I would not recommend doing business with Aqua Tech. Reason: I received a bill for repairs that Aqua Tech did not perform. The only thing they did was come out to give an estimate of what it would cost to repair the said hot tub. There was no mention via the phone, email or their website about a $130 estimate/trip charge. The tech did not perform any service except to write down what I told him I thought was wrong with it. He was here less than 5 minutes and left without leaving an estimate. That was on 8/14/2024. Three weeks later, 9/4/2024, I received an estimate, but we had already repaired the hot tub. We had thought since they did not get back to us in a timely matter, they were not interested in doing the repairs. I told them at that time that we would not be using their service since the repairs were already complete. Again, there was no mention of any trip estimate charge or bill sent to me. On 10/14/2024 I received an email from Aqua Tech requesting that I pay $130 for hot tub services on a bill that was 3 months past due. This is the first time I received any correspondence from them since 9/4. I called them to find out what the $130 was for and was told that it was a trip charge for the estimate. Again, I was never told about the estimate charge, and it does not mention anything about a trip charge on their website, aquatechutah.com. I told them I was not responsible for it and to produce any document signed by me agreeing to the charge. She said it would be taken care of then hung up on me. This was on 10/15/2024. On Friday, 10/18/24 I received a letter from a collections agency requesting the $130 and threatened to report if not paid. Now I'm dealing with a collections agency. read more

Not sure what other reviewers were complaining about. From the moment I walked in I was warmly greeted, then directed to the Service Department. There I had a lovely young woman schedule service. After that I got a thorough orientation on pool mechanics from Derek. He took lots of time finding a replacement motor for my dead pump. Then he went above and beyond by lending me his personal sump pump to help get my filthy pool cover clear of water and debris. Great service, happy place. Two years later- I recently received the worst customer service ever from the woman behind the counter, so my wife and I have changed pool companies. Two years ago, Aquatech replaced our pool heater, and pool filter. They knew we were new pool owners, yet didn't think to show us how to clean our filters. Today, two years later, the new pool company showed me how to change out and or clean those filters. To think that Aquatech never bothered to show us a simple operation like that, which caused significant troubles later on, seems indicative of their level of service. read more

Bought a spa from this place many years ago. That experience was positive. This review is about their service department. My spa developed a leak so I arranged for a tech to come out. They were scheduling a few weeks out so I booked an appointment for the next month. The technician did show up but then left indicating that he needed to talk to his boss. He never came back. Two days later I called and spoke the service manager who said they were still trying to figure it out and he would call me later that day. He never called. I left a message ... never got a call back. Meanwhile the side panels of my spa were left laying around. Strangely, I don't think I ever paid for the service call ... they just walked away altogether. So, I just wasted about 5 weeks assuming they would help fix my spa. Now I have to find another company and go through this again. read more

Better to go with a different pool builder. They are all hot to have you sign a contract to build, but their customer service is crap. The woman that answers the phone acts as if it is your privilege to speak with her, and then when you are transferred, either no one answers or they don't return your call. They mounted the diving board crookedly, the steps to the pool are barely big enough to put your foot on, and everything is an expensive upgrade (notwithstanding, you are already paying over $100K for a basic design.) They use Thinset to set the tile, which should only be used inside your home, because it is temperature specific to interiors only. Exteriors in Utah can range from below freezing (for days on end) to triple digits in the summer. So naturally we had to replace tile within two years of the original build. Save yourself the trouble. Do your homework first and pass on this company. (Please, Aquatech, get new leadership. Your customers deserve better.) read more

