I had the most amazing experience today at the office if Irina Rodriguez! I'm terrified of the dentist and on top of it I'm 7 months pregnant. I needed help with a tooth that was broken and giving me pain. After a few X-rays it was determined I needed a root canal and crown. The front desk explained everything to me as far as the procedures I needed and my cost share. Her staff was excellent from beginning to end! And Irina was so patient with me, I needed extra numbing and she was kind and compassionate the whole time!! I feel obligated to share my experience here to warn others about this dentist. After several long waits in the office (up to an hour), as well as random last minute cancellations that were poorly communicated, I was finally able to see Dr. Rodriguez for a cleaning. I was informed at the time, however, that my need for a deep cleaning had been denied. I was informed this in the dental chair as I waited for my cleaning and not before. So I decided to go ahead with a regular cleaning instead. Irina Rodriguez did a hasty and rough job. I've never experienced anything like it before. There was blood visible on her dental tools as she very quickly and roughly picked at my gums and teeth. It was nightmarish. Of course the lesson here is to read and listen to other's yelp reviews as well as heeding the warning signs of poor communication and long wait times. If you are reading this, go to a different dentist elsewhere - oxnard, ventura, anywhere. She is thorough, cheerful, and never pushes treatments that aren't necessary (as other dentists I have known do). I had a "deep" cleaning and it was just like a regular cleaning and I'm sure they charged the insurance company the deep cleaning price! I've had deep cleanings before and this lacked everything like numbing up the area's and checking the pocket depth. None of that was done and it didn't feel like my gums were any cleaner! I had the same exact cleaning about a month prior which was a regular one. I feel I got ripped off and the insurance company also! I asked the dentist that it didn't feel like a a deep cleaning that it felt like a regular one and he said well we didn't need to go that deep. Then why did I need one I asked and he ignored me! Awful experience. So-called Doctor denied a much-needed tooth extraction--(after beginning nearly an hour late) despite the tooth being completely black and long dead. I was not unclear with her about it nor about my reason for the visit. But the "expert" insisted a cleaning would make a difference--wrong, and not what I came in for. She was rough and the wasted time was just for her to profit, and did nothing for the clearly dead molar. She then pushed $1000 worth of unnecessary antibiotics for non-existent periodontal disease--my gums are 100% healthy and fine (always have been). She seeks easy profits from prescriptions like too many who take advantage of a broken system re. health insurance. I imagine she may treat others of a different nationality with more care and respect. Yeah. In this case it warrants saying and it's no racist based critique. My opinion, but it comes with enough personal experience, strong community/ multi-cultural connections for over 30 years, and strong discernment in this regard. I would never recommend her. I have been coming to this office as a child to get cleanings and now that I'm older I wanted to come back to this establishment. I recommended my girlfriend to this establishment because she needed her wisdom teeth taken out. Dr. Minye was the best Oral surgeon they had, unfortunately, we were told he no longer was going to come into the office and they didn't know when he was going to be coming back. They had a new oral surgeon come in that would be helping us but unfortunately it was a mistake to continue with the appointment. The new oral surgeon Dr. Gabriel Henao was not accommodating to his patient. At the start of her appointment the Dr. told her to raise her hand when feeling pain, Patient raised her hand and told him she was feeling pain! She was crying and hurting! His reply was you're okay, to ignore the noise. Why let your patient know if you're in pain to raise your hand and he's not going help out!? He could have numbed her gums a bit more but he proceeded to drill into her mouth. She was shaking and scared. The receptionist was made aware of the concerns of this after the appointment. One pack of gauze was given and no ice pack, I had to go back into the office and ask for an ice pack. I understand she just had 5 extractions done and she's going to swell but the fact that she felt pain throughout the whole experience is ridiculous, never in my life have I seen someone neglect their patient so badly that they are in tears and traumatized. I worked in a dental office and I have asked around in other dental offices of this situation and they have said the same thing, never has this happened where a patient has felt so scared to come back. They should have kept Dr.Minye he would never had allowed this and he for sure would have been tentative to his patient. Never going to recommend any friends or family to this establishment anymore. If you need cleanings it's not so bad but if you need extractions done go elsewhere don't waste your time or money here. read more

