This hotel had everything on point. From the price to the location and even the service. Couldn't be happier. Anything I needed, I asked the front desk and to care if it. I wanted to do a tequila tour and they set me up for the next day, I just had to show up at the lobby the next day. The room was small, as I got a basic room but very modern and well kept. King size bed along with a 32' tv. I arrived late and most of the places were closed so I ordered room service and the food came out quick and looked and tasted delicious. The hotel it self is centrally located in the historic district. So many places for food just walking distance. Shops, street vendors and the amazing churches all within a few min of the hotel. Very pleased with my stay here.

First off if you book here, you have to go to the roof top restaurant. The food is so freaking good! And if your on the fence if you want to get the included breakfast, don't think about it... just add it. They may call it a buffet but it's a breakfast spread. The juices are all freshly made. Not that "not from concentrate" stuff you get in the States. You have various fresh baked goods, fruits, pozole (which is my favorite), omelette bar, bacon and I could go on and on. All with a roof top view of the centro historic. Now the rooms, well my room, is banging!! I opted for the larger room. I have loveseat, coffee table, chair and very large closet and bathroom. The only fault I could find is that there was no clock in my room. The service at this hotel is top notch. Everyone waits on you, as if your a celebrity. It took some time for me to get used. The one thing I would suggest is please tip those who help you. They are providing a good service and if your from the US 100 pesos is just 5 dollars. We spend more on a cup of coffee at Starbucks. I was so pleased at my experience that NH hotel is now my preferred hotel when I travel abroad.

Hotel is very nice! Clean and staff was very nice and attentive. Our room was small but had a balcony overlooking the cathedrals. Great location. Breakfast is worth it as well.... Gorgeous view.

Perfect breakfast with a perfect view.

Perfect location for a tourist experience! The reason I booked this hotel? The beautiful view the hotel restaurant, located on the 7th floor, has to offer. The picture I took speaks for itself. You will find yourself in the heart of it all. Enjoy the gothic rustic feeling of the streets of downtown Guadalajara . This hotel offers a refreshing modern feel from within the hotel. Beautiful service. Loved it! Perfection!

The hotel is located in the busy historic center. The location is great. The crowd is diverse and in some cases you do not feel as safe as many other areas. The hotel itself is great. The restaurant on the 7 th floor had good buffet breakfast

If you are visiting Guadalajara and want to experience the city in a great way, this is the hotel you want to stay at. It is perfectly located in the heart of Guadalajara in El Centro Historico, with gorgeous views of the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral of Guadalajara. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the hotel is beautiful done and nicely modern. The rooms are really well done. I stayed in the Master Suite, which was a large room that included a wrap-around balcony with views of the full Cathedral. It was large and had a couch sitting area, dining area, nice king size bed and large bathroom. It felt like home away from home! The restaurant on the top floor has spectacular views as well, featuring full length windows so you feel you are right in the city as you have breakfast, lunch, or even dinner. The menu is great and breakfast is a great deal, with a buffet style of freshly prepared Mexican dishes, pastries, fruits, and other items, including an omelet and waffle bar. If you prefer, you can also order from the 24-hour room service menu. That's right, 24 hour! The only catch to this hotel is that it does not have parking on site and it's kind of confusing to get to their parking structure shared as public parking about 2 blocks away, but if you come in and let them know you are on the street, they will gladly come get your bags or deliver them to your car. My experience here was incredible and will gladly stay there again on my next visit to Guadalajara.

Great hotel right in the middle of the Centro very spacious and clean rooms. Excellent service from the front desk to the rooftop restaurant.

The room was comfortable and quiet for the most part, except during the afternoon when I could hear the hotel service workers cleaning the other rooms (they chatted quite a bit in the hallway). The breakfast buffet was amazing! I liked that there were many vegetarian options. The view from the food area was nice too. The things that were challenging: the elevator key is only good for the floor one is staying in. Since there was a group of us staying at different floors, the key situation was tough and annoying. The hotel itself is located in a plaza and is not close to the street side/curb. Ordering ubers or taxis from the hotel was tough for this reason, especially if one was relying on the hotel WiFi (it wouldn't reach the street).

