Cool and urban, clean and minimalistic coffee shop in the RSF plaza. its definitely off the bitten path, probably known only by locals because of its location. The coffee shop is located at Cielo Village plaza. The whole plaza is perched on the hill overlooking Del Dios road and Santa Fe valley preserve. Invita offers light breakfast options like chia pudding, baked goods and a few breakfast sandwiches. I believe they also serve lunch to go options. Staff was nice and polite, prices are average for the neighborhood. Large latte is $5.50 similar pricing to Starbucks but with better quality coffee :) If you are in the area, stop by and check this place out.

Excellent coffee and great ambiance. One of the best authentic Italian coffee shops in San Diego. Quality of service is top notch. I wish they closed a bit later than 2pm on Saturdays.

Mediocre coffee at premium prices. Don't even bother with their food unless you're desperate. Service and ambiance were fine.

Bad coffee and bad service. Rather make the drive and hit up other coffee spots and not give my $ to this place.

My husband and I visited the San Diego Safari Park for "February Free Seniors Month". We noticed…read moreseveral park eateries were closed for lunch; and the ones open mainly served hot dogs and hamburgers (not what we wanted). So we checked Yelp for the next best thing nearby and found the "Sunny Side Kitchen". I'm not a vegetarian, but my Vegan Panini (with a pickle slice and fresh fruit cup on the side) was wonderful. That freshly baked sourdough bread sandwich was so juicy some avocado squirted out of an air hole in the bread onto my shirt. Luckily water was nearby to quickly wipe away any future stain. Recommendation: Wear a napkin on your shirt. ; ) p.s. It wasn't crowded for a Tuesday lunch; and owner Kate added great conversation and promoted neighboring "Esco Gelatto" as a good place for dessert, but we were too full. We'll save room next time.

If I could give half stars, my overall rating would be 3.5 stars. Based on the high reviews, I…read moreguess I expected more. It's a cute, casual mom and pop breakfast/lunch joint that specializes in paninis and salads. The restaurant is tiny inside. They have a few tables for dining in but they are really close together. I would say it would be best to pick up and to go. You can order at the counter but it seems most people use the QR code on the table to order online. Our paninis were good and I enjoyed the seasoned cheese herb crunch on the sourdough but the food is overpriced. A full panini is $18-23 and comes only with a tiny sample sized cup of fruit. The drinks are $6. The panini also had minimal chicken and filling so most of my bites were of bread. For those prices, I would expect at least a decent side such as a salad or chips. Also the service is minimal where you order online, you bus your own plates, and when asked for water I get a tiny cup for dining in- so asking for tip on top of these prices (over $25 per person) is hard to justify especially in Escondido.

Update So they…read morefinally have a healthy option among the sea of junk food they offer besides the sandwiches: pistachio nuts. I love pistachio nuts, and have bought some here, but they aren't advertised enough. Also, the varieties they have aren't exactly to my liking - the vinegar version and chili version. My preference is for the lightly salted pistachio nuts. But I also wanted to emphasize how fun it is to be greeted by the same people again and again: I've "gotten to know" the family behind the restaurant, and it's pleasant to have that kind of connection, rather than different pimply faced teenagers working the registers at McDonald's who you never see again and don't engage with.

I finally made it to Summer's Deli on Via Del Campo Ct in San Diego (right around the 16885 spot in…read morethat business area), and wow, I'm so glad I did! This was my very first time stopping by, and it definitely won't be my last. The sandwiches are seriously tasty - fresh ingredients, perfectly layered, and just really good overall. I went with one of their classic Torpedo (they have a nice menu with made-to-order options), and every bite was spot-on: great bread, generous portions of meat/cheese/veggies, and that satisfying deli flavor without being over-the-top heavy. The service was friendly and quick too, which is always a plus during lunch hour. It's a cozy little neighborhood spot - nothing fancy, but clean, welcoming, and clearly focused on doing sandwiches right. If you're in the Rancho Bernardo/ Carmel Mountain area and craving a solid deli sandwich, definitely swing by. Highly recommend - 5 stars from this happy first-timer! Will be back soon for sure.
