THIS COMPANY'S NEGLIGENCE KILLED MY CAT - THEN THEY BLAMED ME If I could give zero stars, I would. Insulation Pros' negligence directly caused the loss of my senior cat, and instead of taking responsibility, the company president, Josie, spent 12 minutes yelling at me, blaming me, and saying she "would have never allowed something like that to happen to her own animals." On March 10, 2025, their workers came to my home for an insulation job. During the process, they left a door open, allowing my elderly, sick cat to escape. Kitty required medication twice a day to survive and has been missing for two days now. She absolutely did not survive. Here's where it gets even worse: * Josie, the president of the company, yelled at me for 12 minutes (which I have recorded) and told me the entire situation was my fault because I "should have known" to put my cat away. * Josie also admits that one of her technicians, Tyler, called Josie at one point and asked if he should secure my cat--but instead of taking any action, they made NO effort to contact me or my property manager to inform us that my cat needed to be put away. * When I confronted Josie, she lied and said they didn't have my contact information--which is completely false, as they had texted me just a week prior. Not only was their carelessness responsible for the death of my pet, but their dishonesty and complete lack of accountability afterward were appalling. Instead of admitting fault and apologizing, they gaslit me, berated me, and tried to cover their tracks. If you care about your pets, your home, or working with a company that values honesty and professionalism, DO NOT hire Insulation Pros. We recently hired Insulation Pros of Kansas City for a major attic insulation project in our 1961 home. They removed all the old, inadequate insulation, replaced it with 18" of new blown-in insulation (R48!), and even removed an ancient attic fan. They also spray foamed the rim joists around our foundation. From start to finish, the team was fantastic. Kobe, our team leader and person working hand in hand with the entire team, introduced us to Tristan (spend nearly all of his time in the attic getting it done) and Ryan, and everyone was polite, helpful, and professional. They took care to protect our home with plastic sheeting and were incredibly respectful throughout the process. We were especially impressed with their willingness to go the extra mile. We had replaced our attic hatch and asked if they could dispose of the old one. Ryan immediately helped us load it into the dumpster - a huge help for us! Later that day, Tanner and Blaise arrived to tackle the attic fan removal. That thing was massive - seriously, industrial size! Tanner did a great job coordinating the team and ensuring everything was removed and replaced with new batting and netting. The entire crew worked efficiently and diligently from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm on the first day and on the second day it only took about 4 hours to complete the reinstallation process. I'm so frustrated for my friend, Autumn Nelson, and the way Insulation Pros handled this situation. They came to do work at her house on March 10, left a door open all day without telling anyone, and her elderly, sick cat got out. Kitty was 15 years old and needed medication twice a day to survive. It's been two days, and she's gone. What makes this even worse is how the company handled it. Josie, the president, straight-up lied and said they didn't have Autumn's contact info--even though they had texted her a week before. Received a quote for what I thought was going include insulating over my garage after discussion with the guy that did the estimate but when the work was completed they did not include this area. The quote I received stated "Entire main open attic" which is what over the garage is but they claim this only means over living space and that is how insulation terminology works. They literally stopped where the kitchen ends even though the garage is right next to the kitchen and in the attic looks like a continuous space. read more

Their crew arrived on time, and got right to work covering the floors, and furniture, and setting up to blow in the insulation. Having cedar shake siding, I opted to let them drill 2 1/2 " holes in the sheet rock every 16" on the exterior walls that were getting the insulation. They then politely let us know they would be taking over the house for a few hours, so we went shopping for the morning. We returned just as they were finishing up. The house was pretty much cleaned of dust and debris, save for some puffs of insulation on the tops of the ceiling fan blades that escaped notice. I can't really complain about the job they did plugging and mudding over the holes, as I was informed of what to expect. They're insulation pros, not drywall pros. And going back over their work to finish off where the walls were plugged was a small price to pay given the price of the job. Ours is a 1960 built split ranch, and the summers used to see a temperature differential of three to four degrees between the downstairs and upstairs. Now that we've had the attic and walls insulated properly, we have a one degree differential. On a really hot day. And the humidity in the summer does not penetrate the 60 year old sheet rock like it used to, so we can keep our thermostat at 75 degrees, and be perfectly comfortable anywhere in our home. read more

Based on reviews of this company, my pregnant wife and I were sure this would be a solid company to hire to improve the insulation in our finished attic. Unfortunately, we could not have been more wrong. When I returned home from their "completed" job, there was a random two-foot cut in our bathroom wall that had not been repaired, in the areas of the drywall that had been "repaired" the work was sloppy and would have taken forever to sand down from the cake frosting-looking mess, and in the unfinished attic area there were broken pieces of drywall and staples covering the floor. All of this was AFTER the job was supposedly finished and complete. Jodie also made sure and pressured my 9-months pregnant wife to pay the company for their work--assuring us that everything else would be taken care of. This led to the inconvenience of calling back (in which my wife and I were always polite and more understanding than we probably should have been) to get these issues taken care of. The owner came out and had to completely redo most of the dry wall patches himself, which we appreciated, but it also delayed our painting of our daughters' room. I still had to call and schedule a date for them to return AGAIN to clean up the broken dry wall pieces and staples in the unfinished attic. We had to schedule two weeks out because there was nobody apparently available to clean their mess. When the day that was scheduled came and went, nobody arrived to clean up the mess. Once I wrote a review stating these issues, I received word that they would send somebody the next day. Unsurprisingly, nobody showed again. Now, it is still a month after the job was "completed," and the broken dry wall pieces and staples (which my young daughters or pregnant wife could step on) have STILL not been cleaned. No compensation has been offered for the inconvenience and there have been no returned calls. I would caution anybody from hiring these guys unless they want the job to take over a month to complete and have to call multiple times to resolve any issues which may or may not be resolved. read more

We first talked with the owner, Larry at the KC home show last year. He was knowledgeable and not at all "salesy" or pushy. We needed new insulation in our home and gave them a call. They came out for a free quote and were very thorough. They sent an emailed quote within about an hour of leaving our house. We felt their price was very reasonable and they even told us they would honor this quote for a year if we needed to divide the job up for budget purposes (which we did) They showed up on time and were friendly and professional during the process. When we had some continued issues with feeling heat coming in some spots in our loft, Larry came back out and took measurements with a heat gun to see what needed to be fixed. He gave us another quote for an area we had originally chosen not to insulate. He also said they would fix any spots that might have been missed previously for no charge. (Sometimes when blowing in the insulation to an attic it is hard to see little spots that get missed) His team came out for our follow up and again were polite and professional. Larry came along as well to insure the team knew about the measurements he had taken and the spots that needed attention. I would absolutely recommend these guys if you need insulation work. They are a smaller, family-owned business and they definitely care about doing an honest job. read more

We had them out to bid on removing old insulation over an old part of our home. We discovered when they were here that the new part of our home had wall insulation instead of thick, attic insulation and is most likely a reason our heating and cooling bills are astronomical! When they began removing the old insulation, there was some issues with debris under the old insulation. But because the whole reason we called was to remove the old insulation over my daughters room so we could fix the ceiling, they came back out and spent the better part of a day making everything perfect so we could have someone fix the ceiling. On top of that, a crack that had developed in our stairwell due to the constant up and down of the guys into the attic, they noticed, and although I told them it had started before them, they were adamant that they fix it. They did a great job fixing it too! This company is top notch. They are prompt, professional, nice, and go above and beyond to make sure the customer is well educated and well taken care of.
