READ THIS Went for a…read more$600 honda accord 2000 lx (underpriced). They give you an hour to look through the lot before auction begins. You cant test drive the cars before purchase, which is normal for auctions, but this place is not a "normal" auction. Anyways, I show up at 5:25 and had to stand in line for 20 minutes. I look through the lot for 10 minutes and the car is not in the lot. I ask the lady and she says all the cars on their website are in the lot. 5:53 they say the lot is closing so I sprint through the whole lot and still dont see it. Mind you, their are alot of lots there, so I figured it was just elsewhere or I had missed it, cause I didnt go to the back and look through the suvs, trucks, and such. Show starts at 6:00. About 250 people attending, mostly poor people and immigrants, nothing wrong with that. I learned from another that it was even busier on Saturdays.. Fast forward to 8:00, there have been a few deals but there has been some stuff WELL over blue blook. maybe 20 people had gotten cars. I still havnt seen my honda. The heard of auction attendees had thinned to about 20 when the auction bad boys, as I like to call them, start to seperate people and start their swindling(or continue their swindling, rather). You can tell their operation is practiced, dont let the janky property and employees fool you. My favorite part is that there actually are some good deals mixed in to put people at ease.(mind you these cars still could be total lemons) Its all just one big psychology experiment. Anyways, bad boy swindler 1 comes in on me all friendly, figures out the car I want and brings the picture of the car over to incomprehendable auction guy(really its hilarious) and his little auction bitches. This next part is a paraphrase, but 100 percent what happened. Guy comes back and says, if I give him 700 he wont even show the car. I say, okay, is it possible if we turn the car on and let it run for 20 minutes, so that I can be sure it wont overheat, before I purchase and drive off the lot? He says absolutely not. I say "okay fine, ill take my chances and let it go to auction." Then swindly bad boy number 2 comes up, not quite as friendly, but also curious and seemed like he wanted to help. He looks at the picture on my phone and goes over to talk to swindly boy 3. Now swindly boy 3 is one BIG bald man and he takes a minute to let me stew(15 or so). Other customers that have held out seemed to be in similarly awkward situations. So 8:45 now, i've been at this hell hole for nearly 4 god forsaken hours and big baldy rolls over towards me and trys to play hard ball. He waltzes right up in my face and says now he has a guy that will pay 900 for its parts. (I know big baldy's game and I dont play it). I say" look the add is for 600, if you want to play hard ball I'll give you 700 for it". Big Baldy then knows he needs seperate me from the heard(because of experience) he says okay sign here give me 400 now and then the other 300 when you get the car. I say" no thanks I want to see the vehicle running first" LOL. Baldy is duped again. Then we go back out to the rest of people with broken spirits. Other people ask me what happened and baldy immediately starts seperating us, because he fears I'll start a revolution( I dont, cause I still really want the car). 8:50 and the accord still, hasnt been drove through. Baldy comes back for round 2 and NOW he is gonna level with me(yeah right) he says, they cant find the keys to the car, that if I put down a deposit he will get a new key and I can have the car tomorrow. I say I cant put down any money until I see the car run and he asked me leave. I wouldnt work for this company if they payed 100k a year... they are swindling the lower class. Also there was a cop their shooting the shit with one of the employees. PRETTY fuckin shady if you ask me, you heard it hear first.... Plus will all the other shady ass reviews.... Anyways... I digress. Craigslist has better prices and is safer

After signing the contract on 11/14/19, They let us take the car home even though the financing hadn't went through yet. 4 days later they asked us to come back and sign a new contract because the bank changed the terms of the agreement. On 11/20, I put up a bad review on google. They actually got pissed and called my boyfriend to threaten him. They said that if I didn't take the bad review down and give them 5 stars, then they would take the car back. I swear that crap has to be illegal! It is now 11/21 and the financing still has not been approved yet. They are super shady and unorganized. And I didn't appreciate how long we had to wait. When you 1st walk through the door you have to wait a long time before someone even acknowledges you. I do not recommend this place and will NEVER purchase anything else from them. Also they never disclosed the body damage on the car. It had a big dent in the car plus scratches on the bumper. They claimed they knew nothing a out it and refused to fix it.

The fact that I just had to give this company 1 star just pissed me off. Never ever buy a car from…read morehere and do not trust the mechanic either. Transmission went out with in 2 weeks of purchase car wouldn't even go in reverse. Everyone at this dealership works together to save each others behind. The lie and steal. They'll tell you to pay down payment put don't even put it towards the price of the vehicle. No one will give you a contact number for the owner, all they ever say when you ask for the owner is they have no way to contact him and he never comes in. One guy told me they don't have a owner. Beware. I would buy a car off western before I ever spend another dime here.

I was glad to as myself, sister and late Mother have all bought cars from CarMax (Oak Lawn location). We walk in and we were greeted in a friendly manner and were given Tyler to assist us. He was friendly, knowledgeable and answered whatever questions we had. My friend thought she was going to get either a Honda or a Nissan based off of preference. With inquiring and getting Tyler's advice, she started looking at Subaru's! Another friend of mine recently got a Subaru who is pleased with hers along with one of the other associates there telling us how happy he has been with his Subaru purchase. This purchase took a matter of days because she had a car transported from another location so had to wait for that one to come in. She was also trading in a vehicle along with going through her credit union. The whole time Tyler was great and we were really glad to work with him. My friend is very happy with her vehicle and the experience she had. Great job CarMax of Tinley Park. Keep up the great work! A+!

I came back while it was time to shop for a new car and boy it was a different experience. Firstly, when it comes to test driving the vehicle other places give you in a lot of time to drive the vehicle. You can basically create your own path as long as you're back at dealership let's say in 20 minutes. However, with this location you have to stay on this fixed path and it's only about 5 minutes per se that you get to drive the vehicle. I got screwed with my trade since stuff online is different than in person period the computer capped crashing out enemy the process of purchasing the car a lot more harder and longer. I did like the guy helping me out he was professional so I won't knock on him. Carmax Actually sold me a pretty decent car but the way that this company does business is borderline Shady and unprofessional. They do try to push multiple things on you even if financing a car through a third party and other add ons they tried to attempt. There's some cool stuff that's included with the purchase of the vehicle but overall I will think again about possibly shopping at Carmax for my next vehicle.

The vehicle I purchased was not inspected but yet I was still charged the $499. Got the vehicle home, the next day it would not start. I had to get a jump. before I could get a jump, I had to purchase replacement parts because the hood would not stay up. So how did they do an inspection on the car if the hood was broken? Exactly!! Because they didn't do an inspection. If the inspection was done, they would have known the battery had low voltage and the hood needed replacement parts! Called Jason, he would not answer, I went back to the car lot to have his employee call, of course he answered for him. Jason assured me he would look into the battery situation and get me another one. I have not heard back from him. I'm not letting this go!!!! Do yourself a favor save yourself a headache and find someplace else to purchase your vehicle. I do not recommend 0/10.
