We stayed for three nights and loved our stay there. Super convenient to all the town center attractions, transportation and restaurants. The breakfast that is included is fabulous. The wait staff is very accommodating and efficient. It's absolutely beautiful in the hotel There are three beautiful courtyards, A swimming pool and workout facility and rooftop views of the city that are wonderful

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful colonial hotel. Everyone provided friendly excellent service. We had a room with 2 beds and it was clean, spacious, and the beds were very confortable. Without a doubt we will be staying here again.

We stayed at a Hotel Morales for a total of 5 nights. In total, our group rented, approximately six rooms with varying lengths of stay as we were celebrating a birthday. Booking directly with the hotel was very easy, and we were able to check in early upon arrival. The hotel is approximately 30 minutes from the airport; the hotel can arrange transportation to and from the airport for 320 pesos, which turns to be about $15 US in 2023. There were no issues w/ the transport arranged through the hotel; they were very flexible with our delayed arrival. There is also Uber in Mexico, which we took from the hotel to various restaurants without issue. This hotel is also walkable to many historic sites, open markets, and small businesses. Our stay at the hotel was pleasant as our room was as pictured and described online. The colonial design was beautiful and exactly the type of boutique, small hotel feel we were looking for during our trip. The cleanliness was satisfactory, and the amenities were as stated online. As other reviewers have noted, the hotel does have some plumbing issues; however, that is common for most Mexican states as the plumbing is old. We learned to allow time between flushing and the one time we had an issue with plumbing, the hotel staff addressed it promptly. It's important to note that this is the historical/colonial downtown area, which was built over hundreds of years ago, and likely still has the same plumbing so be flexible when traveling! There is 24 hour armed security at the front; entrance as there are at many establishments throughout Mexico. At no point in our stay did we feel unsafe. There is a pool on the top floor, which offered a nice rest from the heat of the city and a place to unwind with friends. We will concur with a prior reviewer that the pool does have loose tiles so use with caution, as you would, with any area that has a potential for a hazard. Overall, the food and beverages at the hotel were great and reasonably reasonably priced. The hotel provides bottled water at the front desk for guest. We appreciate the fair price, the accessibility, and hospitality. We will be back to continue our exploration of Guadalajara!

Wonderful hotel in the center of Guadalajara. Nice breakfast with lots of options, I love an omelette bar. Room I had was for one and it was pretty big. The AC worked great. Wi-Fi was a little spotty. They have common areas around the hotel that are very nice if you don't get good service to hang out and get better reception. You get small toiletries, the shower was big and had good water pressure. We loved La Chata restaurant just a block away. There is also a concierge if you want to see areas around Guadalajara. They also set up a taxi for only $320 (~15 US DOLLARS) pesos back to airport. And don't miss the light show at the Cathedral at 8:45 or 9:30. Spectacular and less than a 10 minute walk from hotel. If I'm ever back in Guadalajara I'd definitely stay here again

Great architecture and great memories

This is a beautiful hotel, the staff is wonderful and the architecture is stunning. We ate breakfast one day in the restaurant the food was really good and after fOur days of Mexican food i really appreciated the vegetarian omelet made fresh h at thE buffet. There is a foosball table and pool table on the first floor. The swimming pool is small but works. They haVe a great spa. I had a terrific massage there. Why only four stars? The neighborhood is not stellar but you can get their driver or an Uber and go anywhere Also, the beds weren't my favorite - the room was clean and qUiet.

Hotel Morales is stunning and historic. Wonderful location and walking distance everywhere. The staff were kind and attentive. Not all staff spoke English but thankfully my boyfriend is Hispanic and was able to translate when needed. Nice size rooms and VERY clear A+. Hotel feels very safe and they have security at the door. Will be visiting again in near future.

Gorgeous historic hotel in Centro Guadalajara step from the shopping centers, cathedrals and markets. Bustling city in the go 24/7. Staff is friendly, informative and professional. Our every request was attended to without hesitation. Recommend highly. Free wifi and parking. In house discounts. Lived our room and stay!

Excellent!!! Great fast & friendly service, clean safe and cozy. Booked the nocturnal GDL & tequila tour through them. Definitely recommend.

Everything else is great!…read more I've been here two nights and dinner has been terrible the first night I had chicken in mole it was a chicken breast, had two bites and tasted a bit off I looked at the chicken and it was undercooked. I didn't complain just paid for it. The second night I had the tostadas de callo. I've had these many times but what I received was old smelly, squishy callo. I had to complain. They didn't charge me for my plate and service was really bad. Room is great and breakfast are amazing but dinner here I have to say not good at all.

