I should have read the Yelp reviews before I brought my Xk8 to this facility. Codes indicated rich on bank one and bank two. Asked them to check EVAP with turn out to be fine. They claimed MAF need to be changed. Went to pick up the car paid bill number one. Started car new codes came on in the parking lot. They said leave it they will fix it. They changed the MAF cleared the codes and I paid bill number two. A drive to Newport and home produced same codes. New estimate was $11,700. Clearly they do not know what they are doing. New garage that specializes with Jaguar found the issue was 4 fuel injectors. read more

Outstanding Experience- After my electric Jaguar was at the Jaguar dealership for 89 days and still not fixed, I had it towed to IMG. Carl and his service technician had it fixed in two days for significantly less than what the dealership would have charged. A+ experience!!! read more

Wouldn't buy or take any car there for any service. Purchased a car I drove for three days. Took it back day after I purchased due to a loud tick/clanging noise from the engine. They out oil in it and told me to "drive it for 1000 miles. On the third day I returned the car and was told they would keep it for 10 or so days. Needles to say as I write this I still don't have my car back!!! They have had it for over a month now. Update to follow! Bad service, bad communication (none really)! My relationship with this automotive repair place has ended. I sent my Jaguar XJ8 in for a new headlight repair. They did a great job with that. What they did wrong, was tell my husband that the serpentine belt was bad, there was fluid leaking on the engine and a slew of other items. Mind you, my car had just spent 3 weeks with other Jaguar Certified Mechanics and other mechanics that are highly trusted. All of these things were looked at a day before it even went to this shop because I know they can be dodgy buggers. I know cars. When my husband called me and told me what the company was trying to do, I immediately called them and told them, that they were only touching the headlight and I was sick of these shenanigans and if I found anything tampered with it would be serious. They tried to tell me they did not tell my husband any of that stuff. The things my husband told me were very specific and he isn't a car guy. Why on earth would he make this stuff up? I asked the guy if he was calling my husband a liar? I told him all of the aforementioned work that had been done by the Jaguar certified folks and he suddenly started to backtrack. This was really unethical. There was other work I was seeking to have done as I love my car and hate the new Jags. They won't be laying a hand on my Coventry cat ever again due to this unethical behavior. read more

The dealership has always been good to us. We have purchased several vehicles from them over the years. We have also sent many friends to them. They always took care of us when we had car problems. Until recetly... We purchased a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe from them. We had it for a little more than a month and only put about 100 miles on it. Went out on morning and it was dead. Figured it was the battery. We were able to jump it and drove it a little to charge the battery. Got home, turned it off, and...dead. Jumped it once more and took it to Advaned Auto to test the battery. It was low but not bad. Could not start it again. Had it towed to International to be looked at. They told us it was the starter. To replace it would be around $738 with a 10% discount. We called our usual mechanic. They told us $422. We told International we are going to have it towed to our guy. They told us they could do it for $550. We decided to have them do it. It would save the hassle of towing it again. We picked it up the next day. Got a bill for $616. They charged for the "courtesy" loaner, which was a nasty little car. The handle even fell off the driver door. Plus the repair. Then wanted to charge us another $230 to replace the battery. We complained to the dealership in person. The owner's son and a woman. They told us to talk to the owner after explaining to them what had happened. We thought the owner would have called us the next day. Nothing. It's been a few days now. Still nothing. They have lost our business. We are VERY disappointed after giving them so many sales. In the shop for repairs after only 1 month. My husband is a mailman. Word of mouth spreads quickly. read more

