My mother signed a policy through them and asked for referrals. My mom asked if they would calls us (the referrals) several times and each time AIL responded NO. Well, the next day, the female's supervisor called me. I said I needed to verify this referral and hung up to confer with my mom. A few days later, the female calls me. I immediately tell her I'm not interested and to remove me from her list. She tries to object to confirm that I'm not interested, and I again reiterate that I am not interested and to remove me from her list. She says "I dont need the attitude." I tell her, "Well you got the attitude because I already told you once." Then hung up. Total trash and super rude.

So the fact that this company shares personal information with other parties it disgusting. Last night I had someone call me 10 times pretending to be American Life Insurance, this is just one day. I've been dealing with this harassment for about a month now. I also can confirm it's not American Life because when I actually called them, no one picks up or ever returns phone calls. So it's funny that now my policy is finally canceled I'm getting all these other random numbers calling me pretending to be them.

I left this company for 2 reasons…read more 1 the high pressure sales tactics. You could not talk to them about anything without them trying to sell you multiple other insurance policies. They would not take no for an answer even when I told them that I had no use for the policies they were trying to sell me. 2 I bought an older car for $1000. They wanted to charge me $296 a month for liability only. That was about as much as the monthly payment for my wife's 2 year old car with full coverage. My wife had had 1 accident 2 years earlier. I wound up going to another insurance company that we had used when we lived in PA. We were very happy with them, even when my wife had an at fault accident. The only reason we didn't go with them in the first place was because they weren't doing business in NJ at the time. The insurance for both cars with the same coverage was a little less than the price of one car from here. When I cancelled my insurance and sent them proof that I had insurance through a different company, they would not acknowledge any of this information and kept billing me. Only after I complained to the corporate headquarters did I get a response. They still tried to charge me for the time that they claimed I was insured with them even though I cancelled the policy. I spoke directly with the owner and was literally yelling at him about their incompetence. He finally agreed to remove the charges and told me if I ever needed to come back to them for insurance that they would be happy to take me back. I told him that there was no way in hell I would ever go back.