Aquatech has provided our pool service for nearly 20 years. They have very capable & helpful service and parts departments and their water testing service is great. They have recently helped us upgrade our equipment & were very thoughtful & thorough in the planning & install. In my opinion, the worst place to go for a hot tub/spa; and parts. I purchased a spa from Aquatech about a month ago, and they have been nothing but rude to myself and my wife. To this day I have jets that fall out of place and Aquatech will not warranty them. Furthermore, I've been told that I can purchase chemicals and a "solar pad" yet when I go to the store to ask for these items I'm told "nobody make those". I replied "nobody makes sodium bisulfate?" I called and talked with Ryan Cervenka; he told myself and my wife that we're using the spa too much and there is nothing wrong. They no very little about chemicals and the equipment they sell. I had to inform Mr. Cervenka that something can be done about the chemistry in the spa; such as 'as per my owners manual' states that I can run 75% hard 25% soft water if ph, alkalinity, and calcium hardness won't balance out. He had no idea and chose to blame me for the problems I'm having. I've called other spa dealers and they were more than happy to help me, so I've chosen to use another company that know, and employs people that know how to balance my water. In my opinion, the worst customer service ever. Dona hung up on me twice and then proceeded to blame me by saying "you don't know how to use the phone." After a brief conversation Dona had told me to stop talking, (I was explaining the problem I am having) then hung up on me for a second time. In my opinion Just the worst place to get a hot tub from. Don't by from Aquatech. Well Derek H. or Brad Bjorndal, whom ever replied; it's almost been a month and no ones called. Or has anybody returned my calls. Intermountain Aquatech is a mess. Do not use them. We made the mistake of using them this last Spring for the installation of a new Pentair system that they were advertising heavily. The system from Pentair with intelligent, highly automated equipment that communicates and can automatically make adjustments across the Intelliflow pump, IntelliChem, EasyTouch2 controller, heater, etc. has a lot of compelling features. The issue we had was not the Pentair equipment. It was the complete lack of knowledge on the part of Intermountain Aquatech. The installer that came out for the initial installation was a nice enough guy. It was not his fault that Intermountain Aquatech sent him out with no training to install a complicated, high tech system. Over the course of the entire summer we struggled to get the system installed correctly. After many phone calls and emails to Ryan (operations manager), we finally got an electrician out that typically just works on new construction to redo the electrical work for all this new equipment. The electrician showed me mistake after mistake in the setup and configuration of the system that we had paid Aquatech nearly $8,000 for. He pointed out that the system was not properly wired to communicate to take advantage of the communication across all of the system. The electrician took care of the physical wiring, but he pointed out that the setup and configuration of the software/firmware was not correct and that I needed to get someone out to take care of that. I shared with him the challenge I had had over months in trying to get Ryan (operations manager) or anyone on his team to return calls or to get someone out to our house that understood the system. He kindly called Ryan for me while I stood there and explained to him what needed to be done. Many weeks later and several follow up calls from me, there has been no follow through on this from Intermountain Aquatech. In frustration, I finally called Dolphin Pools. What a refreshing difference. Dolphin answers the phone. They send knowledgeable people out in a timely manner. They resolved all of the outstanding setup and configuration issues in a single week that I had struggled for months with Intermountain Aquatech on. It's frustrating to me that the company that I spent nearly $8,000 with couldn't care less about getting it installed or configured properly. Fortunately, Dolphin Pools is competent and provided outstanding customer service even though none of the equipment was purchased from them. Intermountain Aquatech is a mess and a nightmare to work with -- use any one but Aquatech. Our experience thus far with Dolphin Pool has been excellent. read more

