I was looking for a simple yet classy invitation for my wedding and was having a hard time finding what I was looking for until I came across Invitations By Dawn and their "simplicity-invitation" template. A pain, but worth the hassel. Well, in hind-site I guess I should have yelped Invitations by Dawn before I ordered, but in reality I am glad I didn't. I love our invitations, and we searched far and wide for the perfect invitations in our price point. We ordered the Above the Bloom invitations and they are gorgeous, embossed, thermography (with pretty glittery ink) and very good quality. So why not 5 stars? Well, it's been a hassel. I should have ordered proofs, but they were expensive so I checked and doubled checked and held my breath. It says on their site and my confirmation email that they print in 2-3 days. It took 3 weeks. Apparently they were backordered on the response envelopes. I called a couple of times and was always greeted promptly by a friendly customer service representative, so this didn't bother me too much. When I called the 3rd time, the representative told me they had a layout problem and were printing another batch. He upgraded me to overnight shipping, free of charge, even though I already had free shipping. We got them yesterday, and were disappointed to see two problems. First, the monogram on the envelopes was wrong - it had only our initials when it should have been our full names. A monogram is a monogram, though, and the envelopes will just be tossed. On the invitations, though, the font with our names on it was tiny. If you held it up to your nose, you could read it. I thought, I should have ordered proofs! The font for the rest of the invitation was 12 and the font for the names was 26.... so why couldn't we read it? Perhaps script fonts just come out tiny? Nope, they confessed when my fiance called that they had printed it at 18. So, I should have ordered proofs for piece of mind, but it was their mistake anyway. They are printing and shipping us new invitations. I DO recommend them, however... it's a pain but they can be reached, are friendly and honest, and I really appreciate that. And the invitations are beautiful. So they have some issues, don't we all? It saved me a few bucks, so I am happy! Just give yourself plenty of time to work out the kinks and you should be fine. read more

All I have to say is stay away from this website. I spent over $400 dollars on laser lace cut invitations and when I went to assemble them, they all had a weird yellow stain on them. I did a live chat with someone and explained my situation they told me to send pictures to the customer service email and that they will issue me a refund within 7 days. I contacted customer service and sent pictures. They told me that a "slight variation of color" is stated on the product description. So they will not issue me a refund. Which I originally saw, and thought it meant slightly darker or lighter, which I was ok with. NOT yellow staining. I'm honestly not one to complain, but I feel that it is only right to let others know. Also, some of my addresses were misprinted and they didn't even bother to help fix that problem. TERRIBLE custom service! We ordered a sample over a month ago and still have not received it! I have chatted with their customer service twice and get a different answer as to the time I should allow to receive a sample (both answers were way too long of a time period considering I understand how mail works and it should not take longer than 5-7 business days). My invitations arrived this morning and they are absolutely beautiful! I couldn't be more pleased with them. I had a great experience with Invitations By Dawn. After reading some negative reviews here for IBD I decided to order some sample invitations (for a small fee) and I highly recommend doing this. They not only sent me the samples they also sent samples of the different types of paper you can choose from. While their basic paper choice was fine, I chose to upgrade to the "shimmer paper" and it turned out beautifully. I also chose to have the outer invitation envelopes printed with my name and return address and that was done beautifully as well. I chose IBD because of their selection. I loved several of their designs which was not the case for other sites. I also asked a ton of questions via their online chat feature before ordering and the customer service representatives were always very courteous and helpful. After reading some complaints about the type being too small I paid very careful attention to order XL type on my invitations and response cards. I highly recommend that everyone do this as the XL type is the perfect size for invitations. I think anything smaller would not be good, IMHO. As for price....I ordered 72 invitations and used a 30% off promo coupon for a total of $192.84. They also allowed me to use the 30% off promo on my response cards (which were ordered a few days later) for a total of $87.02. The grand total for everything was $279.86. Nice invitations but they don't give any warnings that the card you picked is super hard to read if people write on it for an RSVP. There should definitely be some kind of disclosure especially for people who unfortunately due to family circumstances don't have time to order samples prior to. Plus refuse to send you only a few extra of something you ordered in case you need it because your planning in a hurry due to finding out the brides father is dying. Do not go with this company!. I ordered Seal and Send invitations and their online form prints the return address on the wrong side of the invitation. Now the post office refuses to mail it unless I cross out the return address. If I wanted them to look like crap I would not have ordered them from a "professional". So then I contacted customer service and all they did was be rude and give me the run around. They said I had to prove the post office would not mail them. The post office will not call them to state this and they refused to call the post office even though I gave them the number! read more

