Finally, after having checked with 3 different insurance companies prior, in comparing rates, I was fortunate to have found Oneida, (Geico insurance rep.) who was much more effective as she took her time to find me the very best auto/home 'bundle' for my particular case. She was extremely personable, knowledgeable, & very thorough. She also gave ample time in 'listening' to my particular needs and answered any/all my questions leaving nothing to worry about. I was very impressed by her expertise and her honest attitude that came across by her desire to get me the best policy for the best price. I left this company for 2 reasons…read more 1 the high pressure sales tactics. You could not talk to them about anything without them trying to sell you multiple other insurance policies. They would not take no for an answer even when I told them that I had no use for the policies they were trying to sell me. 2 I bought an older car for $1000. They wanted to charge me $296 a month for liability only. That was about as much as the monthly payment for my wife's 2 year old car with full coverage. My wife had had 1 accident 2 years earlier. I wound up going to another insurance company that we had used when we lived in PA. We were very happy with them, even when my wife had an at fault accident. The only reason we didn't go with them in the first place was because they weren't doing business in NJ at the time. The insurance for both cars with the same coverage was a little less than the price of one car from here. When I cancelled my insurance and sent them proof that I had insurance through a different company, they would not acknowledge any of this information and kept billing me. Only after I complained to the corporate headquarters did I get a response. They still tried to charge me for the time that they claimed I was insured with them even though I cancelled the policy. I spoke directly with the owner and was literally yelling at him about their incompetence. He finally agreed to remove the charges and told me if I ever needed to come back to them for insurance that they would be happy to take me back. I told him that there was no way in hell I would ever go back.