Think long and hard before using Aquatech to build your pool. We installed a pool in our yard last year and had so many problems with them, especially with the owner, Brad, not taking any responsibility when things went wrong. Initially, things were great with Derrick during the design phase. He was attentive and listened to all of my questions and ideas. He was patient as I kept changing my mind on location, size, etc...He did several plan changes and seemed upfront with cost, timing, etc...He was there when he said he would be there and was good at returning texts. He and Brad signed off on the plans, then Jim came out to take a look before the build and this is where the problems began. We had not been told we needed to have a much larger gas meter installed, which added a significant amount to our budgeted loan. Jim also told us that the way the plans were would not work because Derrick had the pool pump below the water level, meaning if the pump broke, ours and our neighbor's yards would flood. Something I never would have agreed to had I been told. Brad and Derrick signed off on these plans, and Jim said they wouldn't take any responsibility if something went wrong if built according to their plan. So we talked with our landscaper (who has worked with aquatech in the past, and will not work with them again after our build) and the change in plans to elevate the equipment to water level added several thousand dollars to our build. We asked Brad to compensate us for at least part of this cost as he is the one who signed off on the plans that Jim said were not a good idea to follow. He asked if I would ask him to pay for an equipment shed if they told me the equipment needed to be in a shed. Well Brad, if I had been told this during the planning stages, then I would have budgeted for it, but that is my point. I was not told of the risk his plans posed, so I didn't know to elevate the equipment. He refused to take any responsibility for signing off on bad plans. He also had the audacity to say I was threatening him when I told him I was disappointed in the way he was handling our situation and that this would be reflected in any reviews I posted. I have never had the owner of any company respond in such a negative way. After this interaction, Brad was completely unavailable to us for the rest of our build. At this point, Kaitlyn became our point person (as Jim and Derrick were now not easy to deal with after not admitting their part until his fiasco), and she was great! If you decide to build a pool with Aquatech, make sure she is involved from the very start. The actual subcontractors they use to build the pool all did a great job, other than the gunite/concrete guy, which I will discuss in a minute. The contractors showed up on time and worked hard and clearly took pride in there work. I am so appreciative of them. They weren't the best about cleaning up their trash (soda cans, food wrappers, etc...), but I can deal with that. On to the concrete finishing. First of all, the stair edges are quite uneven. This is very obvious because of the line of tile along the edge of each step. The owner of the concrete company (who was quite rude when I met with him) said this was unfixable without redoing the entire stairs, which I would have had them do, but was so done with Aquatech at this point that I agreed to have them take a very small amount off my final bill ($1000 I think) for the stairs and for a mess up around the tile of the first step in our pool, and have someone else fix these things. To top it all off, when I got home from work when they had finished our pool, I found a large, crooked advertising tile for Aquatech embedded into the concrete of the first step. Nobody asked me if they could do this, and it was not even hidden in fine print in my contract (I looked). I was livid! If Brad thought I was going to advertise his company after the way he treated me, he was delusional. I told them it needed to be out of my pool the next day, and it was. But the concrete finish is now wavy and bumpy. The concrete guy actually told me this would smooth out over time, ha! Explain to me how set concrete is going to do that! Overall, we are happy with our pool, but having to do it again, I would most definitely use a different company. I do want to compliment one other person at Aquatech before I end this review and add some pictures. Curtis is amazing! He was patient and very informative when telling us how to take care of our pool. And always responsive when we have had questions or needed to troubleshoot a problem. Service at the counter is leisurely. Service at your home is incremental. Trying to get my hot tub fixed was a months-long nightmare. The service tech said he had to either remove my patio covering or the beam supporting it to put my tub on its side. My DAUGHTER suggested jacking up the tub and the tech suggested just buying a new one. I finally called Preferred Pool instead. They jacked up the tub, fixed it quickly, and charged me less than I had already paid Aquatech. Plus they fixed the hole Aquatech had accidentally made in a pipe. Aquatech, no! Like Christopher I do not understand the complaints. I have an old hot tub that didn't work because of faulty pumps and a heater core. The parts aren't made any more he helped me retrofit newer parts and they totally worked. It was amazing they have definitely experienced a lot to provide this level of service. Then I had a couple of extra problems with the spa and he sent me to a place called house of hose to get new bibs for the hoses. I am a happy and now loyal aqua tech customer. read more

I have used Aquatech since I bought my house with a pool in 2005. Their service was a 3 or 4 until this year. I have phoned 3 times in the past 3 days concerning my leaky hot tub and have not received a response of any kind. There used to be a couple of women who manned the service phones and they were always great to deal with. Now I call and get Ryan's answering machine, leave a message (3 times now) and hear nothing back from him or Aquatech. What is going on with your Customer Service Aquatech?? I normally really like this place but today I came in at 5:30 (they closed at 6) to get my pool water tested. The woman behind the counter, Fatima, looked at her watch, looked at me, and rolled her eyes several times. When I noted that she just rolled her eyes at me she said "Did I? Hmm" and shrugged her shoulders. When testing my water, she asked what was wrong with the water and proceeded to blow off every question I asked. Finally she asked someone else to get me the supplies and ring me up. I was friendly the entire time (except when I responded "if I knew what was wrong I might not have to get the water tested"). What a bad representation of their brand. If I were management, she'd be written up for being rude and obnoxious, at a minimum. read more

