I didn't complain just paid for it. The second night I had the tostadas de callo. I've had these many times but what I received was old smelly, squishy callo. I had to complain. They didn't charge me for my plate and service was really bad. Room is great and breakfast are amazing but dinner here I have to say not good at all.

We went down stairs and the front desk switched us to a new room, no fuss. We went up to the rooftop bar, great views and great drinks. The food however was a different story. Everyone in my group had issues with the food we sent back some of the food, but it wasn't any better when it returned to the table. Needless to say we did not eat here again. If you stay here visit the bar for the views but avoid the food. Overpriced and very low quality. Lastly, the hotel lobby has no restroom!!! Almost everyday while waiting for our friends in the lobby we had to make the trip up to our room in the 5th floor to use the bathroom. The was such an inconvenience. The hotel is centrally located and there are many restaurants and places to see within walking distance. I personally will not stay here again.

The formerly elegant residence filled with beautiful antiques is now torn up and being remodeled. Rooms were dirty, bed sheets not cleaned, tattered towels & used soap left for our use. No amount of tequila can prepare you for your arrival here. The new owner has no business renting rooms out while he creates chaos. We live an hour away and this was our 'go to place when we came to GDL. Adios!!!

Friday and Saturday evening their was a lot happening on the Main Street. There were street vendors and many people out walking around. Lots of restaurants to choose from and Starbucks was a three to four minute walk away. The only down side was the noise coming from the club. But I was tired from my long day I fell asleep quickly! The bed was very comfortable! If you plan to go to the downtown area I highly recommend taking a taxi there from this place. It is about 5 to 10 minutes away and is about $50 pesos.

I had the pleasure of being an occupant in this mansion 9/2019. Since then, I haven't forgotten this place and lack international travel this 2020 -cause of darn COVID, so I decided to write a review and "travel" this way. I love to travel and get away, do you? This lovely mansion was built for the Archbishop of Guadalajara (Pedro Loza Y Pardave 1815-1898) in 1848. I slept one night in a upstairs bedroom that opened to view the main patio. I loved the main patio with the estrellas hanging above, adding to the magic and charm of the whole mansion. Décor was charming in my room and throughout. I remember the bed not being of a memory foam quality type of comfort -but would do, for one night. Back then, renovations were taking place on the open rooftop, but that didn't stop me or other guest from enjoying the stunning views of the city. Nice view of the Roman Catholic, Guadalajara Cathedral or also called Cathedral of Assumption of Our Lady from here. I didn't get to see the underground tunnel, as I hear, there is a "secret tunnel" leading to the Cathedral used by the Archbishop. Breakfast is included in my stay here. Service was nice and friendly. Took off a star for plumbing issues throughout the mansion, construction in some areas was a bit of an eye-sore and bed quality during my stay. I'd stay here again, if and when I'm Guadalajara, Mexico. Stay safe and healthy (mind, body and soul) Yelping in all parts of the world, out there :)

The faucet sprayed water on us every time we turned it on after being unused for more than five minutes. We reported it a few times and it was never repaired. The most surprising problem with Demetria is the lack of basic amenities. The room was freezing and there were no extra blankets. We called downstairs twice and it took over 20 minutes to receive one. I don't particularly like staying up waiting for an item that should be stocked in the room. The list continues: no hair dryer (had to request and sign for), no shower gel, no bath robes, and no turndown service. The front desk didn't have a city map and one of the clerks couldn't even tell us where to go for coffee in the neighborhood. We were offered a map within five minutes of being seated for coffee at Casa Habita. Finally, an oversized bathtub but no special bath soaps or even house shoes. Each of these complaints may seem minor, but when combined, they reflect a poorly run hotel or a budget that is too tight to achieve the level of expectations for a first-class property.

The lobby has no AC, there is no order for checking in and it is not welcoming. We got there a couple of hours before check in and we were told we could leave our luggage and come back later. We came back 1 hr before check in and no one would acknowledge us and when we finally made it through the line, we were told to wait until 3pm, when the 2 people before me and after me were checked in! Had to stand in line again to be checked in and finally got a room. Front end staff are awful, not attentive, friendly or helpful. The room is a bit less than what you expect of an AC but comfortable and ours was clean. The breakfast at the restaurant and the staff made up for the unpleasant welcome. The staff at the pool area were good too. Food was good there as well, but it gets loud since you are right next to the pool and loungers. Location was okay, but not withing walking distance to places. You will need to take and Uber or taxi if you want to venture out. This charming former hacienda is stunning. We stayed in room 1 on the ground floor and the artisanal look and charm was evident everywhere. We were greeted promptly after figuring out where to park the car. Tip 1: If you're driving, drive up to the hotel, check in and then park across the street in the gated garage. There is no valet service at La Villa de Ensuenos, so you'll need to get your luggage and walk back across the street to the hotel. The rooms are very nice. They are beautifully decorated and have everything you would need. Tip 2: There are no mini fridges in the rooms. We were given a drink coupon for our first night and a breakfast coupon for the following morning. The courtyard, pool area, La Collection, and the eatery area are exquisite. You don't feel like you're in Tlaquepaque or even in a city. It's so quiet and refreshing. My wife was thoroughly impressed which doesn't happen very often. In Room 1, the AC unit did make a lot of noise and our bed as with most beds in Mexico was extremely firm. The hot and cold water in the bathroom worked and had excellent water pressure. We also like the little card from Mari who was are assigned housekeeper. Breakfast was delicious. Our waiter spoke both Spanish and English. They made accommodations for me as a vegan which was very nice. My coffee was hot and not weak. My wife ordered a child plate of pancakes and a side of fruit. Tip 3: Like everywhere in Mexico, the beans are fried with Manteca or pork lard. We will stay at La Villa del Ensueno again and look forward to enjoying more of the amenities.
