Once you go inside, you'll be lost in browsing knickknacks and wall plaques and stacks and stacks of books, boxes, and antique trinkets. There's a small amount of interesting furniture, tons of decorative items from candles to coasters to vintage figurines, a lot of those popular wooden blocks with sentimental or sassy sayings painted on them, cat and dog related stuff, stationary and greeting cards, a small selection of seasonal decor, and some antique items. It's really a great cozy space to wander around, and it smells lovely too. My mom and I met Doug, an owner, and he was so kind and welcoming. I'm so happy Wrare re-opened here! This is the kind of boutique spot I save for special occasions, like gift shopping or treating myself. It's overall a little too pricey for me. My mom had her eye on some rad twinkle-light little trees, and there were a few candles, a heavy mug with cats on it, and some salsas I was eyeballing! Yep, locally made salsa. I'll be back in November for holiday inspiration and some goodies for my home.

I love finding unique items that you can't get anywhere else, and they always come through -- I end up leaving with stocking stuffers, home décor, and fun gifts for family and friends. They aren't over the top in pricing either. The staff is always so nice and helpful, and I found out on my last visit that they actually have another store on Camp Bowie with a more modern vibe. This location has more of a vintage feel -- and I absolutely love it!

I LOVE the Mercantile!! It's clean and organized, lots of fun finds and various different kinds of…read morethings being sold, I saw no temu / fast fashion JUNK so super pleased with that! I also appreciate that they market themselves as a "Mercantile" and not an "antique store," as many "antique stores" sell a bunch of non-antiques which is frustrating, so I'm grateful for the straightforward and clear marketing! The tea room in the back is super cute, there'll be a separate review for that. I found a couple of darling things for good prices that I'm very excited for, and I was very pleasantly surprised to see several staff members roaming the store, with one kind woman offering to hold our items up front while we shop! This is a 5/5 AMAZING example of what all of these types of shops should be. I will be back with friends!

Updating this review from a year ago. We had previously taken my mother-in-law to the Mercantile…read moreand she found some things she liked so for Mother's Day we decided we were gonna shop for her here. Everything I said about this place in my previous review, still rings true but they do have a lot of clothing that older women find appealing. So we found a beautiful smock blouse, long and floaty in a nice bright red and we brought it up to the counter. It was $160 plus with tax and all the girl did was wad up in a ball and stuff in a bag , but she even had to ask if we wanted a bag. Really these people don't care about what they're selling behind the counter I was appalled Do we want a bag? Did you think we were gonna wear it out? And what of the merchants there wouldn't they appreciate having their stock treated a little bit better with a little bit more respect.?
