Our flight was delayed so we had some time to relax and enjoy some coffee and a sweet treat. Irish Meadows was located near our gate and it displayed some tasty looking breakfast treats. The line to order was very long but it moved fairly quick considering how many people were ordering specialty coffee drinks. I ordered a fruit scone and a latte. I added a slice of banana bread to share with the table and it was a huge disappointment. It looked great but it was actually very dry. So dry that it was left on the table and eventually thrown away. The scone was delicious and it went great with the latte. At the last minute I decided to add an Irish Whiskey Cake and a box of Kerrygold Short Bread Cookies to take home for my husband. The Irish Whiskey Cake had a wonderful combination of whiskey and fruit taste to it. It was lightly sweetened and on the dry side making it perfect toasted with a cup of coffee. The Kerrygold Cookies never made it to my husband. My son opened the box to taste them and they were so good that he claimed the box before my husband even knew that they existed. read more

Food is good but it takes a very long time to get! I asked for the chicken fajita wrap with no cheese and they told me it was already made. So all they had to do was heat it up. I waited at least 20 minutes for a small wrap that was just stuck in an oven. They are a bit overpriced but they do have alcohol, which makes it a little better. My stomach now hurts from the cheese but I have some wine. There are not many options here!!!! This airport sucks with food and drink options. read more

Okay airport food with Guinness and Carlsberg on tap. Really the only place after the US pre clearance. Had the seafood chowder with soda bread, cup was only half full and looked like something they had to microwave to heat up.. Still tasty for my needs but next time maybe I'll try something else just for better food volume. Saw some folks have the stew and it was in a nice bowl.. The soda bread was fine and the butter helped.. Be aware that with several flights going out the place is packed, and you may need to share a table and meet some new friends. When you order they give you a number on a stand and will bring you the rest of your order. They do have a Hop House 13 Lager bottle that is 500ml and a nice size, if you forego the draft Guinness and Carlsberg. read more

In a small airport, and a terminal with only two dining options, you could do worse than a little sandwich from Irish Meadows. While nothing of this harried dining experience evoked the serenity of its namesake, it was still a decent spot to grab a pre-flight bite. Seating is a precarious situation here-so be prepared to either stalk people looking like they are almost done, or get cozy with strangers at long communal tables. I ordered a tomato mozzarella basil sandwich here and it was perfectly adequate. They have a nice coffee and pastry selection too. Out of the two options afforded to diners in this area, I think I made the right choice! read more

Although called Irish Meadows, I saw no cows, or sheep, or grass. Not even in a picture on the wall. The food certainly does not represent anything coming from a meadow, unless it's cow patties. But seriously, why this name? It brings lovely scenes of Irish countryside to mind but doesn't come close to providing a lovely experience. Once you go through your second baggage security check and customs, you get this option on the main floor, or a coffee shop one flight up (that one offers the same soft drinks and sandwiches as this one) Heated food options are frozen and low quality. The pre-packaged sandwiches are what you would expect. There was pastry, but I didn't try any. I ordered a heated items, while my SO got a pre-made tuna and corn sandwich. He ate the sandwich, but didn't look like he wanted to. Ireland, what is your obsession with tuna and corn? We saw it everywhere. Ew. Just ew. Stop it. My heated option was delivered by staff after a rather long while and as it was deposited on the table I was told napkins and cutlery were at the counter. You just came from the counter. You couldn't bring any with you? Well, I am going to be sitting for a few hours, I could probably use a walk. I must say, this quiche is almost as good as I remember my school lunch being. The shrimp in there seems a bit 'off' but I don't eat much shrimp so fingers crossed it's just my sensitive sniffer. It was fine, really. Not a great last meal in Ireland, but it filled the hole. Two locations for this business sit right next to each other: one is a 'bar' the other a 'cafe'. You can get bottled beer and wine at the 'cafe' along with water, soda and a couple other choices. They did have two salads left in the 'grab n' go' section, but they did not look interesting to me, as well as a couple of yogurt and granola cups. So there are a few possible choices, but you won't find anything particularly appetizing. Seating is limited so if you see a table grab it! One person will have to stay and 'save' the table while the rest of your group go up to order. There was a young woman walking around with a cart picking up used dishes and bottles and wiping down tables so the area is in good shape. Although there are a few more restaurant options before going through security for the American flights, this airport really doesn't have great food options in general. Adding a 'made to order' sandwich counter in this area would be amazing. Are you listening Dublin Airport? read more

