My boyfriend and I hung out in Santa Cruz for Labor Day and we decided to hit up some smoke shops…read morein the area. He's always looking for new smoke shops to add to his collection. We were actually walking back to our car when we spotted this place. Thank goodness I found it the tree branches were actually blocking part of their store front! We were greeted by a guy who appeared to be working by himself. There were a few customers that came in but he let them know he'll by with them after he was done helping us. The ambiance is pretty cool - very plain but chill, Ty Dolla Sign was playing. The guy who helped us showed and recommended a lot of things that my boyfriend wanted. Pricing is very reasonable and they label their pieces. Thank you Needful Things! We'll be back in the future. :)

The FRIENDLIEST people run this smoke shop!…read more While living in Santa Cruz we always came here to get my ex's smokes. It's locally owned by a husband and wife, who make the effort to get to know their customers. The shop is fairly small, but has a good selection of items and is always bustling, since the prices are good too. I'd have no hesitation recommended Ron & Bridgette's. Parking is the only downside - since it's right on Soquel near Gateways. We often would park on Cayuga, if there was no parking in front.

SECOND TIME THIS PLACE HAS RIPPED ME OFF…read more They sold me faulty merchandise then refused to replace it. This has happened twice now. Once a few years ago and again recently. I'm both cases I purchased the item. Went to my car directly in front of store. Tried my merchandise and discovered it was faulty then walked right back in. Literally less then a minute later. Both times they refused to replace the item. The woman working behind the counter was absolutely no help at all. She called the owner and told him about the situation and he told her not to replace it. I shouldn't have to go to a smoke shop just to have them blatantly rob me. If you're going here for anything except cigarettes I highly suggest shipping someplace else. The first time they did this I lost 40 dollars. This time they stole 65 dollars. My only option now is to deny the charge on my debit card and follow through. Unfortunately I couldn't even get a receipt. I asked for one after I came back in store and the clerk just said to late for that. Please protect yourself and shop someplace more reliable.

I'm a pipe smoker and occasional cigar smoker. I have been in this place a few times now. As you…read morewill see this place does not stir an eloquent review from me, but I can provide some facts. The place is a bit small and cluttered, it makes no effort to exude elegance (the way that many tobacconists who focus on pipe tobacco and cigars do). It seems that they have very good prices on tobacco pipes, though I didn't examine the brands. They also sell reconditioned pipes, which I thought was handy. I bought a couple in order to experiment with how I like different shapes. The cigar selection is relatively small but seems fine (as I said, I'm not a huge cigar smoker), and I like the walk-in humidor. For whatever reason I found all of their pipe tobacco blends to be a bit on the sweet side for my taste, but if you like flavored tobaccos this place will probably serve you well. Lots of cherry and vanilla and all-around fruity smelling blends. I wasn't totally crazy about what I brought home but it seemed fresh. Two things I didn't like so much. One is that the overall location is a little too low-rent. To lock up my bike I have had to kick garbage away from the rack and there's altogether too much abandoned furniture strewn around. Am I the only one who notices this? Secondly, the woman who runs the shop...she's polite enough, but not friendly or helpful. I had the feeling, every time I was in there, that she's just as soon see me make a purchase and leave than spend any time looking around or asking questions.

The receptionists are fan-tiddly-astic, and the security guard is a sweetheart. It's on my way to work and it's 10 minutes away from the house. I got no reason to go anywhere else.