You can not reach them on the phone to find out before you drive 60 miles to buy parts. the manager wont take calls.The service department wont call back because they have a line of customers. Atrocious customer service. We moved into our new home in Pepperwood which has an in ground pool/spa. The previous owner was a customer so transferring service should be easy, right? It's literally guaranteed follow-on business for Aquatech. Instead, I've tried to call them more than a half dozen times and only once did I receive a call back. I now have a leak in one of my spa pumps (which Aquatech previously worked on) and I've been trying to reach them for a week. Forget actually trying to acquire new customers; They seem to have a desire to lose preexisting customers. read more

There have been times that I have been annoyed with them. I rushed there the other day through rush hour traffic to get there before they closed, only to find they had closed early. Also, because their pool maintenance employees are seasonal, I think they have a hard time getting employees with knowledge. And their policy to not take phone calls in the parts department on Saturdays is inconvenient. However, their PARTS people lately, have been so helpful! Mike went out of his way to find the best solution for me. And they have another parts guy who is also very helpful. In addition, the girl at the front counter doing water analysis and sales is very sweet. read more

Aquatech (Mike specifically) took the time to understand what I needed, looked up the part, and when they didn't have it, called their supplier and made arrangements for a will-call pickup. I am sure that aquatech will do a good job for you if they value you as a customer. I however had not had that experience. I moved into my house about 3 months ago. In this house is an indoor pool that was installed by aquatech. I called aquatech and told them that I would like them to come out and take a look at it before I started working on it. I was told by Ryan to contact the pool cover repairman. I called the repairman and he said that aquatech should have scheduled it with him. After a few phone calls later I was able to get scheduled out 2 weeks. This was in the beginning of june. The cover repair guys did a good job and helped me find the problem. I then called Ryan to schedule a serviceman to come out and take a look at the pool equipment to see what was running correctly and what needed to be replaced. That was another three weeks. The morning that they were supposed to call my appointment was changed. I told them that it was not right to do what they were doing and Ryan agreed and drove down himself to take care of the problem. He was here for 45 minutes and answered all the questions that I could ask him. He said that he would put together a bid and send it to me shortly. Two weeks later I finally received the email that contained the bid. I emailed him back and asked him to put me on the schedule. After a few days he responded that he would have time in another two weeks on a Monday. The Friday before the appointment I received a phone call from Ryan saying that one of his techs was going to be on vacation and that he needed to reschedule. I said that was fine as long as we were able to do it the following Monday. Today is the day that they were scheduled to come out. It is the third day that I have taken off of work to be able to fix my pool. I called first thing in the morning and left a message with Ryan asking him what time to expect the company. When I didn't hear back I called a every few hours after that and I have not been able to speak to anyone but the receptionist (Donna- who is rude and only cares about transferring you to residential or commercial lol) Long story short is I only came to this company because they installed to pool. I have never has such an unprofessional experience dealing with a contractor. Like I said I'm sure they do good if you can actually get them to show up. read more

Intermountain Aquatech built our pool and they were very responsive while we were building the pool. Once it was finished and paid in full, it was difficult to get any attention from the office...calls not returned, etc.... That said, every time I called Curtiss Ausmus and his sidekick Matt Burke (these are their field guys), they were SUPER responsive and very helpful. I give the two of them 5 stars, but as for the rest of the team, they were responsive while I owed them money but went silent once they had cash and I needed a couple of items fixed. Pool is great and Curtiss and Matt are great. read more

Service last summer season was good. Recently I have left a couple of messages and haven't received a call back. Explained this to the lady that answers the phone and she rudely replied "that has nothing to do with me". Well, lady, it kind of does because it shows that there are at least 2 staff members that don't care about a customer that has spent thousands of dollars in their store. read more

These guys were great! I've been having issues with our hot tub for months and it finally stopped working altogether. After trying to self diagnose the problem I figured it needed a new control board. I called aquatech and scheduled a service appointment but asked if one of their techs could call me first to make sure I wasn't missing something simple. The tech called and after hearing the symptoms gave me a couple of easy steps to try that I had not done yet. A simple reseating and cleaning of one of the connections fixed the problem and saved me a $100 service call at the very least! I am so glad I called these guys before buying a whole bunch of unneeded replacement parts! read more