We went down stairs and the front desk switched us to a new room, no fuss. We went up to the rooftop bar, great views and great drinks. The food however was a different story. Everyone in my group had issues with the food we sent back some of the food, but it wasn't any better when it returned to the table. Needless to say we did not eat here again. If you stay here visit the bar for the views but avoid the food. Overpriced and very low quality. Lastly, the hotel lobby has no restroom!!! Almost everyday while waiting for our friends in the lobby we had to make the trip up to our room in the 5th floor to use the bathroom. The was such an inconvenience. The hotel is centrally located and there are many restaurants and places to see within walking distance. I personally will not stay here again.

Every positive adjective you can imagine. Here's a specific example of what I mean: When departing, it's typical for one to say "hasta luego" ("until later") or "hasta pronto" ("until soon") to the staff in the lobby. And their response is typically the same. But at the Hotel Real Maestranza the doorman responds, "Estaremos esperando" ("We'll be waiting"). It's a very small thing, but it makes a world of difference. Our room was quiet; the linens were the highest quality, and I was pleased to have a LOT of pillows. Housekeeping was to a very high standard. And we had a spectacular view of the city. In terms of a base of operations for exploring Guadalajara, one couldn't ask for more. (Our room did have a slight odor in the bathroom. That's common to Mexican plumbing. It didn't bother me so long as we kept the door closed and the fan running. Normally I would deduct a star for this, but the overall experience was so satisfying it seems like I'm looking for things to quibble over, so I'll stop.) The location is perfect; just far enough from the cathedral plaza to be out of the crowds, but centrally-located enough that everything the city has to offer is close-to-hand. Special shout-out to Ernesto, Humberto and Victor: You guys are AWESOME and I can't wait to be back with you! Highly recommended! I'll see you there!

I had the pleasure of being an occupant in this mansion 9/2019. Since then, I haven't forgotten this place and lack international travel this 2020 -cause of darn COVID, so I decided to write a review and "travel" this way. I love to travel and get away, do you? This lovely mansion was built for the Archbishop of Guadalajara (Pedro Loza Y Pardave 1815-1898) in 1848. I slept one night in a upstairs bedroom that opened to view the main patio. I loved the main patio with the estrellas hanging above, adding to the magic and charm of the whole mansion. Décor was charming in my room and throughout. I remember the bed not being of a memory foam quality type of comfort -but would do, for one night. Back then, renovations were taking place on the open rooftop, but that didn't stop me or other guest from enjoying the stunning views of the city. Nice view of the Roman Catholic, Guadalajara Cathedral or also called Cathedral of Assumption of Our Lady from here. I didn't get to see the underground tunnel, as I hear, there is a "secret tunnel" leading to the Cathedral used by the Archbishop. Breakfast is included in my stay here. Service was nice and friendly. Took off a star for plumbing issues throughout the mansion, construction in some areas was a bit of an eye-sore and bed quality during my stay. I'd stay here again, if and when I'm Guadalajara, Mexico. Stay safe and healthy (mind, body and soul) Yelping in all parts of the world, out there :)

This charming former hacienda is stunning. We stayed in room 1 on the ground floor and the artisanal look and charm was evident everywhere. We were greeted promptly after figuring out where to park the car. Tip 1: If you're driving, drive up to the hotel, check in and then park across the street in the gated garage. There is no valet service at La Villa de Ensuenos, so you'll need to get your luggage and walk back across the street to the hotel. The rooms are very nice. They are beautifully decorated and have everything you would need. Tip 2: There are no mini fridges in the rooms. We were given a drink coupon for our first night and a breakfast coupon for the following morning. The courtyard, pool area, La Collection, and the eatery area are exquisite. You don't feel like you're in Tlaquepaque or even in a city. It's so quiet and refreshing. My wife was thoroughly impressed which doesn't happen very often. In Room 1, the AC unit did make a lot of noise and our bed as with most beds in Mexico was extremely firm. The hot and cold water in the bathroom worked and had excellent water pressure. We also like the little card from Mari who was are assigned housekeeper. Breakfast was delicious. Our waiter spoke both Spanish and English. They made accommodations for me as a vegan which was very nice. My coffee was hot and not weak. My wife ordered a child plate of pancakes and a side of fruit. Tip 3: Like everywhere in Mexico, the beans are fried with Manteca or pork lard. We will stay at La Villa del Ensueno again and look forward to enjoying more of the amenities.