I regret coming here so bad . the dentist was always in a rush and put a silver crown on my teeth that popped off 6 months later . then I was told to wait another 5 months for an emergency appointment , or "go to another dentist" . which I did ! I went to a more reputable dentist in Ventura and MAN I wish I would've gone there first. . The dentist at irinas office shaved my molar down so far its almost a nub , and I'm so sad . this new dentist I found is like day and night compared to them. they should seriously be shut down . YOU SHOULD NEVER GO HERE!!!! I won't waste your time on my 2+ years, that is still unresolved after having seen Dr. Irina Rodriguez. She treats her patients as her specimens to practice on, to advance her certifications. Unfortunately, this creates situations of malpractice, for which she hides behind her Attorney husband, for which she "VERBALLY" makes sure that her patients are CLEARLY AWARE OF, (LIKE IN MY CASE), WHEN ONE OF HER CONTRACTED ORAL SURGEONS, FROM GOD KNOWS WHERE THEY COME FROM, MAKES A MAJOR ERROR (IN MY CASE, DURING AN EXTRACTION, CRACKS A HEALTHY TOOTH NEXT TO THE EXTRACTION, AND DOESN'T DISCLOSE IT TO THE PATIENT AT THE TIME THEY MAKE THE ERROR, AND NOT ONLY THAT, LEAVES THEM TO DEAL WITH EXCESS PAIN THROUGH A MAJOR HOLIDAY, UNKNOWINGLY). Her solution is to now extract a healthy tooth, and to cover it up with placing an implant and believing it should all be ok, that placing this implant free of charge, should make it all better. That implant that was placed, was faulty, which then created more problems, not to mention, that since she didn't bother creating an actual dental plan for the whole mouth, and only dealing with immediate solutions and not creating an actual dental plan created massive issues since nothing else was being properly addressed, other than as a "bubble gum stick and repair' by her. To date, to repair all the dental damage she and her contracted surgeons have caused has now gone up to over $20K, for which I can't afford. I've not been able to eat or chew food normally now for 3 years and still have to deal with constant pain and food being trapped while eating, not to mention massive tooth deterioration to two additional teeth that she removed porcelain crowns from and replaced with crappy temporary silver crowns, which of course have both come off, one of those porcelains, I don't even know why she honestly removed it and replaced it. But can imagine it was to try to offset trying to get me to pay more. I have filed a complaints with the Dental Board, DA's Office and an Attorney. Think twice before going here. read more

I am someone who freaks out at even the thought of going to the dentist so when I needed to get a tooth pulled my anxiety was through the roof. I showed up for my appointment thinking I would be sedated for the procedure but that wasn't the case. However, I put my trust in Dr Rodriguez and I'm so glad that I did. She was very gentle and made sure that I was as comfortable as could be. The whole procedure took no more than 30 minutes. I definitely recommend going to Dr Rodriguez for all ur dental needs. Horrible place !! staff are very unprofessional, they like to gossip about their clients and shared personal information with out your consent. I took my daughter to the dentist wait period 2 hours, did filling without consulting me and they were the grey ones ( not used on children anymore) , filling came off within a week, and did not provided the regular services that usually is done to children such fluoride and cleaning. Never had this issue before with any other dentist. Be careful they always suggest braces even if you already had one.. ridiculous!!! read more

No stars! Only went to her because she took over the office after my dentist retired. Had some teeth filled and I had a crown done by her. My crown wasn't put on right so now I am paying to have it fixed my other dentist. I had a tooth filled my her that should of been crowned because it was cracked. She just filled it. 0 Stars! Unprofessional, non transparent procedures. Misleading and false website info. They use obsolete procedures for the only reason that they are cheaper, whithout really caring for the health of their patient. This is a very sad and unfortunate. They filled cavities of a 7 years old girl with mercury amalgam instead of a non-toxic composite, without giving the parents the option or sharing more documentation beforehand. I'm pretty confident that this happen because we requested if they would accept denti-cal, which they did. Please read what their website is saying about fillings: "IN THE PAST, amalgam (an UNHEALTHY combination of silver/MERCURY) was used as filling material." and also "Silver/mercury amalgams WEAKENS THE TOOTH ...." And please read what FDA writes about amalgam: "Dental amalgam contains elemental mercury. It releases low levels of mercury in the form of a vapor that can be inhaled and absorbed by the lungs. High levels of mercury vapor exposure are associated with adverse effects in the brain and the kidneys." I let you do the math... read more