It's the only food option in the US PreClearance section of Dublin Airport, and it shows. Food tastes just like airplane food, service is even worse, and because they're basically the only dining option, hope you get there first and not before a few other flights want to board, or else you're going to have a long, long wait. That said, I will say the scone was edible. And not as terrible as the eggs. read more

Bad food, terrible service. That sums up this place. You don't have many options in the Dublin airport once you clear US CBP preclearance, so do yourself a favor and eat beforehand. We had an hour to spare before our flight, so we got in the long queue and waited about 10 minutes to get to the counter. Once we did, we ordered two cappuccinos and a tuna panini. We placed our order at just after 2pm. Our coffees came up straight away and despite being made by a professional machine, we're not good. Definitely not worth the price we were charged. I got our number and waited for our panini to come out. And waited...and waited... for nearly thirty minutes. Mind you, it's not like the person preparing the sandwich has to actually prepare it from scratch. They simply remove it from the fridge, take it out of a plastic wrapper and throw it in the oven. (No panini grill involved) I wasn't the only one waiting an absurd amount of time for a pre-made sandwich either. Maybe half a dozen people had to ask multiple times about their orders. Once I finally did get my sandwich, which had not only been sitting on the counter for who knows how long, it had been hastily shoved into a plastic bowl. A sandwich in a bowl. Are you kidding me? I paid €7 for a sandwich to have it shoved in a bowl for all the contents, of which there wasn't much anyway, to fall out. Brilliant. The sandwich tasted like a convenience store panini. Seating?....not a chance. A real stain on Dublin airport. Travel sucks and pricey food is the norm but at least make an attempt to serve your customers. Average over priced panini.... Bad bad bad bad coffee.... Sooo bad that I actually left it behind!! This place is only getting 2 stars because the staff are HILARIOUS!!! "Hellooooo how the hell are you doin?!?! Whaaaaa ya want to drink!?!??!" This was said to a bemused American by the Eastern European (and pretty damn cute) guy behind the counter. I was in tears with the laughter..... He was like this with everyone. I was just annoyed I got his colleague to serve me, she was awfully friendly but was not crazzzzy like this dude!! Gas! There was a Dublin guy passing out the panini's and he was all like... "Starrry bud here's yer sambo in all, nice one - see ya after bud"... Soooo friendly. I am sure the Yanks passing through here have NO IDEA what is going on. I loved it. Kept me amused for the couple hours I had to wait. Most annoyingly is that this is past US Immigration so you have no choice for food... This is the only place apart from somewhere even more overpriced upstairs for the same type of average food. It may have been the layout of the airport - but after being sequestered in the "US flight" area - this is the ONLY option for food. Upon walking up; you'd think it was a nice little sandwich, bistro type place. You're incorrect in this thinking. The sandwiches and all of their items are pre-made or pre-made and packaged items. They simply heat them for you for the "hot sandwich" look. None of the options looked fresh, reaching the counter I peered into the "cold" section - there was a plate of old pre cooked eggs with dried up cheese on them - I was almost tempted to order them because everything else looked gross - and there was no other option other than to raid the vending machines... alas I took to the vending machines. I ordered a beer instead and picked up some chips that they sold. The staff was not eager to please anyone, in fact it seemed like they were just waiting for all of the US flights to get out so that they could leave. I would recommend planning ahead and getting something to eat before you pass through - because this will be your only option in this area for terminals. read more