Room service was great and my omelet in the AM was the best! Great views!!

Every positive adjective you can imagine. Here's a specific example of what I mean: When departing, it's typical for one to say "hasta luego" ("until later") or "hasta pronto" ("until soon") to the staff in the lobby. And their response is typically the same. But at the Hotel Real Maestranza the doorman responds, "Estaremos esperando" ("We'll be waiting"). It's a very small thing, but it makes a world of difference. Our room was quiet; the linens were the highest quality, and I was pleased to have a LOT of pillows. Housekeeping was to a very high standard. And we had a spectacular view of the city. In terms of a base of operations for exploring Guadalajara, one couldn't ask for more. (Our room did have a slight odor in the bathroom. That's common to Mexican plumbing. It didn't bother me so long as we kept the door closed and the fan running. Normally I would deduct a star for this, but the overall experience was so satisfying it seems like I'm looking for things to quibble over, so I'll stop.) The location is perfect; just far enough from the cathedral plaza to be out of the crowds, but centrally-located enough that everything the city has to offer is close-to-hand. Special shout-out to Ernesto, Humberto and Victor: You guys are AWESOME and I can't wait to be back with you! Highly recommended! I'll see you there!

I had the pleasure of being an occupant in this mansion 9/2019. Since then, I haven't forgotten this place and lack international travel this 2020 -cause of darn COVID, so I decided to write a review and "travel" this way. I love to travel and get away, do you? This lovely mansion was built for the Archbishop of Guadalajara (Pedro Loza Y Pardave 1815-1898) in 1848. I slept one night in a upstairs bedroom that opened to view the main patio. I loved the main patio with the estrellas hanging above, adding to the magic and charm of the whole mansion. Décor was charming in my room and throughout. I remember the bed not being of a memory foam quality type of comfort -but would do, for one night. Back then, renovations were taking place on the open rooftop, but that didn't stop me or other guest from enjoying the stunning views of the city. Nice view of the Roman Catholic, Guadalajara Cathedral or also called Cathedral of Assumption of Our Lady from here. I didn't get to see the underground tunnel, as I hear, there is a "secret tunnel" leading to the Cathedral used by the Archbishop. Breakfast is included in my stay here. Service was nice and friendly. Took off a star for plumbing issues throughout the mansion, construction in some areas was a bit of an eye-sore and bed quality during my stay. I'd stay here again, if and when I'm Guadalajara, Mexico. Stay safe and healthy (mind, body and soul) Yelping in all parts of the world, out there :)

This charming former hacienda is stunning. We stayed in room 1 on the ground floor and the artisanal look and charm was evident everywhere. We were greeted promptly after figuring out where to park the car. Tip 1: If you're driving, drive up to the hotel, check in and then park across the street in the gated garage. There is no valet service at La Villa de Ensuenos, so you'll need to get your luggage and walk back across the street to the hotel. The rooms are very nice. They are beautifully decorated and have everything you would need. Tip 2: There are no mini fridges in the rooms. We were given a drink coupon for our first night and a breakfast coupon for the following morning. The courtyard, pool area, La Collection, and the eatery area are exquisite. You don't feel like you're in Tlaquepaque or even in a city. It's so quiet and refreshing. My wife was thoroughly impressed which doesn't happen very often. In Room 1, the AC unit did make a lot of noise and our bed as with most beds in Mexico was extremely firm. The hot and cold water in the bathroom worked and had excellent water pressure. We also like the little card from Mari who was are assigned housekeeper. Breakfast was delicious. Our waiter spoke both Spanish and English. They made accommodations for me as a vegan which was very nice. My coffee was hot and not weak. My wife ordered a child plate of pancakes and a side of fruit. Tip 3: Like everywhere in Mexico, the beans are fried with Manteca or pork lard. We will stay at La Villa del Ensueno again and look forward to enjoying more of the amenities.
