    My home vacation resort is in Branson MI. I traded in points and took my parents to Cancun. We stayed at the Westin Lagunamar and it was absolutely gorgeous. Neither my father or mother-in-law had ever been outside the U.S. It was an incredible experience for them. The resort was so accommodating and attentive to all of our needs. The staff was so knowledgeable and were happy to make suggestions that truly helped make this vacation be an experience that we will all treasure for the rest of our lives.

    Best time ever, I love the screened in balcony. I love the view from my room. I love the desk service I received. I love the shuttle availability. The pools were excellent with the music. The kitchen so visitor friendly. You never have to leave your villa if you need rest. Quiet atmosphere is a plus. Shuttle service for those of us who do not have a vehicle deserves a second mention. I love the furnishings, a strong modern look.

    First and LAST time on a Margaritaville cruise…read more The port parking was easy to find. We parked and checked our luggage with the porter. We entered the terminal to check in. Check in was easy but busy. We were assigned the time between 12pm-1pm to check in. Once on the ship, it was down hill. We went to our muster station, which was not labeled to find easily. Completed our muster. Then we went to get lunch from the buffet. The options were limited at the actual buffet area where you serve yourself. They had the buffet, cheeseburgers, tacos, pizza, and sandwiches. The food was mediocre at best this day and throughout the week. It was a struggle to find something to eat that was edible and tasted good. Even the jello was tasteless. Once our room was ready, we went to it. Luggage was not there upon arrival, but it arrived shortly after. It was a struggle with the AC in the room from the moment we checked in. We told our room steward immediately, who said once the ships sets sail, the air would work better. That never happened. It was consistently warm to hot in our room. Guest services was notified a few times via phone and in person. But it was not fixed. Not even sure someone came to our room. We waited several times but we never made contact with the person who came to "fix" it. We made the best of it but it was not comfortable at all. Most of the time we were hot and sweating at night and while in our room getting ready for the day or dinner. Mohamad was fantastic! He was our room steward. He took amazing care of us and our room. Our room was always clean and we always had fresh and clean towels! Entertainment was lacking for sure and limited. There was a lot of time where there was very little to nothing going on and to do. The excursions through the ship were limited as well. We picked to do the Margaritaville Resort in Nassau. We walked off the ship and through the port to transportation. This part was easy and well organized. The resort itself was clean and the staff were friendly. The pool was nice and not crazy crowded. The beach was another story. Absolutely packed and barely room to walk down to the waters edge. Not sure if it's only for Margaritaville Resort guests and day passes or if it's open to the public too. Drink package felt pricey at $360 for 4 days, and this was on sale. We had two port days, one embarkation day, and one sea day. I would NOT ever cruise again with Margaritaville.

It was all going very well until my buddy Pres Trump, issued a new directive, "no more Cuba tourism from the US". That's when it all started going south on me along with my deposit. I was advised to call DMC of Miami and to speak with Laura Valdivia in order to see if she could perform a miracle. She did just that but not immediately, it was back and forth for about 4 weeks. She got all the permits for the plane, got visas for my adult family of 8 and confirmed our visit with the villa owner. She also worked very close with the tour agency in Cuba making sure we were getting what we were requesting, since there was a little bit of a communication problem. It was literally a daily question as to whether or not we were going to be able to travel to Cuba. Laura stayed on top of it and fixed every problem that came up. We were not totally sure if we were going to be allowed to go until 2 days before we traveled. It all worked out in the end and we could not be more pleased with our trip. I highly recommend visiting Cuba as soon as you can because you never know when more restrictions will be put in place. As of right now you can still visit if you fly in on a commercial airline, Laura can fix it. We had a lot of fun with the Cuban people, they are very kind and respectful always trying to please and to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Laura and Sheyla exceeded our expectations in every way! They planned an amazing four day itinerary with lunches and dinners at the best restaurants, tours, cigars and rum, classic cars, and beaches. They found an amazing villa that worked perfectly for our group. Logistics ran so smoothly. We had our personal driver with us all weekend. They have amazing connections on the island. They worked within our budget and helped everyone with their visas and travel documents. Our trip was so special because of their personal touch. I can't say enough!!

My policy with minimal coverage, living in Miami was almost $10,000. I called them Aug 24, 2025 to request only fire coverage, liability, law & ordinance at 25%, (state minimal) They gave it 10%. As I was told, they don't like doing that. I had to do some fast talking with Kathye. An hour & a 1/2 conversation with me, putting me on hold about 1/2 of that time: she finally gave me an approximate quote. I was told I would hear from them in approximately 24 hours. She must have made up that quote! I left for vacation the following day. I never heard anything. So Tuesday July 29 through August 6, including Sunday, I called them everyday to find out what my quote was. They gave me excuses. Your paperworks not filled out correctly. The final person I spoke with, Herbert actually left me a message the day before my policy expired that the underwriter still hadn't responded. Then they charged me the almost $10,000 via bill pay. Mind you, I called Steven the day before it was expired and told him to cancel my policy and under no terms use my credit card for "automatic bill pay"! He told me it wouldn't be!

After those 2 hours of waiting they updated the time to another 3 hours and never showed up. Apparently they are using a company called Ice Towing in Miami but they do not give you their number. Updates are received after the window so you really never know for sure how long you will be waiting. In the past AAA would send alerts to your phone constantly. Do no spend the $$ on membership and just call a local company that will give you a definite time.

    Wonderful location, but frustrating stay with odd design choices and very weak service…read more The biggest positive about AC Hotel Miami Dadeland is the location since it's directly connected to the mall, which is incredibly convenient. Unfortunately, much of the rest of the stay was frustrating from the start. Finding where to check in is confusing at first, and before arrival I called to ask if early check-in might be available. I explained that if a room wasn't ready, I'd spend time elsewhere before coming to the hotel. I was told they could not tell me unless I appeared in person, which served no practical purpose and was incredibly annoying. Even then, when I returned by 3:30 p.m. there was no room anyway and we sat in the tiny lobby with our bags. The front desk service was average at best. Not rude, but not welcoming either. I genuinely felt more tolerated than helped, and eventually just avoided interacting with them. I wasn't even told about any amenity they offered or even where the elevators were. Just got my key handed to me - not even telling me my room number. Having spent years working in hospitality many years ago this level of "service" stood out in a bad way. Also, the room layout is one of the strangest I've seen: The sink sits in the middle of the room rather than in the bathroom, so using it at night wakes anyone sleeping. The bathroom has a sliding door (not a pocket door) that remains partially open, and you can literally see the toilet from the bedroom. Privacy is almost nonexistent. Going to the bathroom is basically a team sport. Trash cans have no liners, and when we requested bags they were delivered but not installed. Housekeeping was inconsistent and usually incomplete. The bath mat was routinely left inside the shower, meaning turning on the water could soak it before you even stepped in. The housekeeping staff themselves weren't unfriendly, but they often stood in the hallway having loud conversations, which was disruptive. When you walk by the housekeeping team start doing random things like dusting signage so it seemed they were busy. One true bright spot: the bartender Jocelyn. She was fantastic, welcoming, and made excellent drinks (the Nutella martini is outstanding). Unfortunately, even that was dampened by an automatic 18% gratuity added to the bar bill. I normally tip 20% anyway, but a business deciding that I am going to tip and also the tip amount without clear advance notice is inappropriate and leaves a bad impression. Overall, the hotel feels highly overrated. The location is excellent, but the service, layout, and operational issues made the stay more frustrating than relaxing. I would stay somewhere else next time and simply come back to the bar which ironically the best part of the property.