I was able to custom design a magnetic invitation to my son & his fiance's upcoming "Gender Reveal" party, where it is revealed if they are having a boy or a girl. I saved my work, and planned to sign back in later with my son & D.I.L. there to help tweak anything, and make sure they liked it. Well, I wound up receiving a promo code from Invitations by Dawn in the interim for 25% off! The invitations were only 85 cents each or so to begin with, and then I got 25% off on top of that! Needless to say, I was pleased with the price. The invitations arrived right on time, and I must say - they are beautiful!! They are quality, the printing was exactly what I asked for, and the special instructions I gave were followed "to the T". Perhaps people with good experiences don't often write a review, but I have to say that mine was honestly great! We did have a hiccup with the thank you cards we ordered to match the invitations (they came as postcards rather than folded notecards), however a call to customer service produced an immediate fix, free of charge. Both customer representatives I spoke with (Mike and Brian) were positive, friendly, helpful, and professional and worked hard to find a thank you card that would go with our invitations, and that folded. I also loved the fact that I could proof everything online, my invitations were produced with 30% recycled paper (unlike the same invitations at Costco), and that they came so quickly (I had them within a week of ordering). My wedding invitations were for the most part as I expected and pretty cute. My wedding is a destination wedding and being put together in 4 months so I am not being too fussy. I will say that I was happy with the customer sevice though. I completed my order online and apparently made a huge mistake and spelled my own name wrong!! Ho I am still not sure, but with everything swirling around in my head it is possible it was me. When I called the customer service lady was very kind and offered to re print them only charging me for shipping. I wanted more of them too, casue I realyzed I had not ordered enough. Considering this is a wedding invitation company, everything they've done for us has been a disaster. When we first got the order, we didn't do a careful item count, and that was our MAJOR mistake. A family member did calligraphy work on the outer envelopes for us. When she received them, she asked why we'd come up a dozen short. Turned out Invites by Dawn charged us for the extra envelopes but didn't send them. They accommodated us and sent the envelopes, which put us about a week behind. We just got the calligraphy-done envelopes and went to stuff them (again, about a week behind.) Now we realize they only sent half of the actual INVITES. So I'm scrambling begging them to rush order replacement invites. I'll update based on what they can do, but either way this is going to go down to the wire. I have some family members who may not get their actual invitations on time. All around, this has been an absolute disaster. The invitations are pretty and were comparably at a good price, but I guess you get what you pay for. We started the process by ordering 6 samples of wedding invitations, which I would highly recommend. They arrived within a few days and it was a big help in making our final style decision. Once ordered, we received our wedding invitations and response cards within 4 days of placing the order. Given some of the negative reviews, I saved a screenshot of the personalization on everything we ordered in case there were any issues. We are VERY PLEASED with the product received. There were no errors on any of the personalization and nothing was missing from the order. Everything was exactly as we expected. The quality of card stock used on the basic (no up charge) invitations and response cards is excellent. The envelopes are high quality - I thought this might be where the company cut costs, however that is not the case. We had an additional 24 response cards in our order with a later RSVP date, and that did not create any issues or mix ups. With the 25% off promo and free shipping, we received 156 invites with inner and outer envelopes, and 180 response cards with addressed envelopes for $300. Very reasonable. I couldn't have replicated the product as a DIY project for that price. read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. I have had nothing but difficulty with this site since the moment I placed this order. I used them for my save the dates. I loved them. They came out perfect so I figured why not my invitations. WELL, WHAT A MISTAKE. It was impossible to get in touch with them. Information was missing. I must have chatted via online and called them no joke over 40 times. I received my order finally the invitations where misprinted and so where the envelopes that I paid for. Now I am literally fighting for refund!!! One woman told me to mail back (they want me to pay) all the invitations. Another woman told me to throw them away. My order cost $325. When I contacted them today and spoke to the manager Christy I explained all the above. She said when we receive back the order we will refund you. I said that was not what was told to me. I was told to throw them away and a refund would be issued. She said no refund will be issued. I said weird because why did you refund me $90 already. It is a shame I cannot give them 5 stars, because the invitations I ordered were such a gorgeous and elegant design that they have, but I was disappointed in the quality of them for the price I paid. It would have been different if I knew I was buying a cheap design. A handful of the addresses I had pre-printed were cut off, even though they showed up fine in the preview online. In addition, a large, integral piece of the invitation had these brown dots all over the edges and back and front of many of them, which made them hard to cover up. Being a stressed out bride at the time of my wedding planning with all that has to be done, this was the last thing I or I'm sure any bride would want. The product we were looking for was exactly in our price range. My fiance and I both proof read our invitation (it felt like) too many times. We recieved our order very promptly and noticed a misspelling. We were not sure if it was our error or the website's. When my fiance contacted the company via chat on the website, the rep was extremely helpful and claimed that it was probably their fault and immediately corrected the mistake. I wish I could give Invitations by Dawn zero stars. The customer service was horrible. It was impossible to get THEIR mistakes fixed because they refused to take responsibility. I had to speak with over four different people and it took a week to get anyone to comply. Not to mention I had to pay more money for them to fix the mistake they had made in the first place! I'm incredibly disappointed in the service I received from them, and I would never recommend them. They were rude, unresponsive,and difficult. The final result was absolutely beautiful (especially for the price!) and we've been getting tons of compliments on the invitations that we got from Dawn, but.... -Dawn's software is limited, making layout changes difficult, and even Dawn's staff has trouble making the required layout changes (Much easier on Vistaprint) -Dawn's staff, while very courteous, was not detail oriented when making corrections to proofs. They might make 3 of 5 corrections requested and then I would email them again to make the remaining corrections. -Invitations were shipped to me misprinted. I emailed them on a Sunday about the problem, and after a few emails and phone calls, Dawn got the corrected invitations to me by Thursday (I was sweating it a bit.) read more

