I have a foot problem that is very hard to explain or describe to anyone. I've had it for going on 9-10 years. And I've been to all kinds of podiatrists and specialists (MDs) and through physical therapy for months, and nothing worked! I even got mis-diagnosed. Then I met Dr Al. It was kinda by accident. But I thought "what have I got to lose?!" He manipulates my foot, ankle, knees, and hips...plus all the normal stuff, like spine and neck. When Roger moved to CA he left behind a very good chiropractor he liked very much. I got a recommendation for one here and he liked her too, but then she retired. Dr.Zarembski is to whom she referred​ her clients, but it wasn't until an injury followed by severe back pain forced him into making an appointment that he let me bring him in. Both my husband and I are great supporters of Dr Al. I have tried other chiropractors and the thing I hate most is feeling like they are only trying to get me to book multiple appointments. Just a money making scheme in my opinion. Dr Al never pressures to make more appointments than I need. He leaves it up to us to determine when we need an adjustment. Dr. Al is wonderful! I've been battling lower back issues for the last 15 years or so and I finally feel like I'm making progress after seeing Dr. Al. He's very attentive, kind and knowledgeable when it comes to your body and genuinely wants you to feel better. There's zero pressure to book appointments which I've had at other offices in the past, but trust me, you'll want to book your next appointment right away! He's even offered to come in early when I was in a lot of pain so that I wouldn't have to miss too much work. And last but not least, I've really noticed that even if I do re-aggravate my back, the recovery time is much faster and that's super important to me as a hockey player. After adjustments and following Dr. Al's suggestions for pain management and exercises at home, I can finally see the light and don't feel like I'm 30 going on 70! Here is my review: "Dr. Al Rocks. He's the best Chiropractor I've ever had. You look at him and think "no way can this guy crack my back" but that's just sizism. He said he can adjust anyone up to 300#. Why I love him: His Havanese Chewy often comes to work with him He is the sweetest chiropractor in the world He and his wife have a little girl a few months older than my daughter, and they gave me a My Brest Friend (it is a nursing pillow, awesome) when I had my daughter. He has this machine that is shaped like a horseshoe and it gently taps you back into place if you are scared of manual adjustments (I am no longer scared) He gave me a deal on prenatal chiro care because I am a long term patient, and he knew I had been laid off when I was 4 months along He will tell you EXACTLY how to get reimbursed by your insurance if you have complementary therapy care coverage He has an in house accupuncturist and a CMT. Just saw Dr. Zarembski again... I somehow tweaked my neck and I've been in pain for two days. He got me in at super short notice and after a highly tailored adjustment I already feel better. Alan is amazing. Not only is he knowledgable, he is very friendly and actually takes the time to learn more about his clients (and even remembers the things you've told him). I'm very sad that we have moved out of Sacramento and I will not be able to keep seeing him. Unlike other Chiropractors, Alan is very good and not trying to get you to come back without the need to. I came in with an injury that was pinching a nerve in my shoulder blade. After Alan adjusted it (and I finally had some range of motion back) he said that I could come back in a month just to check in on things but if I was feeling great there was no need to. I've been visiting Dr. Al on and off for a few years now but have somehow spaced on writing a review. Shame on me - he is a fantastic chiropractor who has saved my hide many, many times! I'm a professional musician who spends the majority of the day contorted into all sorts of pretzel-like positions. My alignment/posture/body mechanics will periodically short-circuit and leave me completely incapacitated. Whoops. Although I've spent many years actively searched for relief, until Dr. Al I have not been lucky enough to find anything that works consistently. Dr. Al's adjustments are extremely intuitive and effective. I've seen him on very short notice, sometimes a couple of times in a single day. He is reasonable to the point of being generous. Finally a chiropractor who actually listened and cared about my body. Been to 3 previous chiropractors with a nagging hockey injury, and they just did the run of the mill routine. Alan actually asked the questions, went through different stretches and movements until he isolated the issue. Before I even came in I looked at all the reviews before I let someone break my back!!! (never did this before) and I took a risk and came in after an auto accident. Wonderful, gentle, caring chiropractor!!!! Dr. Alan spent time with me, diagnosing the problem throughly, taking notes on my range of motion, used different tools he had instead of roughly adjusting me, then after adjusting and working on my injured back, re tested my range of motion to see any improvement. Dr Al is great. Much better than the chiropractor I'd been seein before him. He takes the time to listen to your issues, do a proper exam, and then do adjustments that are specific to your problem(s). A far cry from the same handful of generic adjustments and out the door that most chiropractors do. Doctor Al is an amazing healer. I went to see him for work on my back after a nasty mountain biking accident, and he had me back to normal in a few visits. That was great, but the really amazing thing is what he did for my legs. I had suffered from huge permanent knots in my calf muscles, and was starting to feel my achilles tendon separating from my right heel. I'd seen countless massage therapists and doctors over many years, gotten seriously into yoga, even blew $$$ at the good feet store. I couldn't solve the problem. Dr. Al worked on my ankles and lower legs over a two month period, and I am 100% back to normal after eight years of being crippled. Not exactly sure how writing a review of Dr. Al has escaped me. For five years or so I have had occasion to see Dr. Al for everything related to my back, as well as TMJ, shoulder pain, wrist, knees, feet... you name it. Dr. Al resolves issues quickly for me, usually with just one visit. Sometimes it takes two or three but generally, he sets me back on course pretty quickly. There are a variety of techniques he uses, including Pro-Adjust (I think that's the name of the machine), soft tissue and manual adjustment. He tailors treatment to my needs every single time I go in. It's never the same "shake and bake" you get from some other chiropractors. He always tells me "let's see how you are doing" when I ask him if I should make another appointment. He doesn't want you to come in just to make money off of you. I have been seeing Chiropractors for 30 years or so and I have to say that Dr. Al is the best in his field. Beyond his work, he is also a man of great character. A rare find these days. read more
