We went during Dia De Los Muertos and I highly recommend this place. It's very unfortunate they were doing road construction directly in front of the hotel, but surprisingly that didn't interfere with our stay one bit. Yes, maybe a little of traffic, but what do expect? The rooms were quiet, clean and comfortable. They had a beautiful display of past Mexican icons for Day of the Dead in the lobby. They also had a rooftop pool, but I cannot comment on it since we were pretty busy exploring the town and never made it up there. I would say I would definitely stay here again. Very historical. Very beautiful. Check it out if you're ever in the area.

Almost everyday while waiting for our friends in the lobby we had to make the trip up to our room in the 5th floor to use the bathroom. The was such an inconvenience. The hotel is centrally located and there are many restaurants and places to see within walking distance. I personally will not stay here again.

They must of had a shortage of toilet paper because, they never provided with a "new" roll. My party and I always came back to the suite to a half used roll, the whole time we were there; we had to ask for additional rolls. Had an incident that required icing my foot, the hotel did not provide an ice machine. The front desk told us the restaurant in the lobby would provide ice. We asked the restaurant host for some ice, and we were told they did not have ice. I was also told, continental breakfast would be provided, and that was not the case, we had to purchase coffee and sweet bread from the restaurant in the lobby; which was not the greatest coffee. It was, in fact, cold, colored water sold for coffee.

The house is absolutely stunning and perfect for a wedding or special occasion. The rooms were a great size, the bathroom was a little tight but the bed was comfortable, unit had AC and anything else you would need. The stay includes a delicious breakfast. The only downfall for us and why we ultimately did not choose this as our wedding venue was the surrounding area. It has not been well kept and there is so much grafiti all over the buildings outside, did not make for a nice morning walk. Unfortunately this is all out of their hands and hopefully the city does something to improve downtown.

Specifically, my room rate included mini-bar service, yet was never refilled during my stay. Addotionally, I was disappointted to find that the Mujeres Latina marichi group---one of the Hotel's primary entertainment highlights-- has been replaced by a lower-level performance mariachi. The staff was great and the room was comfortable although not ready at time i was told. I arrived at 1000 and knew the room wouldnt be ready so i left luggage with bellman and they said 3-4 hours itd be ready. I came back after my tour at 3 and room still wasnt ready. I pressed them and magically room was ready. I tipped them for their efforts as i was tired from traveling and just wanted any room at that point. Only issues were the elevators were small, old and slow. Also, be careful of having bellman help you with luggage when arriving to these hotels. Not just this one but any of them. I dont mind tipping but i can handle my own luggage and find my own suite. Id come back here to stay.

I came here to stay because it was the first time my Mom comes to Mexico and I wanted her to have an amazing experience that feels authentically close to the Mexican culture and for our surprise it was the Mexican culture inside of a hotel. It's small but full of color, personality, and warmth. The people who work here are amazing people. They are sweet, friendly, accommodating, helpful. I can keep going. The rooms are cozy. I grabbed a package where the breakfast is included. Breakfast start at 7:30am and ends at 11:00am. Luis is an amazing gentlemen. Always helpful and friendly and willing to provide you more info on the breakfast you are interested in. PLEASE try "Cafe de olla" is made by Luis. He makes it so delicious! The American coffee is really good. The breakfast is full of flavor and love. "Nico" my friend Nico! I he is the most humbled person I have known. They said they would fix, they did after 2 days. The Jacuzzi by the pool wasn't working either. That one was not fixed during my stay there. The deadbolt didn't work didn't work and that patio door didn't lock. So my room was technically unlocked. The place looked beautiful, the Daytime staff was very nice, after 3 or 4 days most issues were resolved. The restaurant looked very nice but the food was very bland and had no flavor. We ate at other restaurants instead of eating their free meals since the were very good. The first 2 nights I didn't realized that all the bites on my body were actually bedbugs till I saw a tiny insect in bed. That's when it clicked and realized that the bites all over my body were not mosquito bites, that they were actually bedbugs. They only gave me a $30 refund which was ridiculous compared to all the money we spent to stay there. The place is beautiful the staff was very nice. But the management didn't want to accept responsibility. I didn't ask for a full refund, I did ask for a 50% which I felt was fair since I did stay there for almost a week. They denied my request. Don't stay there unless you like bed bugs and food with no flavor. I'm only including pictures of my legs, but these were all over my arms, torso and private area. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

It is part of the luxurious Quinta Real brand, which often places their hotel properties in historical buildings. The Guadalajara property was actually built in 1986, but constructed as a traditional colonial-style hacienda on land once owned by the Martinez family. It has been described as an oasis, and that is a perfect impression. When you step inside, you're enclosed by high stone walls, reminiscent of a castle or palazzo, surrounded by lush gardens, birdsong, splashing fountains, antiques, and artwork by artists such as Sergio Bustamante. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in and elegant indoor/outdoor restaurant. Everything is hushed and refined, in direct contrast with the noise and traffic just outside the doors. The very best part of the experience, however, was the impeccable, accommodating, and kind staff. We really appreciated the level of security to the rooms. The aesthetics of the Hilton are stunning. While the restaurants and bars inside weren't occupied when we passed by they were very inviting. Our room was a king room with all the amenities one would expect. The mini fridge was operational which is nice as that isn't always the case. The lighting didn't have any guesswork and the bathroom facilities including the shower head were all luxury level. Whether you're on business or leisure, having access to the Expo, Midtown shopping and the Fresko grocery store makes the Hilton Midtown an excellent stay.
