Nick Boese come out for our inspection, and he was thorough, professional, friendly, and followed all recommended safety precautions (wore mask, kept distance). Also, it was very easy to set up our appointment and get all our questions answered without having to talk on the phone - their staff is very responsive via email. read more

Not only am I thrilled with my experience, but it even left the seller in awe. Craig was fabulous to work with, he left no stone unturned. His attention to detail was almost unbelievable, and he has a keen ability to calmly explain and walk through issues while not alarming you as the buyer. I had a very similar and wonderful experience to what others have mentioned below, however Craig did find a major defect at the house that was causing a slow carbon monoxide leak. He made sure to let the sellers know so they could have the problem remedied while they continue to live in the house. Not many are willing to go above and beyond these days, but Iron Gate gets it. read more

YES THEY ARE THAT GOOD! With so many obstacles / variables out there when buying or selling a home. Lenders, Inspectors, Title company, Contractors etc... No matter how good I am alone as a Realtor - I am only as good as the professionals I put forth to work for my clients to ensure the highest level of customer care, experience, thoroughness, responsiveness and client care that I do to provide the best most experienced and detailed service. With that said I hesitate to write a review only for selfish reasons (I kinda want to keep them as my little secret--- ssssshhhhh be very very quiet hehehe). I never worry when my clients choose Iron Gate to inspect the home they are on verge of purchasing. I rest easy that my buyers are not only getting the most thorough and concise report; they are gaining a professional inspection consultant and team that is there to help and answer any and all questions. I have as much confidence while representing a seller and see Iron Gate is booked to inspect. You would think that a seller would be concerned knowing how thorough the inspection will be but quite the opposite. I know, sounds weird but the more information the seller has and how that information is dissected and translated through a refined report the better remedy for both parties? Thank you Iron Gate for all the work you do that only ends with my clients secure and happy with me! read more

Christian inspected my 118-year-old property earlier this year and was incredibly thorough -- even my realtor was impressed with the inspection report and noted "they typically aren't that detailed." I was living in Los Angeles at the time and while overwhelming (he found EVERYTHING!) the report gave me peace of mind that I had a solid understanding of what needed to be repaired. I can only imagine how frustrating it would have been to close on the house and *then* find all these issues. Highly recommended! read more

Best inspection company in town. I've used Christian and his team since I started in real estate in 2007 and highly recommend Iron Gate. Clients always rave about how efficient and detailed the inspectors are. They don't scare clients, but rather, explain the details of the inspection report so that client's minds are at ease and they can move forward. Whether you want a pre-inspection as a seller or an inspection as a buyer of a property, Iron Gate is the best company for both! read more

My absolute go to for a home inspection company in Indianapolis. Their crew members always go above and beyond for my clients and me. Andrew Stevens specifically went out of his way to go the extra mile to make a deal happen for my clients and me. Thanks again, your team is the best! read more

My company is Pro-Properties Inc. I will only use Iron Gate they are truely professionals, and always on time. All my clients tell me how impressed they were with there detail eyes and the reports. If you want the best then call Iron Gate! read more

I hired Christian Strnad for my pre-purchasing home inspection. He was more thorough than I expected from an inspector. Iron Gate uses a modern software program that produces an inspection report that leaves no stone unturned. With my limited knowledge of construction, plumbing, electric, etc... I was able to easily identify the items I wanted to address. Christian's consultation, initial and final reports were all conducted according to my schedule and requests, and results were received same day. Next time I purchase a home, I will undoubtedly hire Iron Gate to provide assurance. read more

I have used Iron Gate Inspection Services since day 1 and continue to recommend them. I began my personal sales business trusting them and never had one ounce of regret, I as well as my clients who have used them continued referring them due to their professionalism and attention to detail, and now I own a brokerage through a worldwide franchise and continue to recommend to my clients and my agents to use Iron Gate. 900+ transactions later, recommending Iron Gate every single time, and 900+ times of knowing that my clients received the best service available. read more

After using a couple of other home inspection services I started using Iron Gate Inspections 7 years ago and, they are the only home inspection service that I use. From the thoroughness to the easy to read inspection report they are the absolute best. Every client has walked away from their home inspection feeling like Christian made what could be an unnerving experience very easy, informative and educational. I recommend Iron Gate to all my clients, friends, coworkers and family and can not say enough great things about them. read more

I would highly recommend Iron Gate. They were very professional and thorough. Couldn't have asked for a better experience!

I love these guys. My realtor recommended them to us when we were purchasing a house. They did a great job inspecting the house. Very thorough. Christian did his own inspection and took photos. Then after that, he walked us through the house and told us what he saw (the good and the bad). We had a formal report within 1 business day. Everything was clearly laid out with the photos numbered and referenced appropriately. I liked that they told you the severity of each item. read more

Iron Gate has the best customer services! They are always there to answer questions! I have recommended them to all my friends and they feel the same way! read more

I've recommended Iron Gate Inspection Services to my clients because they are good inspectors and find things that other inspection companies don't find. When there is a deadline, they work hard to fit us in and provide a very comprehensive report that is easy to respond to. Their prices are competitive and they can do everything from wells, septic, radon, termite, whole house, pre-listing inspections, re-inspections and more! They are one of the only companies I know that will actually get on top of a roof to look it over thoroughly - not with a pair of binoculars! read more

Ask for Christian. Knowledgeable, thorough, precise, friendly, and an all around great person to work with. I can't say much more about him than other reviewers haven't already said, but I can say this: Christian is a guy you want to do business with. read more

I am a Real Estate Broker in the Indianapolis area and have been referring clients to Iron Gate Inspection Services & Christian Strnad for approximately 10 years. Iron Gate is my preferred home inspection company! read more

Iron Gate Inspections surveyed my home and wrote a report for a client. In this report they made comment and recommendations that were not to code and in error. They were unaware of the code differences between electrical and gas appliances to name just a few of my professional concerns in their work. It seems their recommendations in the home inspection is designed to support contractors in the local area as apposed to consulting the new home buyer with viable recommendations which reinforce the structure and value of the home. Too many comments layer other parties to give an additional expert opinions--this group seems to lack confidence and expertise to comment as experts on home structure and systems. I recommend you seek an inspector with broader expertise. read more
