I needed a very special battery for my electric truck. The people at batteries plus told me it didn't exist. I made a phone call to these people, and the guy I talked to on the phone REALLY knew what he was talking about. This isn't one of those "I'll look it up in the book" type places. It was about Thanksgiving, and he looked at all the interstate warehouses in the country -- nope! Wasn't one in the system. He PUT IT in the system, and said that they could have one made for me, and it would get to their distribution center around Dec 9. I called around Dec 12, and it was on the way -- its in my truck today (Dec 17). Everyone I spoke to, or dealt with in person were professionals. Damn, its hard to find anyone that actually knows the business they are in. These people surprised me. A side note: I ended up with the battery I wanted at the same price as an online catalog, NO SHIPPING or handling BS! Bravo!... I am a guy with bizarre battery needs, and these people will be the first place I look in the future. read more

On December 22, 2018 I had a problem with my batteries on my 1993 Ford F250 Diesel Truck. Understand this problem occurred because of my mistake and they were not Interstate Batteries. I don't live in Albuquerque but nobody in my town would help me so I called Interstate and almost started crying when I explained what was going on. The sweet gentleman on the phone calmed me down and told me to not worry, just to come in and he will help me, so I did. When I showed up he smiled and said, "Let's take a look." We went outside, he looked at the batteries and told me what was wrong. He said he could take care of this so it will not happen again, cleaned up the batteries, that's right this truck has 2 batteries, and he didn't charge me a dime. He was so sweet and understanding and when I told him what I did to cause this he just smiled and said "We've all done it". I never did get his name, if I did I would be putting here. Due to his sweet nature and professional attitude Interstate batteries have a customer for life. That's right, I will drive the hour away to Albuquerque to get new batteries for everything I own that needs to be replaced all because of how I was treated that day. DO NOT BUY INTERSTATE BATTERIES - This place is a rip off! Tried to bring the battery back under warranty (one of their top-of-the-line AGM Batteries) and said even though my battery showed that it was on the cusp of failure, it did not show that it was bad enough to do an exchange and could do nothing for me. I can't start my truck until I put on a battery charger each time I want to use it. UNSAT!!! Very poor customer service - Go to Sears and get a DieHard Battery. Lesson learned! read more

Tried to bring back a battery that was under warranty, but it was unable to hold a charge. The guy working says, "I need to charge battery for two days in order to cover the warranty." I explained I can't be without a vehicle for that long and his response.."that's all I can do for you. Have a good day." This is the third battery I have purchased that had failed prematurely (two different vehicles). I will never buy from here again and recommend nobody else does either. read more

Purchased a battery for my daughters car from these guys and she recently took it to them twice to have the battery tested and they stated the battery was fine. She broke down at work had to have car towed to mechanic and end up paying 240.00 for diagnostics and a new battery since the battery was no good. What a professional and "beyond the call" staff! I bought an AGM battery for my truck camper a while back, and did the thing you should never do- checked everything too close to the time a trip was planned. Departure set for Sunday, and I find that battery is very discharged, enough that my fancy battery charger wouldn't charge it. I called over to Interstate Corrales, and spoke with Emilio. He told me (not surprisingly) that I needed to bring the battery in. I had a zillion things to do and was worried about having to make a trip from Belen to Corrales, not only to drop the battery off, but to pick it up the next day. I happened to mention that I lived in Belen and Emilio said that he lived in Belen too, and that he could DELIVER the battery to me after they figured out what was going on with it!! And that's exactly what happened! Took the battery in, Robert helped me with it and then Emilio delivered the battery to my door that evening, fully charged and ready to go. My total cost was ZERO dollars! I Called early on a Friday morning to see if they had a battery for a hummer H1( double battery). I drove all the way from Gallup and bought two gel batteries ( best they had). A young, professional looking gentlemen walked me out front and helped me raise the hood when another fellow started working in replacing the batteries. All pretty routine until... Apparently gel batteries are slightly larger than regular batteries and nothing is easy when your working on a Hummer. While I was watching the battery get changed I struck up some small talk with the manger. Once he saw that the job was getting a little complicated he jumped right in there and helped get me dialed in. The place is a very organized, clean and the staff looks great with their business professional apparel. I was impressed and believe me, I'm hard to impress when it comes to service. Needless to say , even though it is a long drive, I will never buy a battery any place but here. P.S: I also did notice they have a wide variety of cell phone batteries, watch batteries, camera batteries, alarm system batteries really any kind of battery you can think of. Unprofessional staff. When pulling up to Interstate there was an employee standing near the front door smoking, I get it that he needs a break but move to the end of the building please. When entering the business I was quickly greeted by two other employees right away, impressive. However, when explaining I purchased my Ford Explorer from Carmax a year ago and suspected that my Interstate battery was installed at that time believing it to be covered under the manufacturer warranty one of the employees began arguing with me explaining that Carmax does not replace batteries - not a good start. They do if the vehicle requires a new battery and why my vehicle had new tires, the vehicle needed them. OK... I'm a blond woman but pretty intelligent (most days). I'm very patient so shrugged this off. We proceeded to my vehicle with the two men. One of the men checked fluids, checked the battery level... as he was doing this I mentioned that when my husband had to jump my car he looked for the date of manufacture on the battery but could not locate it - this would have given us a better idea as to if it was covered under a warranty. One of the men explained that the battery date was proprietary and coded but then pointed out where it was, OK, that was weird. He then went on to tell me that even though my battery had a 2013 manufacture date it was not covered under the 6 yr warranty because the label was missing. Hmm. OK. But he went on to tell me that I could have went to U-Pull it or any junk yard to find a used good battery to buy to get a free battery replacement! WHAT??? This was so unprofessional I couldn't even believe it. I'm sorry but I'm a middle aged professional woman driving a $35K vehicle who can obviously afford a new battery. To insinuate that I may be a thief was extremely offensive and unprofessional. About this time the one man left started smoking right in front of me. I left the business after bluntly explaining that I understand the label missing is a company policy but I will purchase a new battery from another business where I will receive professional service and future warranty replacement. I kind of get the label thing but I don't get the accusations. This is unfortunate because this business is in my neighborhood and I support local businesses. BTW... my husband took my vehicle to Interstate Battery on 1st street. They were very helpful, professional, and the owner approved to replace my battery at a prorated amount under the warranty. I will ensure that no one I know will spend their hard earned money at the Westside location, which is owned separately, but will recommend they go to Interstate Batteries on 1st St. read more

I came in to the Interstate all battery center thinking that all they had was car and truck batteries and to my amazement they had the my Cell Phone for my Galaxy NOTE 4 and my wife's Galaxy S5. And as they got the batteries for us I noticed that they have the batteries that go to my alarm system as the back up. The staff was super helpful and quick to answer any and all questions that we had. About a week later my wife dropped het Galaxy S5 and broke the screen so bad that it didn't light up so I took it in to Interstate all battery center and they fixed the screen in about 1 hour. I had no idea that Interstate did so many different things. All I can say is that Interstate all battery center is a one stop shop. They have helped me out with so many thing that I had one idea they could be fixed or brought back to life with just a battery. read more

This morning on my way to work my car wouldn't start. I got a jump and headed to the store to get a new battery. When I walked in I was greeted right away by the two staff members. I explained to one of the men that I needed a new battery. He asked if I wanted him to test the battery first. So we went out to my car and as he was about to take the battery out he said that I had a loose connection and asked if I still wanted my battery tested. I said yes (better safe than sorry). We went back inside and turns out my battery was good. He brought my battery back out and hooked it up. He tightened the terminals and viola my car started right away.
