I've been to a lot of doctors and specialists over the years to try to figure out what happened after I injured my neck and chest. Most couldn't offer clarity, let alone help. But IPA Physio? They've been the only place able to get some feeling back in areas that have been messed up for years. Even though I still deal with flare-ups, I've seen improvements in my thoracic mobility and core strength. I've been seeing them for about a year now at one of their locations, and the progress has been noticeable. The staff is fantastic--super nice and friendly. What I appreciate most is their whole-body approach. They understand the human body is complex, and they consider all factors rather than focusing on just one problem area. The only downside is they're cash-based, so no insurance coverage, which can be tough if you want to go more often without draining your wallet. But the staff dedicates a full hour to each session, which makes it far superior to the typical rushed PT appointment. People always talk about decisions good and bad in their lives and this is hands down, outside of my family the best decision I've ever made, to try out IPA Physio with Dr Spencer Lee. I've been dealing with chronic knee pain stemming from 3 arthroscopic surgery from college and overseas basketball for the past 7-8 years and was told surgery was my only option and even then I still might not be fully pain free as well as not be able to play basketball at full health again. I was recommended by my health coach to find a physical therapist who focuses on kinesiology to fix my posture, which led me to IPA Physio. Spencer was my physical therapist for five months in 2019/2020. The experience was professional and he helped create lasting improvement in my mobility and posture. He took the time to create a thorough daily routine for me to maintain all of the improvements I had seen throughout the therapy, which I have continued following to this day. I feel that I am rather knowledgeable about health and wellness, however I gained valuable information through the education I received from Spencer regarding body mechanics, proper posture and mobility. I feel very blessed to have been introduced to Dr. Pete. Having had many visits with other physical therapist, I felt I would have to settle for temporary relief and learn to live with the pain and discomfort in my hip and shoulder. I had an ankle injury 15 years ago. I went to two different specialists over a period of 5 years. As there were no broken bones, received physical therapy for 3 months. Unfortunately, my ankle continued to swell and have sharp pain, after and sometimes during my usual 3 to 4 mile walk. I tried ice packs, stretches, shorter walks. Nothing worked, so I stopped walking for exercise completely. And gained 30 pounds over the next 10 years. My new doctor recommended Pete. Dr. Peter Rumford is an excellent clinician with great therapeutic skills. When I went to him a few weeks back, I was in excruciating pain 10/10 in my neck and Left shoulder and elbow areas, and I could hardly move my neck and arm. Within a couple of sessions that I took with him, I started having relief from my pains. I remember for how many days I did not sleep, but after his therapy sessions my pain started getting better and I could sleep my full hours. Today, I can say I am pain-free and I am back to my functional life. I was referred by a friend who had a great experience here dealing with a knee injury. For myself, I had injured my shoulder and after months of lingering pain, feared I needed surgery. I've done a lot of physical therapy in the past (I played football up through college), but this a more holistic, hands-on approach, which I really appreciate. Peter came HIGHLY recommended by my Primary Care Physician. So what could be better? But it did get better! I believe what makes Pete a superb physical therapist aside from his acute knowledge and ability to get "parts" working again is his communication skills. He evaluates progress each time he sees you and explains what is going on and what he will be doing. When he gives you exercises to do at home he videos them or carefully explains in writing and or with diagrams to be assured they are completed correctly. Dr. Rumford is highly recommended by me!! I have a unique situation, I have pain in my mouth and jaw and have trouble chewing food and being able to swallow it. First, Dr. Rumford evalualuted me very thoroughly giving me a chance to explain what I was going through. He performed many excercises each session on my mouth and had me continue doing them at home.