I had my Porsche 944 towed to International Motor Group in the very beginning of January as it was not running. They asked if the car could stay awhile which I was good with as it was a winter car. The car spent a total of 60 days there in which I was billed for 14 hours of labor at $170 per hour.  Upfront I had to agree to 6 hours labor just to diagnose the problems with the car. I sent a specific list of problems for them to check. Not running, oil leak, coolant leak and some electrical problems.  Most of the time, I spoke with Carl the manager or Bobby his assistant, which both avoided taking or returning calls. I was originally told the car had oil leaks in multiple locations as it's a 35 year old car. The coolant leak was identified to be the radiator, I personally never saw the radiator leaking, but I had them replace it because they claimed it let go in their parking lot. Prior to the car going to International Auto I observed the coolant and oil leaking in the same place, passenger side towards the middle of the car. The issue of the car not running was fixed with 2 crankshaft position sensors at $300 each including their 35% markup on parts. They also stated some vacuum lines were repaired and corrected by a previous repair done at another shop. They told me the electrical issues were fixed as well, however they could not tell me how.  I was advised the car was running good and it was ready to be picked up. I picked up the car and drove it home, during the ride home I could smell the car was still running rich. The next day I moved the car, there was a coolant and oil puddle in the driveway. The oil and the coolant was still leaking from the very same place prior to bringing the car in for service.So, I had the car towed back to them. When they contacted me I advised them the car was still leaking oil and coolant, they stated they would get right on it. I was pretty upset when I spoke with Bobby about this, after all I had just spent $3,200 dollars for the last repairs. I again had to call the next day to get an update, Bobby stated that they were leaning towards the water pump but didn't have confirmation or cost to repair. Bobby called me later that day stating it was the water pump and it was going to cost about $2,400 more dollars to replace it. Bobby also stated the car was running rich because it needs an O2 sensor. During this conversation I stressed some concerns, Bobby then ended the conversation by telling me I need to speak with Carl. Bobby stated that Carl would call me back shortly after he was done with a test drive. All I wanted to know was how they came to the conclusion that the water pump was bad, and I asked Carl this when he finally called me back the next day. Carl based his diagnosis on a random drip that was on the bottom of the timing belt cover. This sounded wrong to me, I strongly disagreed with him, Carl agreed to recheck the car. Carl called back a short time later stating the oil cooler was the problem. I considered having them do the repair to the oil cooler because the car was already there. The cost for that repair was around $700. I then asked Carl if they would give me a discount on the cost since they mis-diagnosed the car and his reply was,"no, I have to pay my mechanic." My overall experience at International Motor Group was terrible at best, their practice of documentation and communication was very poor and their judgement and knowledge is clearly questionable. If they were good mechanics they would have diagnosed the car correctly the first time, admitted when they did it incorrectly and came to a negotiable/reasonable price to correct the issue. 60 days is too long for it to be done wrong, then done again. Lack of Accuracy, failed communication and overcharging is my reason for making International Auto Group your last option in Foregin mechanical work.  To say they work with local Porsche dealers is a disgrace to the brand and Porsche should encourage this not to continue. Bad customer service with their warranty policy as well....might as well call it WARRANTY FRAUD! they wouldnt tell me how much the repairs were gunna cost to my car until after they ran all the tests and diagnostics on it (that were not needed) and then go thru the warranty to see what they will cover without letting me EVER see the warranty.... and then tell me the cost afterwards. Which could have been any amount of $$$!!! They would not tell me the cost before hand and they actually got into a almost PHYSICAL argument with me and my sister over it, and eventually with my DAD as well because they wanted to basically do whatever they wanted to my car and charge me later on.... without ever telling me a actual price. When I have an extended warranty and they wouldnt even go over it with me, WHEN I have had this fix done to my car before without a problem or cost $$$.... now they insisted they needed to do the work first on a saturday and the warranty company would be in on MONDAY! the owner threatened to get PHYSICAL, coming at us with over and over again with his nasty finger in our faces, and tried to smash my sisters phone against the wall while telling us to WATCH OURSELVES.... over and over again. I see other reviews on fb and google in regards to warranty problems with this company as well... and not only that, but they rent out cars from the 80s that smell and look like shit and expect you to use and pay for them... if not, they tell you to take your car elsewhere. Normally I don't take the time to sit down and write a review; however, if this review even helps ONE customer it was worth my time. I do not have many positive things to say about this establishment. I must say I was pretty Impressed with their inventory so It easily allowed me to be drawn to their dealership. It was very obvious that they "judge a book by its cover" and clearly have the "old school" practice of taking advantage of a woman buyer. Unfortunate for them, they truly didn't know who they were about to deal with. I allowedTony to play his condescending games and dancing around the mulberry bush with his misinformation and exaggerating visions of the vehicles of interest. After this display of condescending and almost borderline narcissistic behavior, I came back with some actual FACTS about the vehIcles and questioned that why when I started the vehicle not of the dash lights came on and then shut off once the engine engages ( oil, check engine, seat belt) could it be because it's been disconnected?? Could the check engine light be on and you don't want me to know that?? There were also other issues on this test ride and he was starting to stutter realizing he was not dealing with your typical "woman driver" even though she looked like a sophisticated, professional in a suit who is " probably" spending her "husband's money" is what I believe his word's were. He didn't quite give me any direct answers to my questions yet I was not backing down, he finally said that the vehicle we were driving would have to be "looked over" for electrical issues. I stated well I would think as you stated as we were driving that ALL vehicles are totally gone through before put on the lot for complete safety. I could see I had pushed him very hard into that corner, and must say kinda smirked with a smile as I did so, for in his mind he deserved someone to slap his controlling authoritative personality in his face..Sorry Tony... you ran into the wrong woman that day! I honestly had positive intentions walking in; yet if you took the time to observe they welcome you like a best friend yet if you ask too many questions or decide to question something suddenly your on the other team and Tony or his brother will get in your face and become extremely unprofessional. Brought my car in for periodic problems with my windshield wipers and a/c. Serviced and was told there were no problems, but issues resurfaced again after I got my car back. Spent over a hundred dollars for something that wasn't fixed. Called and told them the condition with the a/c was still present, and they said there was really nothing they could do due to the intermittent nature of problem. Disappointed they couldn't pinpoint the problem a little more accurately. read more

