Customer service was very underwhelming, and I eventually called Solar Services. Their work and customer service was amazing. I changed monitoring services for my panels over to Solar Services because of how great and friendly they are.

They did what they said they would do, ON TIME, as expected and with out any hiccups. Our "quote" was our end price, they were very professional. We wanted to purchase our own solar set up, and do it differently than the "traditional" install. We just needed a company to take us thru the permitting, HOA approvals, wiring and installation. They came out and gave us a quote and we're helpful with advice. We loved how they were open minded to our needs and requests. We interviewed 6 "big" name solar companies but chose this company in the end. Because we felt they understood our vision and did not try to "upsell" us on something else. They did a great job, were honest, had great communication, and as I stated above..on-time, diligent, and completed the work with out a hitch. We love our home solar system and have highly recommended this company to friends and neighbors. If your considering solar, they should be one of your top considerations.

We will definitely contact them when it is time for a new roof. They did our new roof in August and did a great job. It was done in one day and the workers stayed until it was done. We are very happy with the quality and will definitely use them again in future when we are ready for siding.

Sadly, i didn't research as much as I maybe shouldve. They bid about $3000 higher than 2 other quotes i had recieved (one of which was also a GAF certified roofer offering the same certifications) . After i signed, then they would not price match for some lame reason or even consider lowering the cost or including doing drip edge flashing which the other company offered to do at the lower price. Come to find out as well, they did not recommend it, or consider installing drip edge flashing when i didn't have any at all on the roof which i wasnt aware of. When the roof was off i could definitely see some fascia rotting adn damage, so i get to do that myself now instead of when its easiest to do with the roof off.... The actual roof itself seems to have been done well, which for the price it better have been. but I can't help but feel i overpayed and was underdelivered...

The entire experience with Expert Solar has been an absolute nightmare…read more Expert Solar is not an honest company. The installation of the panels was delayed by 2 months without notifying us of the delay. The lack of communication with the project manager was unacceptable. The panel were finally installed in October. Our ratified contract stated that the 70K panels we installed on our roof would cover at least 85% of our energy consumption. The next 2 months we received a invoice for $800 from our local electric company. The panels were not producing any energy and we were still using local electricity. All the while, the app Solar Expert had installed on my husband's phone showed that our panels were producing over 90% of our consumption. It has been 6 months since the installation. We have spent 70K on panels, $1,300 on local electricity bills, Expert Solar then realized that the panels were not properly installed and sent out a crew for an entire day to correct the issue. They have not apologized, nor have they taken responsibility for their unprofessional behavior and their errors. I still support solar energy but regret having chosen Expert Solar. I would never recommend them. I will continue to fight this company, to receive the service that we were promised and for them to cover the high electricity bills for 5 months that we had to pay after paying Expert Solar 70K. Lorenzo and Ron are not very personable representatives. I find them to be unethical, immoral, and not trustworthy or honest. Unfortunately, they do not seem to know what it means to do the right thing. We just want them to honor the contract they made with us. In a world where we have lost all common sense and what it means to do the right thing, I hope to inform people and prevent them from having to experience the same disappointment, frustration and stress that we have had regarding the unprofessionalism and greed that Expert Solar represent.

I had my bathrooms done last fall and the overall experience was stressful and frustrating. The…read moresubcontractor they provided never showed up when he said he would and seemed there was a huge lack of communication on their side. We only have one shower and they guaranteed it would be out of service for no more than a week. If I didn't keep calling to ensure they were coming to finish the shower then I feel it would have taken twice as long. The shower was also out for 2.5 weeks. The contractors tried to do a speedy job which if not caught, you would be stuck with. I finally went over everything with a fine tooth comb before the final payment. Unfortunately there were things that could not be fixed (the tile on the shower leans out about a half inch at the top and flush with the wall at the bottom. I felt that my job always came second or third for other jobs they may have had. They mentioned that the shower system I installed (Delta) had a temperature regulator on it and it may not get as hot as desired. It was during the hot early fall time so the water temperature at the time felt fine. Now that it is winter my shower temperature is about 15 degrees colder than the sink in the same bathroom. I emailed the contractor to ask what rough in valve was installed to see if there was anything that could be done but he ignored me. Showing there is no customer service once the final check is written. I would recommend looking around before picking Hometown. Like other lower ratings have said, customer service was me asking why things weren't done and getting excuses over the phone. They did compensate me for some of my bad experience but now I still have to call a plummer to come check the shower valve to see what is wrong since they aren't replying to my email. More money into a bathroom remodel that costs higher than average for the area. After posting this review, they contacted me about the issues I had with the shower and came over to fix the problem very quickly. The plummer that came over was very experienced and resolved the issue in about 30 minutes. I am now giving this review 3 stars since they admitted to their mistakes and repaired the issues remaining.

