I opted for tutoring vs. a class to get more individual attention and also a more tailored experience - focusing in on particular weaknesses rather than spending time learning everything from bottom-up to be applicable in a group setting. It really paid off. My tutors (Jennifer and Karen for quant and verbal, respectively) were really great, able to zero in really quickly on my particular areas of weakness and help develop my skills to address those problems (and quickly). Bara and Jennifer both also provide help with confidence, anxiety relief, and Jennifer even sent a pre-test-day brain food list. Taking a practice GMAT cold, no prep, I was at 640. With a little self-study, I was around 700. Working with TPNY, and taking the GMAT twice, I scored a 740, and then a 780. They're really top notch.

He did very, very well on the exam, and I give much of the credit to Nataliya (the rest of credit goes to my son, who worked very hard!). Going into this, we had reason for deep concern about his prospects. Well, we got the scores yesterday and they are outstanding. Thank you, Nataliya! On a personal level, Nataliya worked wonderfully with him. She is incredibly patient, and seems to have great instincts for how to work with different children. She worked with my daughter as well, just not as much, and clearly tailored her presentation to the nature of the child she was working with. (It bears mentioning that my son has some learning issues, which she clearly grasped and adapted to very effectively.) From a practical perspective, the virtual tutoring worked exceptionally well for my son. His generation is often more inclined to interact with others online than in person, and that is especially true for him. The flexibility afforded by the remote sessions was terrific - weekends in particular - making it much easier for him to keep up with, and follow through on, the lessons. I would enthusiastically recommend Nataliya to any student searching for help with the challenges of navigating today's high school workload!

She truly tailors the class to your individual ability. Ultimately my Spanish proficiency has increased tremendously since I've been a student of hers. I'm much comfortable with speaking and tackling tenses I never learned in over 4+ years of studying in highschool and speaking in college. What I find outstanding about her and her teaching: 1. Individual attention - Andrea is great at assessing your strengths and weaknesses, and coming up with personalized instruction that pushes you to improve where your language weaknesses are, and she encourages you to speak every class. 2. Availability and flexibility - Andrea is also very flexible depending on your schedule. She's able to come to your workplace, or teach you at her home. She's able to work around your schedule and provide a regular cadence to meet. 3. Knowledge - Andrea is extremely knowledgable about various dialects and various Latino cultures around the world, she's able to customize based on what you'd like to learn, or provide you with an international Spanish language experience. I couldn't recommend Andrea more for private Spanish language lessons!

I came to her…read moreas a total beginner only two months ago and she has really helped me make great progress with her native language in two meetings per week. I already feel that I can communicate much better with my husband's family and friends when they come here or when we are on trips abroad. Not to mention that my husband himself is very impressed with all my progress after each lesson with Andrea. She is one of those rare teachers who is able to assess the student's level and pace quickly and adjust that pace to accommodate areas that are a personal struggle or where the material might be a bit easier. She is always very prepared with each day's lesson but also more than happy to sidetrack to drill some points of confusion from homework or a topic that I would like to cover. She has a great personal style of being able to explain the grammar in good order and clearly, without being too overwhelming. She also shows a lot of empathy for the student and is super encouraging with many kind words of positive reinforcement even when I feel like I am being dense or struggling to find the words. In sum, she has a really good personal touch that differentiates the great teachers from the good. I signed up for 20 lessons and plan to stick with her until I am fluent ....and beyond!

I cannot recommend them highly enough. Going back to high school, I had a terrific experience working with Advantage on my college entrance exams. Even though I hated studying in school, I genuinely enjoyed working with AT's teachers. Aside from being gifted instructors, they are some of the friendliest people you'll meet, and they seem to genuinely care about their students. I remember they customized a study plan for me, focusing on the areas of the test that I needed to improve the most. Following their plan, and using the strategies I learned in class, I earned a 760 Verbal, 750 Math I, 790 Writing, and an 800 Math II, all a significant boost above my diagnostic scores (which I recall being in the low ~600 range). Years later, when I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a lawyer, and began looking for the right LSAT test prep service, turning to Advantage was a no-brainer. On my first LSAT practice test, I received a diagnostic evaluation in the 55th percentile. I knew that I would need a significant (aka Elle Woods-level) jump in my LSAT score to have a decent shot at the top schools. That's when Advantage came in. Studying with Advantage tutors, you learn to break down each section of the test into a set of consistent techniques, which you hone and solidify over repeated practice tests. After months of test prep, I took the LSAT and scored a 99th percentile on the official exam. Equipped with a great LSAT score, I was admitted to my top choice for law school, a feat that had seemed impossible only a few months prior. Now, as a practicing attorney looking back on it, I am certain I would not have been nearly as well prepared with any other test prep service. In sum, I don't think there is anyone as professional or effective as Advantage when it comes to the hard work of preparing for high-stakes entrance exams. I recommend them without hesitation.