I just moved to NC, but I wanted to leave a fair comment about this business to my fellow car shoppers in RI, please please be aware of this place, nothing but junk cars, their vehicles are fixed only to sell and the major issues are hidden, we purchase a BMW and a little over month later the problems started, we were not even done making the first payment and the car had to be fixed, this people charged us $75 just to look at the car, and to fix it they wanted over $500, we explained that was just purchased they took a day to ask the owner what to do and came back with some ridiculous 10 or 20% discount !!! WE HAD JUST PURCHASED THE CAR! My other car was purchased at Balisse (previously Fiore) in Warwick, and when the car had issues up to a year they fixed everything without questions or other fees.This guys at International Motors wouldn't budge aside form the rudeness and stand offish service at their mechanics branch right down the road. If you need more info look around the major search engines, you will find a lot of people very disappointed. I wish I read the reviews before we got stuck with a piece of junk. read more

Ha! The story only gets more interesting! Check up the update bellow :) This place is best avoided! I brought my car in for diagnostics. They were so incompetent, that they couldn't even read the status of the on-board computer from the OBD port. But because they wanted to make some money out of my visit, they 'invented' a list of problems that my car supposedly have, which they offered to 'fix'. I refused, and got the car inspected at another garage. Non of the 'problems' were confirmed there. So, this place is really best avoided. ----------------------------------------- This is how the story developed after my initial posting here on YELP: OK, so here we are, one month later, and I have received a "Call In Notice" from the State Inspection Station of Rhode Island (325 Melrose Street, Providence), telling me to bring my car for inspection. I did so immediately, and learned that the good fellas at International have reported their 'findings' to the DMV, so the DMV had to check if they were real or not. Guess what? They were NOT. Except for one of them, which the state inspector said is minor but still advised me to address, ALL of the problems they 'invented' my car had were not there at all... On top of that - and that's the interesting part - the state inspection station did find a problem on my car, which the 'specialists' at International were supposed to find, but they didn't. And it was a serious enough problem, which seemed to have been present for months (not something that developed in the last weeks). So, to summarize my impressions of that garage: - Incompetent (failed to read the OBD); - Greedy (wanted to 'fix' - and charge me for - non-existant problems); - Malicious (reported their false findings to the DMV); - Incompetent again (failed to detect a major problem on the car). If you want such people working on your car - go to 'International' ! For everybody else - stay away from their garage :) read more

