Specialties
Our goal is to enhance your life in a way that promotes the discovery of your optimal physical performance and function. Our unique approach, Functional Manual Therapy (FMT), does not chase pain, but systematically explores all systems of the human body to identify the true source of dysfunction causing your pain or limited function. By optimizing your musculoskeletal and neuromuscular systems, not only do we eliminate pain and rehabilitate injuries, we bring to life your optimal potential. We analyze your daily activities and facilitate the most efficient habitual patterns for your work, play and rest to prevent old injuries from returning and new ones from developing. Our customized treatment program is delivered in strict accordance with our policy, One Physical Therapist - One Patient - Sixty Minutes.
Our Mission: To create a movement culture that facilitates thriving, challenges the norms, and optimizes the human experience by providing the highest quality methodical physical therapy.
History
Established in 2015.
-70's/80's; PT's Gregg and Vicky Johnson studied and worked with the human body alongside some of PT and medicine's greatest practitioners.
-1978: Johnson's established the continuing education organization, Institute of Physical
Art, and began training physical therapists internationally in the Functional Manual Therapy® approach.
-1997, first FMT Certification provided therapists who had spent years training in FMT the opportunity to demonstrate their proficiency in advanced skills and clinical reasoning.
-2014's: Increased demand by patients to receive treatment by Certified Functional
Manual Therapists® inspired their son, Ryan, to envision IPA Physio Clinics , founded on his parents vision:
"To discover each patient's untapped existing potential and educate and inspire all therapist to
achieve their optimum potential to change lives!"
-2015: Ryan teams up with fellow CFMT PT - Dr. Bradley Grohovsky to open their first innovative clinic - IPA Physio Nashville.
Meet the Business Owner: Brad G.
Brad received his B.S from Western Kentucky University and his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Simmons College in Boston, MA. Following graduation, he enrolled in an APTA Credentialed Orthopedic Residency spending three years studying in Annapolis, Maryland while mentoring under the most advanced manual "hands-on" clinicians in the country. As part of the rigorous and rewarding residency requirements, Brad received over 4,000 hours of clinically supervised time with his mentors in addition to attending and assisting in over 500 hours of extensive continuing education coursework. Upon finishing the residency he tested for his Certification in Functional Manual Therapy (CFMT), which he passed with honors. He has now returned to Nashville to bring this incredible treatment/lifestyle approach to Tennessee with two goals: To improve the quality of life for all individuals and to empower his PT colleagues through inspired action as the only CFMT in the state and surrounding region.