Tip: eat before you pass through US pre-customs! There are not many choices to eat around here. Panini's are good here. Read other Yelp review and I didn't bother looking to try anything else. I had the tuna melt panini, while my gf had the mozz, tomato and spinach --both very good. No complaints. For folks not in the know- if your USA bound, Aer Lingus's flight connects in Dublin, you will go through Homeland Security here,rather than at your final destination. This is good in the sense that it saves you from the hassle of having to go through security at the end of your journey, but there are some distinct downsides. The most notable of those is that after you clear security, you are deposited in a secluded sub-terminal, with very little food options. After an extensive investigation- I located 4 places in which one can procure food or drink- 1) the Ireland gift shop - which offers boxes of fancy chocolates, and bottles of whiskey and water, 2) a coffee shop that does not sell food 3) Two vending machines and 4) Irish Meadows. If you are looking for a reasonable alternative to Aer Lingus's infamous chicken curry - Irish Meadows is your only hope. Irish Meadows sells pre-wrapped pannis, a few different iterations of cheese sandwiches, 2 different types of savory tarts (sweet potato and french onion), chips, fruit, sodas, beer and coffee. I ordered one of the cheese sandwiches ("fresh" Irish cheese, pickled relish, tomatoes on white bread), a sweet potato tart (sweet potato base, a little feta cheese and TONS of onions), authentic Irish cheese chips, coffee, and two waters. The total came to $26 Euros. Things to note: 1) Do not under any circumstance order the coffee. It was single handedly the worst airport coffee I have ever had. It was burnt and loaded with coffee grinds. Irish Meadows does not provide milk or sweetener. I literally spit it out after one sip. 2. Staff will warm up any of their pre-wrapped pannis or tarts. The tarts come with a small side salad w/ balsamic dressing. At the pick up counter you can find mayo, relish, ketchup, salt and pepper and eating utensils. 3. The sweet potato tart did not taste anything like sweet potato, but was surprisingly not horrific. Don't order this however, unless you really like onions. 4. The boyfriend seemed to really enjoy his cheese/relish sandwich. 5. You must tell them that every single item is to-go, or they will assume that you want to eat it in their seating area. The seating area seats approximately 30 people or so. If you want to eat here, they will give you a number, and a staff person will deliver your food to you. 6. The service was very slow. I almost missed boarding my plane, and I got in line 30 minutes prior to boarding time. If you are in a rush - don't risk it. Last thoughts: Irish Meadows isn't great but it's a million times better than plane food. read more

Behind US Customs and Immigration's second checkpoint there is only one dining option. Well, two if you count a Toblerone from Duty Free, but for most people it's just the one. "Irish Meadows" serves the airport staples (bottled water, muffins, and pre-wrapped sandwiches) without anything particularly Irish or Meadow-y. The selection isn't great and the prices are higher than I would like, but given that their customers are legal forbidden from seeking alternatives by armed US Customs guards, I am grateful that they are not taking advantage. And they grilled my panini without me even asking. read more

Very overpriced here. It's the only cafe around by the u.s check in but at least there is something I suppose. Most of the food sounds delish written in front but it's all just reheated. The coffee wasn't great and the water was very over priced but at least we got some so we didn't have to plague aer lingus staff for water as you don't exactly get a lot on their long hauls. read more

This place is a dump and if it was not the only breakfast place near my terminal I would not have stopped here. Every single table is covered with food including the one that one of the employees is sitting at right now. One man dropped his coffee, when he went up to said employee to apologize she proceeded to wave him off and tell him to go tell someone else. They just came over and slapped a wet floor sign over the mess and ran a mop over it barely cleaning any of it up. Oh and there are flies everywhere... read more

I often use the express section here when I go through a couple of times a year so my comment relates to that only, a stool at the bar and if you are nice and polite they will serve you at your stool even though I have been told you are supposed to go back to the queue, which would be just silly. My usual flight is 11am-ish/later and because of what happens at border after 9.30am (hour long queue) I am through before then and sometimes have a wait for a couple of hours. It is better than standing in line for an hour for being 15 minutes later. Anywho, I know this place. The Guinness is good, the service is fine, the price is airport standard - I think that is all one can hope for. It can't crack it for the fifth star because I hate the prices at airport bars. It is also annoying when all the stools at the bar are taken but since stools at the bar are rarer outside the US I can forgive that. read more

Spectacularly slow service. They seem completely unable to cope with servicing far too many adjacent gates. On the other hand, the food is fine and they do a nice cup of tea. I recommend staying far away from this place. Because our flight urged us to do Pre-customs check in, we did it first instead of eating. Turns out when we popped out of Pre-customs all we had left for options is Irish Meadows. My husband ordered a fajita wrap and I ordered quiche. When we got served there was no quiche. When we asked the server, he said they didn't serve quiche, even though there was "quiche" written on their menu!! When my husband checked the receipt, the cashier hadn't even written it down. So I ordered a fajita wrap. My husband's was cold in some places and it tasted rubbery. We waited 35 minutes to get my wrap. When we went to the registre to see what was going on, they had forgotten the order. So we got a refund and got out of there. Thank goodness the plane had meals for us or we would have starved.
