I found MC2 Home Inspections on Yelp. I touched base with them months in advance and I was comfortable with the conversation. They responded to my message in a timely manner, answered all my questions and they weren't pushy about getting their services. I have a new build so when it was finally time to hire an inspector I decided to go with MC2. So glad I did. They were reasonable and the inspection took about 3 hours. It was a smooth process and Greg, my inspector, was awesome. He was VERY picky (which I love) and he pointed out things that I wouldn't have seen. Please do NOT purchase a home without getting your own inspection done (IMO). Greg was very professional, he came in with footies and he had the report done later that night filled the pictures, notes and suggestions. It was definitely useful when I did my walkthrough with the contractor. Building a new home is already stressful but MC2 made it a little easier. It has been such a great experience working with MC2 Home Inspectors. As a first-time homebuyer, I had many questions about the inspection process and Mike and Jeremy were so helpful to answer all of my questions along the way. I called to schedule the inspection the day before Thanksgiving and Mike answered right away and told me they had availability the Friday after Thanksgiving (quick turnaround!). Mike also encouraged me to attend the inspection since I could ask any question I wanted and really get to know the new home I was purchasing. Jeremy was such a wonderful inspector. When I initially hired MC2 to inspect a house that I was thinking of buying, the seller became quite nervous. He said, "I hope you realize that you've chosen the pickiest inspector in Indianapolis!" I took this as a great sign! MC2 did an amazing job inspecting the house. I was a serious buyer of a single family home investment property, having put $1,000 in earnest money down. The house was only 12 years old, so I wasn't expecting any issues. It turns out, the house was a complete mess, with the strong potential for mold as well. When I forwarded MC2's report on to the seller, he was so contrite that we backed out of the deal, and I got my $1,000 back. The seller even offered to pay for MC2's inspection report, as it was valuable that he will use it to do a full-scale rehab. I decided to hire this company after talking to and getting quotes from other companies. I talked to Mike who owns the company, and after that I felt comfortable using MC2. Mike explained what the inspection would cover, and what I should expect. On the inspection day i met Greg who was already at the site before i got there, and I was on time. The home wasn't in the state that we had both expected which was very disappointing and frustrating. However, Greg's attitude made the situation better. We were able to laugh through the inspection which made the situation less stressful. I had planned on just letting Greg do his thing because I didn't want to distract him, however, Greg asked that I follow him so he can point things out to me and I can ask questions. Greg was very detailed, and took the time to explain things to me and answer my questions. He also took the time to tell me how to maintain certain things. I received the report the same day within a few hours, and it was easy to read and follow, it also contained everything we had talked about while at the home. We needed a home inspection for a house we are purchasing, I contacted MC2 (GREAT name, BTW) for a quote and received a fairly competitive one. We wound up using another company, but didn't realize they didn't have the necessary credentials to perform a termite and WBI inspection to satisfy a VA loan. I called MC2 in a state of panic, Rebecca was simply amazing. She was so gracious and scheduled the termite inspection for the same day. A turn of events led me to doing the unforgivable; I had to cancel. Once again, Rebecca was forgiving and gracious. Used this company twice. The first time I thought they did a great job, finding mold which led us to walking away from a home. Called them again for the next house we were purchasing and things fell apart. The inspector missed extremely obvious mold spots, as well as a damaged structural beam that supports the back of the house. When asking them why this was, they claimed it was a big house and things get missed... if that's the case then why was I charged extra for the square footage. This caused a lengthy two month house purchase process which we had to walk away from because of the significance of the damage that was missed. read more

I just don't have a choice. I HATE leaving bad reviews but I was not impressed at all. First off I thought this was a local company but it turns out a sub-contractor shows up. That right there would have stopped me. The inspector was nice but missed 3 appliances that had been failing for quite some time. It was a very costly mistake. I did make an attempt to resolve this with this inspection company as many of them have a type of guarantee for several days after. I was told "you should have bought a home warranty. After being in my house for four months, I have had to spend significant money on items that should have been identified during the inspection. From a failed AC unit that resulted in needing a new HVAC, under the kitchen sink water damage, to bathroom floor being rotted from water damage, to electrical issues, to gutter and roof issues causing major problems.... I wouldn't recommend this inspection company. I'm sadly disappointed and have had to spend over $30,000 to this stuff. Huge upset and feel taken advantage of by this company. As a first time home buyer, I was very nervous about who to hire, what I was getting, and what to expect. I contacted MC2 Home Inspections after reading their positive reviews, placing a call to find out more about what the appointment would entail. The owner, Mike, took great care to answer all of my questions and walk me through aspects of the inspection. Our inspector Jeremy showed up right on time the day of the appointment. Prior to beginning the actual inspection, he walked with us all around the property to get a feel for the place, to get to know us, and to answer all of the (many) questions that we just couldn't wait to ask. When the actual walk-through (and bulk of the appointment) took place- I tagged along for all the details, and learned more about how homes work over the course of the next three hours than I ever thought possible. We received the completed report later that same night. There were over 100 pictures included, with comments and grades associated to all major and minor systems and components of the home. The information is easy to read, understand, and actionable. There is no doubt in my mind that I didn't just make a good hiring decision, I got lucky and made the best. When Mike answered the phone and started telling me about MC2's beliefs and how they operate, it immediately put and questions out of my mind as to whether or not they were the right inspection company for me. I wanted someone that was going to work for me, not any realtor. I have to say I was more than surprised! Jeremy Rogers was my inspector, and once again, I was delighted when I arrive at my new house 10 mins before the scheduled appointment only to find Jeremy already there and checking things out!! He has done 3 home inspections for us and we are impressed with how thorough of a job he does, cutting no corners and really giving you a sense of the good and bad of each home with the inspections. They were a bit on the expensive side, but Brian did an excellent job! I'm a first time home buyer, and had no idea what to expect. But after a 4 hour inspection, I knew exactly what was wrong with the house. It was good bones, just mainly cosmetic items that needed to be addressed. I had my report that same day. It had pictures of everything he mentioned, along with a note of what needed to be done to correct it. Makes things easier to relate to what he had told me earlier. It's just like a mini check list of things I need to do as a new home owner. If I ever buy another house (which i don't hope for lol), I will be using MC2 again. read more

We used Mc2 for a home inspection for a future house we are trying to purchase. We had great communication every step of the way with Mike upon scheduling and was told Brian would be conducting the inspection. Upon arrival Brian was there way before the time schedule and he didnt waste any time and got to work! This man is awesome! He is like the Bill Nye of Home Inspections! He was so enthusiastic about explaining everything about the house and we learned so much! We are going to be first time home owners and he put us at ease with explanation of work that needed to be on the house. He took his time and did a thorough job covering all areas of the house and didn't mind us at all following every step of the way! It was so great to work with him. It was a very invasive inspection as the sellers were still there, but he did not at all get in the way of them. Good thing they left because it was a little weird having them there.