I just had a truly terrible experience with the International Motor Group. I have recently purchased a low mileage, 2012 Mercedes E 550 Convertible. The car prompted me that a B7 service was due, so I called Viti ( the local Mercedes dealer) to get a quote on the service. They went through all that was included( oil change, oil filter, cabin filter, air filter,replace wipers, adjust windows and inspect mechanical on the convertible top, etc.) and quoted me 725.00. I had heard that International also serviced Mercedes and that they were more reasonably priced so I called them. I was told that the typical B service was in the $4-500 range. I decided to take a shot at it and made an appointment. They gave me a loaner ( a Ford Focus which was not clean) which was ok, but certainly not what I would have gotten from Viti. I picked the car up this morning and low and behold the cost was 822.00 . In the process of getting into the car, I also noticed a prominent door ding on the driver door that I am absolutely positive was not there when I dropped it off. I know because I just had brought the car to my auto body guy because of a scratch on the same door that I want him to fix, along with a few other cosmetic items. We went over the car with a fine toothed comb and that door ding was certainly not there. I noticed it as soon as they brought the car out to me. I told the woman at the desk that the door was dinged and she went out and looked at it and assured me the tech who worked on the car was very careful and that it looked pretty old to her. Again, the door was absolutely not damaged when I brought it in. Further, a review of what I received for 822.00 after I got home showed they did not check the soft top or the window seals. In summary, not only did I not get the same service, I paid more than I would off at the Mercedes dealer and I got a nice , big door ding to boot. I get a kick out of people who get pissed when mechanics actually do their JOB. My wife and I will always have our cars maintained by International Motor Group because one of the technicians named John literally saved our lives about two years ago when he discovered a badly rotted part of the rear suspension on an Expedition that I brought in for a state inspection. Was I HAPPY about the unexpected repair? Of course not, but it was a LOT better than dying if I had gone to another shop who did me a "favor" by slapping a sticker on the car. I had my BMW repaired here last week, and everything went smoothly. They installed my liquid cooled alternator for a reasonable price, and did a synthetic oil change/filter. $80 for the 6qt. oil service was a great deal. My car was ready to go at 3:30 when I arrived. I had a great experience with Barbara Stenner at International Motor Group's Service Department. Actually, it was a unique experience as well. The fuel gauge on our 2008 ML350 stopped working for some reason. We took it to a private repair shop that does great work. For reasons too complicated to explain, our mechanic suggested we take it to a dealership to avoid paying for parts that we might not need to repair the gauge. A Ford dealership service department supervisor suggested I call Barbara Stenner at International because she is smart and ethical and her company is well regarded for their repair service. So, I did. I dropped by and she discussed the problem with me, gathered my car information, and ON HER OWN called Viti Mercedes in Tiverton discussed the car's problem, gave them our warranty information and cleared the way for us to have them do the work. We have scheduled that appointment. I mention this because Barbara did some computer and telephone research and spent time on the phone with Viti on our behalf knowing her company would not make a dime on the repair. It's like the good ol' days when businesses went out of their way to help you, to be kind or neighborly, without getting anything in return. I really appreciated Barbara's efforts and it told me a lot about her and her company. It's that kind of care that will bring me back to Barbara and International in the future. If they cared that much about our problem, I suspect they will do a great job when they do our future repairs. read more

These guys were great! Persistent to a comfortable level. I'd receive text messages from them occasionally to check up on how my decision making process was going-- and I'm okay with that. In fact, I'd rather have them text me any day then constantly call me while I'm at work. They took the car I originally wanted and managed to come down to my price range, and when I eventually turned that vehicle down because it was too small, they looked for other cars that would suit me and my budget. They were so nice I almost felt bad for getting a car somewhere else -- but what can I say? I'm picky when it comes to cars. I have a 2011 bmw 3 series and needed a new battery in the car bmw quoted me $510.00 for a battery which I did not buy and purchased thru interstate which cost me $129.00. After I installed the battery all the warning lights came on and I needed to get the battery registered to the cars computer. I called inskip again to ask how much it would be to clear the codes and register the battery they told me $378.00 plus tax. I googled international auto and called the quote was $115 and they took me in immediately very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I was there about 40 min max and everything was done I highly recommend these guys for all your auto service needs they also gave me a military discount too. All in all I'm extremely pleased and will recommend to anyone and will be returning for future service of my car. The dealership had a nice 2011 BMW 328i that I was looking at. Their sales team is very responsive and very quick to put a quote together. They are also very good at at outlining preliminary financial package, given you provide them with enough information. I also enjoyed being able to go thoroughly through the car at my own pace and no pressure. I Moved to RI recently and needed a wheel alignment in my car to fix a problem with badly wearing tires. Brought my car here because they were near where I worked. They overcharged me for the alignment and charged me for tire rotation too even though i didnt tell them to do that. I let it slide becuase i was just happy to get my alignment finally fixed. 6 months later i looked at my tires and the same problem with bad tire wear was happening, just more slowly than before. this means these guys didnt align my car properly at all and they just charged me an exhorberant fee for it. Overall expereince is poor, these guys are dishonest, and incompetant. Avoid at all cost. read more

I found this dealership's site through carsforsale.com. I was pretty impressed with their inventory especially that they had MANY photos of all of their cars (at least the ones I was interested in). I decided to take the hour plus ride to Warwick, RI. I was glad I did. I was able to find the car I saw without any trouble. I was thrilled to see that it looked exactly as it did in the pictures. It was in pristine condition. Seriously - I did not find one knick on this beauty. I breathed a sign of relief that my time was not wasted on this trip. After just a few minutes I was greeted by Paul. Nice guy the whole time. relaxed, not pushy, had the answers to my questions, took me on a test drive without hesitation. The whole car buying process can be tricky when you're a woman shopping alone. I've been through it a few times and can honestly say that I base a large part of my decision on my experience with the dealership. That experience starts with the first person I encounter. I brought my 2002 Volvo in for routine maintenance and other issues that needed to be resolved. I was able to make an appointment to drop off my vehicle and was treated wonderfully.
