I bought her sob story hook, line & sinker, only to be bashed and blamed by her after all the advertising had been published and her balance had grown to a substantial amount. Somehow, I became the bad guy AFTER her ad campaign had been completed. She had broken numerous promises to remit the outstanding balance. Upon recognizing I had been hoodwinked, I submitted the file to Richard James & Associates Inc. This was my first experience with this collection agency. It was December '22 when Debra Fontaine initiated contact with this disingenuous, venomous debtor, setting in place the groundwork that would subsequently be picked up by collector Robert Daharsh. My company contact, Larry Earl maintained a constant stream of updates as the company successfully collected every cent during a six-month term. Richard James & Associates Inc. arranged for this large debt to be paid incrementally. Given this debtor's deceptive actions and low FICO score, I did not expect them to succeed. When I was notified of the debtor's scheduled payment plan, I was certain she would not honor it. But I underestimated the staff at Richard James & Associates Inc. I'm still not sure how they accomplished this...it seemed an impossible task, an uncollectible account. If you have lying lowlifes attempting to defraud you money legally owed and face challenges that make collection seem unlikely (out of state debtor, hard to locate debtor, multiple personality debtor, etc.) then contact Richard James & Associates Inc. They are amazing! They set the Customer Service bar so high, other collection agents need to charter a plane just to see it. I don't know how they do it but they do! Get paid! My complaints are these - the buidling is hard to find - and everyone seems to mention mall 205 but they really need to be clearer about how to find them. You're in the middle of Wash st and it's crazy and you could die! When you call the number, they aren't local and cannot help you. Also - they can only pull 1 credit report (equifax I think) so you are still left having to get the other two yourself. The long set of questions (not horribly long) but a lot didnt apply to me even though we had to walk through certain steps/hoops no matter the goal or the situation. For some reason I couldnt pull the other two myself w/o a glitch so now I have more investigation to do. Making me kinda wish I hadnt spent the time and gas money to get out that way... But Mary is a great counselor and lovely person so I'll give an extra star just for her...

Which dropped my credit score 82 points. Then they sent me another collection letter for EXACTLY a third of the original amount. When I called to find out why this was happening I was told additional costs were incurred and they did not get my payment until 4-5-18 the day they submitted a claim saying I refused payment. How can they both accept my check and and say I refused payment on the same day??? When I asked to talk to the supervisor I was given the run around and told the supervisors name was "K" but no one knows when they will be in the office. I also pointed out that they sent me a letter claiming they "know I'm employed" but at the time of that letter I had been unemployed for over 3 months. When I asked them why they lied 'Christina' said it wasn't a lie. But it is. Lying about lying is a childish and unprofessional approach to handling people who call with questions about payment. I was also never told why they felt the need to drop my credit score instead of waiting for payment. This is a extremely shady agency. DO NOT TRUST!

And even though I haven't been in that account since that day, in 2 years, they're not only refusing to give me my money, but they're taunting me online and Daring me to do whatever it is, I have to do to get my money back. And they're not even denying that they stole it from me and that they illegally obtained it fraudulently, they didn't even deny it. And then they tell me that I better have proof even after I just told them that there's customer services was slow enough to not pay attention to what they were doing, and they sent me all. The ledgers that I needed To not just press criminal charges, but to file a laws. Uit and they're still refusing to just rightfully return every penny. They took they think it's funny.
