For six months I searched the inernet for a used Mini Cooper and finally found one with the right price, miles, and age at Sandy Motors in Coventry, RI. I knew I had found a good deal, but what gimmick would be attached to this sale? I wondered: Would there be numerous fees attached? Sleezy high pressure sales tactics? Something else to make me hate the whole process? I drove an hour from Connecticut to find out. The Mini handles well during the test drive. The salesman kept mostly quiet, unless I asked a question. OK, I was ready to do battle and negotiate, even though I knew the car was $3500 below book value! However, there was no negotiation! What? I thought I was supposed to get "double teamed" by the manager or other salesman. No, $11,900 was the price. If I wanted it, I only needed to leave a $100 deposit. Take it or leave it. There was only a $75 fee attached to the whole process. Being a member NFCU, I could get a loan at 3.99%, but Bob did his homework and found me a better deal. Still, I had saved money for this moment for years and showed up with a stack of $100 bills the following week. No problem, Bob said. He carefully put together the paperwork I would need to register the vehicle in CT. The car was clean and serviced with an oil change and new rare brakes. I drove home happy, but what problems would I encounter in 2 weeks? It is now 2 weeks later and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Thanks guys. We had a wonderful experience working with John and Steve to get my wife her first BMW 128 convertible which had very low miles and in excellent condition. We went to RI all the way from NJ to buy the car and John was very accommodating, even coming in late at night so we could pick up the car. John has a very friendly voice, gentle demeanor, was very honest about the price of the car, miles, price, carfax, and didn't try to sell us the car like some used car sales men we had called. They washed and prepared the car for pick up and John even made sure it had a full tank of gas before we drove 4 hrs back to Jersey. I highly recommend them because of how smooth John made the transaction and even worked with my credit union directly. My only recommendation is to make sure that they receive the check from your bank before you attempt to go pick up the car since they don't release cars until paid in full. Were a great help! I loved being able to go online and fill out the credit app before i went down. Within about an hour of filling out the app John called to let me know I was approved we scheduled a test drive and I was here right after work last Wednesday. I drove a Chrysler 200 that I was approved for (my first time driving one) Loved the look but it was a tad small for my liking, Glenn who I was working with gave me they keys to a few other cars in the same price range to let me compare them . It was like a breath of fresh air...NO PRESSURE he just let me take my time with out hovering over me! About an hour later I decided I wanted to drive a Ford Taurus they had, loved everything about it! I have a deposit down on it as we speak and am scheduled to pick it up after work on Friday! Purchased 2011 Ford Escape about one week ago and just picked it up over the weekend. Very clean, was amazed how much care they put into making there vehicles as nice if not as nice a buying new. The price was about 2000 below all other dealers..when I asked why they told me they try to work hard to get vehicles as nice as possible and keep the price as low as possible. Overall i was VERY HAPPY with my experience and how I was treated...very nice people to deal with. I saw a few bad reviews on here on help about them but Im not sure why...I know some used vehicles have problems and you can not tell when something may break...But from all my friends and family who have purchased here they all rave on how great Sandy Motors is and they take care of you very well! Was looking for a f-150 and didnt want to spend over 12,000...found a yellow one form a dealer in warwick and they sold if before we even got there...drove by sandy motors and saw a 2006 f-150 and fell in love was the one i wanted...my husband and i were very happy we found this truck we needed out of my PT crusier...John our salesmen and later we found out was the manager was so nice!!! We wanted 1,000 for our trade and he didnt even try to knock it he said lets do it! He was very excited to help us we got a great truck for less then we wanted to spend....Also Bob U the finiance manager was so fun and nice to work with and be around in his office made us laugh and enjoy our time there. Our last car came from a big chain and after we bought it felt like we could have done a lot better. I have met the family who owns Sandy Motors at a few events a couple of times,My wife purchased a Honda from them about 4 years ago, I have a 2002 Honda i got from a friend with only 50K on it. Purchased a 2008 Ford Explorer, Looked at very similar ones at local dealers but there prices seem way to high, Sandy Motors had a great deal that I could just not pass up.
