This is an updated review several weeks after I visited for service. To keep it short and sweet, my…read moreAC went out. I took it to Phil's to have it fixed. I paid about $400 for the repair on the AC initially, which didn't fix the problem. I took it back and was quoted and ADDITIONAL $1,500 to replace the compressor. (That would have made this an almost $2,000 air conditioning repair.) Industry average cost is less than half of what they quoted me. I took it to another professional and had it done for $500, where they found another issue with the AC that Phil's either never mentioned or never found. I brought up my gripe with Kris directly and was met with hostility. The shop wouldn't communicate via text or email and instead responded to my requests for explanation of costs only by phone or in person, which I assume is because Kris wanted twist words to spin the narrative. To quote him, "Don't you remember me saying x, y, z." It genuinely felt like I was being gas-lighted and manipulated into feeling "wrong" for questioning their pricing and being upset that they charged me $400 for something I didn't need. I would never send someone to Phil's Undercar after the experience I had there. I'd suggest you avoid them like COVID-19. (Which their staff didn't seem to be bothered by enough to wear masks, by the way!)

Unfortunately, with the dirt and grease accumulation on the bolts and the fact that the pump was…read morevery very rusty, I also had to replace with new hoses and rubber lines a short time later, the fact too that when I initially had the problem and was low on fluid after the new install, all that was done by you is a fluid top off. That is why I went to someone else, lack of concern. By the way I had to do that another 4 or 5 times, it all appeared to the new mechanic, as I'm sure it would have to you, as it not being done correctly to begin with, I had to agree. In regard to the exhaust that was put on I appreciate the wheelchair discount I wasn''t expecting it, nor did I realize it, but Thank You! If you also remember I had to come back twice also within a short period of time, to have new welds put on, due to failure of the one weld that was holding up the whole exhaust tail section. If you also remember there were at least three exhaust mount points available to be welded, but weren't. It eventually was fixed, and for that I Thank You. The reason why I didn't come back to have you put it up on a hoist is because all the hoses are now replaced and the old greasy dirty bolts aren't greasy anymore because they have been cleaned due to the new repairs, also I wonder why the old pump was never shown, if it's for reason of core charge it could have been presented to me then returned for core reimbursement. That single thing would have answred it all.

While those items were done, many of my original concerns were ignored or only briefly looked at. Right after picking it up, my ABS and Traction Control lights came on. Within days the check engine light appeared as well. I had to bring the car back four or five times in just two months for the same problem, and every time I was told it was "fixed" -- only for the lights to return. I also asked them to fix a scraping plastic piece under my front bumper, which they promised to handle but never touched. To make matters worse, the check engine light came back on the same day I noticed the bumper issue was ignored. The lack of communication and accountability was unacceptable. I was rarely given updates, felt dismissed rather than taken seriously, and was left without reliable transportation while my car sat in their shop. After repeated failures, poor customer service, and wasted time and money, I have lost all trust in Tecumseh Tire Exchange. I'll be taking my business elsewhere and cannot recommend their services.

You may have to write notes on your own receipt for your own reference. He's got three of my cars, which he's taking care of very well. But when it comes to pulling out the records, he doesn't know one vehicle from the other. Or what work was done on them.