Don't order your wedding invitations from here. You really get what you paid for, in my case, I have 86 invitations with font so small you can't even read the information. Even though when you order they state if you are not 100% satisfied they will replace your order, it's a lie. They told me it was basically my fault, that type of invitation does better with less lines (there's soooooooooooooo much space on the card for larger font AND not only that but I used one of the choices THEY gave to me on the website!!!) and he refused to re-do the invitations. You get what you pay for, go somewhere else, anywhere else but this company. It's all computerized and the customer service reps are clueless to what the paper is like or even what any of the invitations look like. They do not care about quality and they don't care about YOU. read more

The only reason I went with Invitations by Dawn was because they carried the Disney Collection (which you cannot use the coupon codes on, even for free samples, something their customer service department told me I could do). Adjusting the invitations in regards to wording/spacing is very difficult to do, I had to reach out to their customer service department again and was charged for every proof they sent me (price to pay for perfection). Once the invites were delivered, I didn't think to count how many invitations I actually received (should have been 144 with 2 sets of RSVP cards, 72 each), I have a ton of RSVP cards left over and no invites to match them up to. In addition, They sent 2 boxes of envelopes, even though I didn't request any extras. One box was lined with the sticky stuff you lick to close the envelope and the others were not!! I didn't think I would have to inspect every single thing once I got my shipment, that is what the quality control department is for...so I had already placed the stamp, return address labels, and address labels on the non-sealable envelopes. Very frustrating process. I would suggest going with different invitation specialists if you can. My sister used Wedding Paper Divas and my friend just used Zazzle, they had no issues at all whatsoever and it came out WAY cheaper. read more

I ordered my invitations through this company online. The invitations are beautiful and a good price. I was very satisfied with the company. However,I would recommend ordering early. This is because I had not received my order within the time frame that they said that I would have them by. I called and found that they have a remarkably helpful telephone costumer service department. They said that my ribbon was back ordered and said that she would have my order to me in two days. She was right, it came two days later. However, the ribbon was the wrong color and they had not capitalized one of the words in my invitations. I called and again they were very helpful and said they would send me the correct color and would reprint the invitations no charge and I did not have to send anything back. It came in a few days, the invitations were perfect, but the ribbon was still the wrong color. I called again and Alas! I have my claret ribbon today! I would recommend this company. I paid the extra $10 to proof read my invites before ordering. Their was a misspelling on my outer envelop I didn't notice till I was about to mail out the invites. I checked the proof email and it turns out the envelopes don't get proof read. I was so mad I paid extra for the proof reading and still had a misspelling. Everything that could have gone wrong with my invitation order went wrong. If I could give negatives stars I would. Here's the low down: Placed order for wedding invitations on-line 1/31. Spoke to Rep1 on 2/4 who said this order had a hold for a question that no one bothered to call me about. On 2/6, spoke to Rep1 again and said they were still in production. On 2/9 I call and speak to Rep2 to find out that that order was put in as a 'test' order and it was never in production and that those invitations were not even in stock. I should have stopped there, but I felt like I had to get an order in before it was too late since my RSVP date was getting closer and closer. Rep2 did not take my concerns for getting the order escalated seriously. He did nothing that I can see to get it through faster. I asked for a manager which he could not produce NOR could he get one of them to call me back as I had asked. I still placed the new order w/ him over the phone. He said he would put the order in and we can hope they would ship the next day. On 2/10 I spoke w/ Rep3 who said it was still in production. She had someone call me that evening to let me know that they still hadn't shipped but they would ship 2/11. On 2/13 I spoke w/ Rep4 who said that Quality Control sent my order back and that they had to reprint them. She handled the call very well and put me on hold to see where the order was (packaging). I then asked her to change the shipping to Saturday delivery which she did. On 2/14 I received them there is a TYPO!! Address of the wedding is WRONG. Should be 900 not 9000. Also, we're using a web page for the RSVP and they ended up wrapping it to a 2nd line. This has created so many problems for people trying to RSVP, not realizing that the full address was on 2 lines!!! I've complained to them directly and they've offered a 50% credit. It's not likely I'll ever order from them. As far as I can tell they reversed the charges to me, but this was still a very disappointing experience all the way around. read more

