In my 40 years of cigar lifestyle and etiquette in customer service, this shop lacks neither. I have been to this shop over the course of 5 years and my recent and last purchase will end due to a small in stature and intellect hipster man boy who doesn't know the first thing about customer service and was extremely rude. I now work in the cigar industry and can tell you as a cigar lounge manager I would not give this shop the time of day until they clean up their act. Or find a new store clerk. Preferably one with manners and knowledge of cigars and customer service! Avoid at all costs. read more

Update: Just got off the phone with Saba, the owner. He seems determined to make things right. I will be meeting him at the shop shortly. I will be sure update my review afterwards. Update 2: Saba was honest and very helpful. He was able to make things right and gave me a different brand with a better reputation and a bonus for my trouble. I'm still going to leave a star off because the employee I spoke with on the phone was rude. When I told him that my only options if he was refusing a refund or replacement would be to submit a chargeback and a customer complaint, he went as far as saying I would be banned from the store. I would recommend Cigar Palace. Just know that the employees have limited power to offer refunds or replacements. If you have a problem, ask to speak with Saba. He will take care of you. I would not, however, recommend buying vapes from EB Design. I'm not sure whether the product I purchased was counterfeit or was just lacking nicotine, but even given the best case scenario that it was indeed a genuine product, the fact that there was little or no nicotine in a nicotine vape speaks to extremely poor quality control. I bought a two BC5000 vapes from Cigar Palace about a month apart. The first one performed exactly as expected. However, I noticed right away that the second one seemed to have little or no nicotine. I am a casual user, so I can always feel the effects of a vape within 2-5 puffs. After 20 puffs, I felt nothing. Suspecting a fake, I did some research and it appears I was sold a counterfeit vape. As you can see in the pictures I provided, the fake has poor quality printing, is a different color and is slightly taller than the genuine vape. I called and gave them an opportunity to make it right and the best I got was that they could sell me a different brand. A refund or exchange was out of the question. This place deserves better then it's three star average. Looking through the reviews, all the low ones are griping about customer service. It's a cigar store people. You can't go in there expecting fake cheer. What they've got that no other joint in town has is a kick-ass, walk in humidor that is very well stocked with cigar bands you will not find anywhere else in this county. (Except maybe Bay Bryar, but I can't even find her anymore, so I dunno) There's something for everyone in there, from your low budget Cuban Round stinkers to the upper echelon Pardon anniversary series, Oliva, My Father, and so much more. It is very rare that you'll find a dry stick in there. The worst I've ever found is a cracked cigar, likely caused by a shopper who dropped it and put it back in the box. Prices are as good as they are anywhere else. They're not overpriced, in fact, their prices on premium sticks are usually better than any other shop in town. I can't speak for their prices on cigarettes, ODB stuff, crack pipes, lava lamps or other deadhead trinkets because I go there for who they are. They are the Cigar Palace, and I'll bet staff gets grumpy dealing with customers who aren't there for the cigars. read more

Don't go here for anything. My husband bought a scale. He tried it at home and it didn't work. He brought it right back to show the store owner that the scale didn't work. The owner tried it himself and verified that it didn't work. My husband asked for another or a different scale to replace the one he just bought. The owner refused, saying he had a No Returns/No Exchanges policy. My brother-in-law finally saw a small notice at the bottom of the showcase, partially folded over, that stated the policy. But that would be for an item that worked, not a defective item. The owner said that he would give my husband $5.00 off another scale. My husband had just paid $20.00 for the defective scale. I recently stopped in to pickup cigarettes for my wife today for the first time in years. We had lived on 34th Avenue and East Cliff years ago, and I had used the store frequently but we moved away. I had reason to be in the area for other business and decided to stop. It was great to see that nothing had changed and customer service was great. What did surprise me was that the prices were much lower than I had been paying elsewhere for the each same cigarettes, plus free lighters with two cartons. Spoke too soon about the great experience on my first visit to Cigar Palace. Apparently on your first visit they will treat you great to get your business. My 4 subsequent trips and purchases were a bust!! Items with instruction book missing. "come down, we will get you one. Oh, gee, sold out can't help." New vape batteries that would not hold a charge for 5 minutes. "yes, some issues". so you knew, sold it to me anyway and then offer no replacement. Cartridge magnets? Will order. didn't come in probably never get them. Buy a new type w/o batteries!!!! I have 4 they sold me, not great quality afterall, and they want to sell me #5? Already threw away over $100!!!! That place was like a different store for 4 consecutive purchases after first. The owner spoke with me about an issue regarding one of his employees and told me all was resolved, but the next time I go i'm being denied service despite the owner giving me his word that all was good and I can come in anytime for anything I want. Ok, this place is severely underrated, being that the Central Coast does not have a decent cigar shop, let alone a walk-in humidor from as far as Santa Barbara to San Francisco. I had almost lost faith in NorCal's ability to cater to cigar smokers. Being from OC l, I'm spoiled with a wide variety of cigar shops and a prevalent cigar scene. I guess everyone is too busy smoking other stuff to care about cigars ;) So this place gets five stars for actually having a good selection of non-defective cigars and being open past a child's bedtime! This place is new, and I've been in there a few times for cigars or pipe tobacco. The walk-in humidor is nice and big and the selection is fine (though it seems a bit sparse for so large a humidor). The guy who runs the place is friendly and knowledgeable. He carries only a very limited selection of pipe tobacco, all of which is pre-packaged from another location (i.e., not especially fresh). The price was reasonable however, and what I got was more to my taste than what I've found at the Bay Briar Shoppe nearby. At this point it's still worth the drive over to San Jose for pipe tobacco. He has a small selection of cigar and tobacco pipe paraphernalia, all of which seemed a little high-end....which maybe suits the gift-buyers and the boys hoping to look like men at their bachelor parties, but is not likely to help the owner build up a regular clientele of cigar and pipe-tobacco enthusiasts. I think I also saw that the back of the shop is loaded up with bongs and the like. It's relatively easy to ignore that part of the shop if you're there for tobacco, but it seems this place may not be able to resist the pothead juvenalia juggernaut that has overcome most smoke shops in the past 40 years. read more

I bought an Acid Kubo Kubo Maduro, and although the flavor was good, it did not burn properly, which may have been due to poor storage as I smoked it the same day I bought it. Luckily I asked anyway if I could use my card to buy incense without getting charged the fifty cents. The man said no. I pointed at the sign and he said it didn't matter. I went here to buy a vape pen. I left spending about $65 which I thought was a good deal until I found out that the vape pen I bought is sold for about $20 everywhere else. When I went back an hour later with the vape pen still completely sealed and untouched, they told me there were no refunds. I understand that that's a common policy in head shops, but they had zero signs posted with their return policy. THEN, the guy who sold me the pen tells me it's my fault that I didn't know about the price before. I told him I didn't expect to get ripped off by $40 or for them to mark up their products 3 times the amount of what they should be. The guy that works behind the counter has no idea about customer service. My husband and I walk in while the worker was helping someone but he never said one moment, I'll be right with you or anything. So my husband helped himself into the cigar room and the worker told him "you need to close that door". The entire time the guy watched my husband like a hawk but never assisted him. After a few moments my husband asked the worker what would he recommend as a good cigar? The guy simply replied "all of them". At that point another customer came in and persisted to help my husband. The customer even joked with the worker that he just did his job and helped sell cigars; to which the guy never cracked a smile.
