So, I call them again at 1 and they have no answers for where the technician was, why I wasn't notified about the cancelation because apparently he called in sick that morning, or why they never called me back earlier. Their solution was to come up in another in 8 days time, ANOTHER 8 DAYS. When I originally made the appointment and during this whole conversation, I made it clear that the (relatively) minor work needed to be done asap so we can finish closing the home loan with our bank which clearly meant nothing. I am still in shock. It's like they wanted to lose a customer. Just wild.

What was supposed to take 4 or 5 days was not done 6 months later. The duct work was put in but no heat pump ever showed up. "I am waiting to get paid from the next job to buy your heat pump" Not showing up when scheduled was a regular thing. The most stressful contractor i had to deal with. When the air handler WAS put in (still no heat pump) I found out it was put in upside-down. I had to hire another crew to finish the job so I could finish my house. I never got the heat pump and now I have an air handler unit sitting in my shop. Buyer beware. I would like to file a claim with yelp too.

Shafer came out banged out the dents and got the system running for $175. Fast forward, the system stopped running a year later. Shafer did their best to repair it because our insurance company didn't want to pay for replacement, but it failed again this year. Now everything is working fine again, but I would never personally do business with RDI again. The installation technician had an attitude and couldn't get along with the onsite construction crew. I did my best to get along with him, but he was arrogant and short-tempered. That was quite a few years ago and there's a good possibility he doesn't work for RDI, but I kind of think he does. He turned off the gas and said we could turn it on after he left. Just rude, shady and unprofessional. It took him a few *minutes* to find this leak that DIDN'T EXIST. He made us feel forced to purchase a new furnace today. Just horrible, awful... ugh. Even my husband knew you were a scam and told me during his inspection to find a new place right away. ***The good news is we called an AMAZINGLY HONEST AND PROFESSIONAL company called ACI who came out right away, told us you scam constantly and did an extensive inspection and even ran tests for carbon monoxide (which Steve never did). No cracks. No leaks. Never pushed anything on us or used fear tactics. This scam company offered us a free inspection. Said Steve would change the filters (which he never did) and whatever this "bright beginnings" is that promotes your business, they will know you're a scam and a waste of air. I'm just so appalled. I almost threw $4,000 down the drain today. $4,000 for a furnace that works great. That's not money we just have laying around, that's my children's college fund.