Ordered wedding invitations from them and had multiple issues. We ordered 60 white mailing envelops, 60 foil lined envelops, 60 wedding invitations and 60 RSVP cards. I used their template to get the mailing envelops addressed. In their template that had a column that read "International" Since none of our addresses were out side the US I put "No". When we got the envelops they had the address but under neath the address it said "No" on each envelop. We had them reprinted without the "No" when we received the new ones without the "No" they forgot to print and send one. So we asked them to resend it. It arrived with the "No" back on it, at this point we gave up on the envelops. Not only were the mailing envelops an issue. In the middle of all of this we started making putting the invitations together. We realized they had shipped 42, not 60 RSVP cards. We had to ask them to reship these as well. The reason they get two stars is that their staff was very friendly and helpful but a complete lack of quality hurts. read more

Well it all started with an email for 40% off any accessories!!! I had been searching their website and fell in love with the Disney Themed items!! (We are having little hints of Disney our wedding!!) SO I found these adorable napkins with bride Minnie and Mickey! I was so excited to get 40% off of them because it would have cost me over $100 for 300 napkins!!! So I tried to use the code, and it doesn't work!! I tried like 5 times, then got frustrated and gave up!!! I decided to call them, but it was too late to I waited until the next morning! So I called and explained to the lady my frustrations!!! She said well we never discount Disney items!! I said well the email should have said that, and she said it did! Well I told her that it surly did not and the website didn't say anything either!! She put me on hold to research it! 5 minutes later she came back and said yes the website did state it! She was very rude!!! :( So I just told her that I was planning on ordering my invitations and napkins from her and since she was so rude that they just lost a customer.. and I hung up!!! I still wasn't satisfied, and I still wanted those napkins (No where else has something like this!!) so I called back and asked to speak to a manager! Well the manager was in a meeting and said she would call me back soon! 5 HOURS LATER, I called back and asked for the manager and was transferred right away! Um, I understand that they have things to do but really!!! She was very nice and super apologetic!! She researched it and said that she could not find anywhere that the email or website said "excludes Disney Items" ! So the other rude lady LIED!!! :( She told me that their systems do not even allow them to discount Disney products and she could give me free shipping instead! Hmm well I took it because I wanted the napkins, but I was still not satisfied because I could have paid $50 for them but I still had to pay $95!! There was nothing else she could help me with though! AND it gets even better........ SOOO after that, I ordered a bunch of invitation samples! (and when I say a bunch, it was probably 40!! lol) WELL I got 10 in the mail.... that's all!!! I thought maybe they were back ordered or needed more time, but after a month, I figured they might not come! I ordered a couple more invitations and they came in the next 3 days (well 2 out of 5 that I ordered came!), so I new my first ones were NEVER coming :( Well I didn't matter for the free ones, but I spent money on the Disney ones, and I never got them!! So I called and asked the lady what was up! She asked to call me back...10 minutes later, she called and said they had no record that I ever ordered them!! HMMM well I DID and I have an email conformation and shipping conformation for them!!! She said that she would send them out again, but that they didn't think I ordered them!!! Extremely disappointed! I placed an order and paid EXTRA to receive it sooner. It took longer than it was supposed to and to my surprise when I received the order, it was ALSO INCOMPLETE! I only received 1 out of the 8 items I purchased!. When I contacted costumer service for the first time they told me that the computer indicated that all the items in the order had been received, which was not true! However, they were gonna make an exemption and ship the items I was missing again. They ENSURED me that I was gonna receive my items today. It is the end of the day and I haven't received anything from them. I just contacted costumer service again and the person on the phone was very rude. I told her about my situation and instead of helping me she told me that the items had been sent through regular mail and that they were gonna take at least a week longer .... When I had been told that they were gonna be shipped through express mail... She didn't apologize or tried to make it better in anyway. Oh and they can't provide me with a tracking number..... I ordered a sample at first and it came a couple of days later with more than I bargained for (samples of all the types of paper, all the ink colors and of course the actual invitation). When I ordered my wedding invitations they arrived (across the country) 4 days later. Everything looks absolutely perfect. As a tip: make sure you order more invitations than you think you need. It's pretty expensive to order only 12 if you realize you need more. I also ordered extra envelopes and I'm glad I did because I messed some of them up when I was addressing them. I ordered invitations by Dawn, and spent many hours doing so. I used THEIR drop down menu, wanting a FLAT card.....I picked one out, based on the picture, and that I was looking under flat cards. In the description it mentions about the border, and down the fold, which I didn't pay much attention to, since the picture shows it as a FLAT card. When the invites came, of course they are the folded type. I called immediately, and basically told me it was my problem. They gave me an additional 10% off, but I just want the cards corrected which they refused. I asked why they show a flat card, and not a folder card in the picture, and they said that anyone can request it as a FLAT card if they pay 30.00 extra, but that would have to be done as a special request. How is anyone suppose to know that, and if you look at their web site, they have had the same complaint several times. The card is Luminous. read more