I had my windows replaced and a couple of the windows didn't have the new windows in stock - the problem was my old window was gutted out and nothing was covering it for over a month in dead heat summer. I had vinyl siding installed on one section of the house and that took the longest for some reason when it is the easiest to install. Overall work took over 3 months to complete when it should have been completed in 2 weeks or less. I don't understand why floors were installed first because they got scratched up with use of equipment in the house. On top of that it was very over priced. $100 to cover an empty breaker slot? They sell that for a $1 at Home Depot. If you can't keep up with a realistic timeline of the work then either don't accept the job or hire more workers to keep up with the demand. I had to move my family into my sister in law's house to accommodate your slow pace of work. Not a good service to New Military Family moving in the Hampton Roads Area.

Unlimited Solar is a local solar panel contractor here in Virginia Beach. They are located along…read moreGeneral Booth Blvd, but I have never needed to visit their office. I had solar panels added to my home by them in the fall of 2022. I'm sure that over the past few years, we have all seen different solar panel providers coming to our doors to try and get us to go solar. That happened with me. The first one that came out was from Ion Solar, but I wasn't as thrilled about them. They were too pushy, and they are also a national company, so they won't necessarily be tied to our area for years to come. Fast forward a little over a year later. One afternoon, I had two salespeople come to my door asking about my interest in solar. I had been interested at that time, so I talked with them. They were from Unlimited Solar. I did hear them out, and even though I was interested, the cost estimate was a bit of a shock, so I didn't pull the trigger on the project at that time. They asked if I was willing to have a sit down with them to go over more of the details, and I took them up on it, and it was scheduled for the following day. They didn't come the following day, but instead, the VP of Sales, Ray Kindley came instead. We had a great conversation that day, and in the end, I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on going solar (this was around the end of April 2022). They work with GoodLeap for financing, and I was able to get a very low rate of 1.99%. When I asked about the power bank, he said it would add an additional 3 to 6 months for the approval process. Instead, he offered me a gas/propane generator instead at no added cost. It takes a while once the process gets started. The first step is that they have an inspection of the electrical panel, roof, and such to make sure it can be supported. Then, a site survey is conducted, so they use that to get plans drawn up to be approved by the city. The next steps are the longest parts of the process, as it comes to getting all the various approvals to do the solar install (city, electric company, and so on). During this process, Ray and his staff at Unlimited Solar kept me in the loop on the progression through the process. They work with Titan Solar, who did the actual install. As the fall season came, it was finally time to have the solar panels installed. The installation occurred on August 16, 2022. They were very thorough throughout the installation. They were aware of keeping things safe as they worked on it. There were a few times I had to go out for something, and they were really good about making sure everyone was safe when coming or going. The installation itself only took the one day. They did come back a few weeks later to take care of a few other things before the final inspections would take place. After that was completed, it was just a waiting game again for those final approvals from the city and Dominion Energy (including a meter change to track energy in and energy back out to the grid). At the beginning of October, the panels were turned on, but not sent to the grid until a week or so later when the final approval from Dominion Energy came through. I know a big question for everyone is how has going solar affected my electric bill. I wanted to share what it would have been like December through February (meteorological winter) since that is the time for the least amount of sunlight. Setting the same usage from 2022 and applying it to 2021 to give an apples-to-apples comparison. On average, if Dec 2021 - Feb 2022 had the same energy usage as Dec 2022 - Feb 2023, the average monthly costs were $86.75 and $44.14 respectively, which equates to an average of a 49% decrease in the electric bill. Overall, I am glad that I went solar. I am already seeing the returns in the sense that the electric bill is much lower now, and that when I pay the monthly financing payment along with that electric bill, the total amount is still lower than what I was paying for electricity before going solar. If you are thinking about or looking into doing solar on your home, I would totally take that a serious consideration. They are very open and transparent. If you do, make sure to reach out to Ray Kindley and Unlimited Solar as I highly recommend them. It's great to be able to work with a company that is local, honest and trustworthy.
