I brought in a phone for a screen repair. The screen was replaced with what they later told me was a bad part and would be covered under warranty. After visiting the store 3 additional times to check in about the part I was told it would not be covered by the warranty. The phone now locks itself, keyboard doesn't work, turns off sporadically, and makes calls on its own. I paid over $300 and the phone is in worse shape than when I started. There was no helpful resolution offered-just sorry you're not happy about it and I could maybe give you a discount. read more

We went there with a 5s that needed a new battery. For a shop that's a little tough to find (it's around the corner on the white building, around the back)... it was bustling. And Matt, the tech who helped us, was excellent. He had the phone 15 minutes but I'm sure he was done before that (we stepped out to run an errand). In the time that we were there, however, I overheard him fix one guy's phone with a similar problem... talk to a woman on the phone about an iPad repair... and make sure to check in a few new people who came in while we were waiting. All of this, he did with great expertise, courtesy, and efficiency. And above all, he was very clearly honest with his customers. I overheard him tell the other customer with the 5s that he might also need a replacement screen, as the battery had expanded. The customer said he couldn't afford that so the tech, rather than push him, asked what kind of case he was using. When he said he had an Otter Box, Matt the tech said, "Okay, well then that should hold the screen in and you'll probably be okay until next time you upgrade. I'll see what we can do while we're in there to make sure, but no extra charge since I'll already have it open." This is the way Apple used to be, to be honest. Very friendly, very knowledgeable. Mack Tech did a great job fixing my iphone. In April 2012 I dropped my phone and cracked the screen. I stopped in and it was fixed within 30 min. He has since moved to Skippack into a small office inside a printers office at the corner of Route 113 and 73. I had to visit Mack Tech again because I dropped my iphone the day before I was planning on trading it in. Again it was fixed quickly and Matt also helped me to take off of my information (contacts, pictures, etc). I was also able to sell both my 3G and 4 to Mack Tech. My iPhone repair was fast and affordable. I previously had my phone screen repaired at a mall Kiosk and had my home button replaced. Matt repaired my cracked screen right in front of me and informed me my iPhone home button and screen was replaced with screens not from the manufacturer. I had no idea, but Matt replaced the screen with one from apple. What a difference the screen is! He even included a screen protector. The screen replacement took less than 15 minutes. Just a heads up, Matt and his team no longer work out of their house. They currently have a new store location at the address above(1289 Bridge Rd). Now onto the review... Great guys! Stand by their work! They have I believe 60 day or 90 day warranty on their repairs. I heard about MackTech from a guy I met in Best Buy who had several of apple products repaired through these guys. Then later actually met Matt while I was in line on launch day for the 5S. My daughter got peanut butter into the 30pin connector and speaker/mic part of the iphone and we could not hear anything on the other end of the call, so he told me bring it by to get it checked out. The first time we all had thought it was just peanut butter stuck and thought maybe a thorough cleaning would work. However, it didn't and so we brought it back a second time, and originally had expected to leave it there over the weekend. But, Rob and Mike stayed over an hour late past their closing time just to get to the root of the problem. These guys are fast and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. After shopping around for prices, Mack Tech offered the lowest price by far to repair my iPhone 5 shattered screen. I called and spoke with someone at the Skippack office, and Matt was able to meet me at the company's NEW location (right on Main Street in Manayunk) to repair my phone. I had mistakenly said that I was getting a 5s screen replaced when it was only a 5, so when he arrived, he had the parts for the 5s. I was so discouraged that the repair would have to wait, but Matt was willing to make the trip (at rush hour on Friday night!) to get the correct part. After we had the right replacement, the repair itself took minutes. The repair came with a 90 day warranty for the new screen, and they offer other types of coverage packages for those interested. I was beyond impressed with the inexpensive cost, the quality of work, and above all, the customer service offered. I will definitely be using them for any future repairs and recommending them to family and friends. read more
