This time around, I've gotten the chance to try out Chapman to address some electrical issues in the house. Truthfully, I wasn't aware that Chapman handled electrical. I'd begun having some significant electrical issues a couple weeks before Thanksgiving. I called another company that I'd used for a smaller project with good results. They came over and did some minor adjustments, however, they noted there were significant issues and planned to send me an estimate. They did let me know this "fix" was more like a band-aid and the significant work was inevitable. It was less than a day when the "band-aid" stopped working. I waited a bit anticipating their estimate, though also disappointed that they'd done such a weak fix. Finally, things got WAY worse. It was shortly before Thanksgiving and the situation was urgent. I left a message for Chapman anticipating that I was likely out of luck for the holiday weekend. My general sense was that was their plan, too. However, I think the rep (I believe her name was Hannah) heard the panic in my voice and I explained my situation. She arranged for a technician to visit the house the next day. This tech did agree that the issue was serious and warranted a few major repairs. He explained it well and explained my options. To be honest, I'm usually quite cheap. However, when he gave me two options I went with the more expensive option as I really wanted to make sure the fix was done properly. I was tired of band-aids. They used my initial service call as a down payment and the electrician, Rodney as I recall, scheduled it and made sure he would be the electrician for the project (NOTE: In reality, this ended up being a 2-3 person job). The only slight hiccup was that I'd been told they'd arrive at 8am. In reality, I called them at 10am and learned they were having trouble finding one needed part. That was fine, though I should have been called. Around 11:15, and somewhat surprisingly, they arrived and dug in. Seven hours later? They were done. I was particularly touched by a neat gesture - I'm a wheelchair user. In their estimate, the electrician had written that he'd be putting my new panel in at wheelchair height. This wasn't something I asked for particularly, however, it was a pretty cool gesture recognizing my needs. Rodney explained everything and was entirely work focused. He completed the work as promised and the cost was exactly as quoted. He explained a couple other concerns - including one that wouldn't be a Chapman issue, however, he explained how it could impact the electric. I've now had Chapman work on my furnace and my electric. Are they more expensive? Yeah, I'd say so. If you're looking for a budget electrician, Chapman probably isn't that. However, in all three visits the work has been done and done well. They've avoided band-aids and actually fixed issues. Their quotes have been accurate. The employees have been professional. With the exception of today's tardiness, the experiences have all been impeccable. Truthfully, I should have likely called Chapman first. While I may not call them for smaller issues, the truth is for me it's worth a bit more to get the work done right. The work is warrantied and I now have a system that should last for years and is also accessible. That other company? I still don't have their estimate. Chapman wins.

Over the years that has changed and the customer service has gone down hill. Multiple calls left unanswered over the last year. Those calls were about two things: getting on their schedule for regular maintenance and to follow up about the option they presented to better cool our upstairs. I did manage to get ONE call back recently and spoke with the son who assured me that Jerry would call me back and get me on the calendar for the following week for a regular service visit. No call back. It's "funny" to me how they always managed to find time to call me back when they were about to get paid for the brand new HVAC they were installing in our home. The same courtesy should be given when calls are made to them after the initial job is done. Both Jerry and his son dropped hints multiple times that there isn't enough time to get everything done and there's not enough good people out there to hire to keep up with the business. While I get that completely, the customer shouldn't be the one to suffer. You should always find time to call the customers back. I am the first to promote and refer the companies that treat us well and take care of us. 3 years ago I was doing that with Speedtown. It appears as though I made a mistake and this is not the same company now that it once was.

Jerry and the team at Speedtown Comfort are as good as it gets when it comes to HVAC work and customer service. Jerry has helped me with multiple AC issues at our old house and I always felt like I was getting honest options and a fair price. Jerry discovered the problem with our 20+ year-old AC unit and fixed it rather than telling me we needed to replace it. We recently moved and Jerry just came out to help solve some airflow issues at our new house. Even when we ran into issues with the furnace at our new house that were caused by improper furnace installation (by a company that will not be named), Jerry went above and beyond to help solve the problem for us. I'd highly recommend that you give Jerry and his team at Speedtown Comfort a call if you run into any HVAC issues. They'll give you honest options that will work best for you, not just pad their bottom lines.

My dad gave them $6,000 to clear a clogged pipe under the kitchen floor. They were out multiple times in the first week, but they did not want to do the work, they just sat in the back yard and sent a camera under the house to see where the issue was. They also brought broken equipment to do the jetting, which accidently slipped out of the new kid's mouth that they brought with them. Raekwon Cunningham didn't even want to tell us the jet was broken. He forced my dad to pay right then and there for the work, my dad didn't even get to ask any questions or see if they completed the job. they said that they would be back tomorrow to finish the job and he left. They did come back but they didn't do anything again. They kept leaving and coming back saying they had to go get parts. They came back one more time saying that they needed more money to do the job and my parents refused and they have never been back and they haven't returned our calls either. The owner said they did the work and to do the unclogging it would be thousands more. He is refusing to say they failed to complete the job and he will not give any of my parents' money back. I have checked with 4 other plumbing companies now and they said it only costs $1,000 to run and camera and jet a pipe. Bassett got $6,000 to do it! They are a complete scam of a company! My poor parents have been getting their water from Walmart grocery delivery since June 6th now, I have 5 gallons and a case of water delivered their every week for them to have water. To wash their dishes, they have to take it to the shower to clean them. It's been a ridiculous scam with them. I would never use Bassett for anything! They will take your money and ghost you!
