About a year ago, I sat next to two guys in the back of the Pret-A-Manger on 8th Ave / 50th St hovering over an iPhone. One of them was assembling it with accuracy and ease while the other anxiously waited. Within in minutes the new iPhone was back together and the customer skipped away happy. Before the handy one left, I asked for his name and a bit about what he just did. Without hesitation, I took his number - just in case. My job requires extensive travel and intensive cell phone use, so I've cracked/damaged a lot of iphone screens over the past four years. This is def the best repair service I've gone to in that time. Michael's rates are also cheaper than many (most?) repair services because instead of renting an expensive storefront he meets you at a cafe in your neighborhood. (I believe you can also arrange to have him meet you at your home or office.) Setting the appointment was quick and easy. I thought my phone might be utterly bricked this time--the screen was severely cracked, a connective plug on the upper right that sits under the screen had popped out and looked bent, and the display was mostly black with a few flickering pink and white lines. Mike is awesome. My phone was a hideous spider web of cracks after falling from my bike while riding to work. I couldn't bear to touch or look at it except when absolutely necessary. Fortunately my wife had met with Mike last summer when we had 2 kids' phones with cracked screens. Michael is an absolute professional. I dropped my iPhone a few weeks back and was super annoyed to watch the cracks deepen and spread. I made an online appointment - quick and easy - on Michael's website and met Michael at the Whole Foods near my office. He was early to our appointment, thorough in assessing the damage, spent his time checking to make sure the screen replacement was successful and did not affect any of the other features on my iPhone. Although he was missing the correct color screw for my phone, he offered to order it immediately, and we discussed setting up another follow-up for him to replace the screw. Sorry that you need this service but you've come to the right place. This guy has been fixing my iphones for the last few years (either apple's quality sucks or I'm clumsy -or both). But he's always able to get me reconnected with the world in 20 mins or less, within a day's notice and without breaking the bank. That's incredible service. Whatever the issue is he can diagnose it and fix it. Fortunately, I haven't needed a new screen but he's helped me with water damage, battery replacement/charging ports and microphone/speakers. if you drop your phone in water don't try to turn it in, otherwise he may not be able to revive it. Throw it in some rice in the freezer for a few days (or something like that) then take it to him. But don't try to power on! That's what he told me so I'm paying it forward. read more

I am someone prone to cracking their screen and there is never a good solution to fixing it! My applecare expired and even with it you have to mail your phone to be fixed which means you can go a full week without it, which for many people is not a realistic option. Most third party solutions I have tried are either wildly expensive or poor quality. iPhone Doc NYC Repair is the best solution I have found and I will never use any other service. Smashed my entire iPhone 5 screen on a patio and went to Mike to get it fixed. The new screen appearance was nice but the touch screen appeared to be quite buggy etc. at first. I waited thinking it would get better and even tried installing the new IOS to try and fix things but the screen was still slightly off. I honestly thought this was more due to phone being old or broken from the drop but I figured might as well reach back out to Mike to see if he could take a look at the connection of the screen to the processor etc. He told me no problem and to meet him that day same place we met before. I was referred to the IPhone doctor by a friend to fix my badly cracked screen on my 6 plus. he sent me a link to schedule an appointment by location. As I attempted to do so I realized my location was (Harlem 125th Street) was not listed. He expressed to me how they only come uptown as far as 93rd Street. However he made a exception for me and sent his tech to my location. I met the tech in Starbucks who was very nice and fast! My phone was restored to its original state with 20 minutes. Here is where it gets even better! The very next day I had another issue (my fault) with my phone and he sent his tech to correct it as well at no charge! Dude. This guy is insane. I've dropped my phone (5C) a million times but accidentally knocking it off my kitchen counter onto the tile floor face-down was Shatter City. Goddamn. Michel was super helpful! Unfortunately my phone was too far gone for the kinds of repairs that iPhone Doc does. Look at their website to see the list of services. I think I had a motherboard problem or water damage. Not sure. HOWEVER, he was super responsive with my questions before I made an appointment and referred me to a place that would be able to solve my phone issue, free of charge. I appreciated his honesty! Also, he had wipes ready to receive my phone and handed me back the phone with the wipe as well. Everything was completed in 15 minutes. I would recommend this service to anyone!
