    Oyster bar menu

A hidden gem! I go to fresh ocean market for all my oyster and seafood goods. When I passed by, I noticed that they collaborated with fish in a bottle to make Iomakase. As they had great reviews, I decided to give them a try. Best to rsvp for the luxury omakase option. There is only 1 chef preparing everything at the counter so it was super intimate. Took us about 1.5-2hrs for the 16 courses. All the food was super fresh. It was well seasoned so you didn't really even need soy sauce. I really enjoyed the yellowtail. It was a very balanced yet flavorful bite. You can really taste the sweetness of the shrimp, scallop and uni. I usually don't eat shrimp sushi but this one was delicious! If you want a casual omakase experience, give this place a try!

Inside of fresh ocean market, it might seem out of place for sushi this good but TRUST me, it is worth the trip. Chef Raul was amazing. The fish was so fresh and it's better than any sushi in Anaheim! I just want everyone to experience what we did! I can't wait to go back

Just had their catering service and the flavors are as comparable to a hole in the wall omakase experience. They also deliver! Very satisfying experience. You won't be disappointed. Trust me I've had cheap sushi and there's definitely a difference in quality and flavors

Service: Super attentive and friendly staff here Ambiance: It's a casual restaurant. A lot of Caucasian customers. To be honest we were going to to leave when I saw the quality of fish they had at the sushi bar but we didn't want to be rude so we decided to be adventurous. Food: We only tried the Omakase option. This place is owned by either Korean or Chinese and so are the chefs. Not your traditional Japanese sushi. Miso soup is too salty and they were kind enough to offer other appetizers on the house to make up for it. Salad is overly dressed. If you do omakase you get better quality fish then the ones you see at counter which is a plus! I'm blown by how good the quality of the fish and uni is! The seasoning and sauce they use for each fish needs work. It's too sweet and masks the true flavor of each fish. Definitely not Japanese flavor but I'm impressed with the quality of their fish. Sushi rice also needs work on. Worth a try if you're open minded and not too picky. Here a few photos.

High quality omakase at such good price in Cypress. Also 5 stars for attentive service. The restaurant is packed on a Friday night so it's best to make reservations in advance.

Their omakase is a good deal. Nice and attentive service . Some items were so so , some were very good. They don't have the sign but it's inside Fish in a Bottle restaurant. They not let anyone seat at the bar, only the table. It will be much better if the bar seating open.

I recently tried Omakase and it was fantastic! The sushi was super fresh and delicious, with each piece carefully prepared :) The staff were super friendly and explained each dish toughtfully, which improved the experience!

Such a GEM in OC. Im a big fan of seafood and this hidden omakase was such a grateful discovery. Staff are nice and fish is really fresh. Such a creative recipe as well! Also I like the vibe that everyone is down to earth. Can't wait to go back

Right across from Disneyland, our night ended with an up close view of the Disneyland fireworks. Everything tasted amazing. We ordered the Nori and Cheese Fries, Tofu Seafood Salad, 2 Double Shrimp Tempura Rolls, Rainbow Roll, Spicy Salmon Roll, and Spicy Tuna Roll. My mouth is watering from writing this review... The rolls were large, flavorful, and had good amounts of fish. High quality fish here. My personal favorites were the salmon and tuna rolls. The salmon was rich and fatty. The spicy tuna had a mild kick of spice, making it enjoyable for almost any spice tolerance. I noticed the wasabi and soy sauce were milder than what I'm used to. A photographer comes by each table to take pictures. They offer 4 framed photos for purchase and give you 1 free printed photo with a QR code to purchase the digital copies. We decided not to purchase any of the photos. Seating options include sushi bar/counter seating and tables. Tables are separated by bamboo dividers, providing a more private dining experience. This restaurant was moderately busy during dinner on a Friday night. Service was timely and staff were attentive. Our waters were regularly refilled and they checked on our table throughout our meal. The restaurant fully validates parking here. Don't forget to get your ticket validated!

It ended up being much more casual than we expected, with an atmosphere that felt like stepping into a restaurant from the '90s inside an older hotel. Not necessarily a bad thing--just different from what we had in mind for a birthday dinner. That said, the food was excellent and definitely the reason we'd come back. I also really enjoyed their selection of Japanese-inspired beers, which paired perfectly with the meal and were a fun addition to the experience. We started with the spicy edamame, which was good, though not a showstopper. The Chef's 10-piece nigiri was the highlight of the meal. Every piece was fresh and delicious, but the yellowtail and unagi were absolute standouts. We also ordered the spicy salmon roll, which was really good, and the double shrimp tempura roll, which was exactly what you want from a tempura roll--you really can't go wrong with it. Our server was very kind and friendly, but service wasn't especially attentive. It seemed like they may have been understaffed, so there were longer waits between check-ins than we would have liked. Overall, I'd definitely come back for the food and drinks. If you're looking for high-quality sushi and don't mind a nostalgic, old-school atmosphere, Hanagi is worth checking out. Just go in expecting excellent food rather than a luxurious dining experience.

DECENT FOOD, TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT…read more I've been here twice, and I can honestly say I think the food is decent, but the manager needs additional training or something. Let me tell y'all what happened, and why I will not go back, ever. Service: 0/5 I ordered food to-go for my staff members birthday; I waited about 40 mins. Like others have said, they're very short staffed here, and maybe that's problem #1. After some time went by, I think they realized I was sitting for a very long time for a small to-go order, so they rushed & possibly didn't secure my bag of food. I ordered a spicy YAKIUDON noodle meal, spicy edamame, and a fried "San Diego". When the young man gave it to me, I asked him if it was secure because it feels heavy and I'm taking it to my staff member and wanted it to be ready for him to eat. He said everything was there, it was packaged well, and sorry for the wait. WELL- LONG STORY SHORT IT WASN'T. lol. I immediately called after I got to my staff members job (15 mins away) and nothing was secure. It leaked so badly EVERYWHERE! My car, my clothes, the food was soggy- it was a literal disaster. After calling- the man apologized profusely and said he will replace EVERYTHING and to come back any time. My staff member and I were out of lunch and it was honestly embarrassing because it was their birthday. I wasted time, spent 2x the money, and I had an extremely dirty car. I took pics, threw the food away, and went back a few days later. When I got there- the cook/ possibly owner was MAD as heck when the guy told him I was there to recollect my order. After shouting and shaking his head- I saw him cooking. When my bag came- it was awfully light and a very tiny box. I asked the server if that was everything and he was so embarrassed and kept saying he was sorry that the owners said "no." They will not replace it after all. They gave me a literal small side of noodles and that's it. The meal I originally bought came with rice, a salad, a dumpling etc. I also didn't get the edamame, or the fried San Diego! All around- I felt bad for the young man who was so embarrassed and ultimately put in the middle. He said it was wrong what they're doing but ultimately this place was going back on what they should do to make it right. I didn't make a scene or argue, I opted to never come back. I think things like this show the character of an establishment and it is what it is.

The food still tastes just as good as before. They've changed the menu slightly but my go-to rolls are still there. The waitress was very helpful in introducing us to the new ordering system, and we worked out the kinks pretty quickly. We came in at around 2pm on a Friday, so ordering was quick and the food came out just as fast. I saw some people coming in wanting to order a la carte, but the waitress said they weren't able to do that at the moment. I know this might be a rough transition to a new system so I hope people will give them a chance to figure it out. Overall, the food is still great and I'm happy I can try some of their sides I've been wanting to try, but now it comes with all the rolls that I can double and triple order!