I wish I had not ordered our wedding invitations from IBD. First, while the website appeared easy to use, when I actually placed my order I had many difficulties and took a couple days to complete. The instructions on the website differed from those I would get when I called customer service and used the chat function. Everyone seemed to tell me something different on how to complete the order. Ended up they were having a server issue that made some of the functionality of the website not work. When I finally got the order submitted, I received the proof I had to pay for by the next day. The proof contained many errors and was in the wrong font. I spent time detailing all of the errors and resubmitting. A day later I received another proof with some errors corrected, but many new errors and still wrong font used. It took three or more back and forth communications via the website and many conversations via the on-line chat and customer service line to get a proof that was correct. At one point I asked to speak to a supervisor and was transferred to a voice mail for a woman named Betsy. I left a message and she did return my call, but I was unavailable and while she left a voice mail that she had called, she neglected to leave a direct phone number to call her back at. At that point I had spent so much time dealing with the situation, I decided to not try to contact her via the 800 number, as I just wanted my invites and to move on to other planning. Well, I received my invites this week, and guess what? THE FONT WAS WRONG ON PART OF THE INVITE EVEN AFTER ALL THE TIME SPENT PROOFING AND HAVING BEEN SENT A CORRECT PROOF I APPROVED!! Since the ordering process and time to print and deliver took much longer than the website implies it would take, I am getting too close to my RSVP date to send back and ask for them to be reprinted. Very disappointing to not have the invites the way I wanted them printed after all this work, and money spent. The paper and print quality of the invites are acceptable, but nothing amazing. In hindsight, it really doesn't seem that great of a price compared to other printing services. At this point I would have gladly paid double for less stress. The basic invites seem less expensive than some competitors, but by the time you upgrade paper and pay for addresses to be printed, there are other comparable options. So, unless you have a lot of time to waste in planning your wedding and have a high degree of tolerance for incompetence, I would suggest not doing business with IBD. I sent an email to IBD two days ago informing them of the print error and my frustration and disappointment, but have heard nothing back from them at this point. Their HUGE loss, as I still have wedding programs, dinner menus, table numbers and escort cards to have printed and will be taking my business elsewhere. I will also tell all of our friends about the experience; at least a half dozen of them are getting married too in the next year. read more

Getting our order was too much work! First, we selected our invitations, response cards, envelopes, and wedding programs. The program proof was not correct and we submitted the problem to them for correction. We never heard anything and the order just sat in limbo so we contacted them. They said they would contact the Art Dept. and then the next day it was fixed. The order came in two shipments. However, the Unity Sand Vase was missing. We figured it was coming separate since it is fragile. When it never arrived, we contacted them. They showed it was in the box with the paper goods but replaced it free of charge. However, I didn't hear anything after that communication and had to contact them for a 3rd time to find out where this item was. They showed it had shipped out, although I was never notified with any type of tracking number. So it took 3 separate communications for us to get an online order. I felt like we were always forgotten about unless we called them. In doing over, I'd use a different company. read more

I ordered my wedding invitations from here and on the preview page everything was read and easy to see. However, when I received the invitations the color was only able to be read in a certain lighting. We contacted customer service and they said it was our fault the invitations were not readable and would not refund us and said they would reprint them for $90, which is nearly half of what we originally paid for these invitations. Unfriendly service and inaccurate internet proofs, do not use!!! read more
