Just moved to Huntington Beach and found this Gem of a place. BEST price around you cant beat their price of $49. waiting room isn't anything fancy but why would you need it to be. Got two cars done in one day and couldn't be happier. I have a friend who owns a smog place and they charge nearly double and he says its because they are stilll paying for the new fancy smog test machine, So anyone charging over $50 is trying to pay off their machine. No need to pay anymore than that for a test that takes $15 minutes if you take care of your car. Hope this helps. read more

I brought my Toyota Highlander in for a smog test. The attendant was very friendly and helpful. He noticed an animal nest on the top of my engine. I asked him to wear a glove and take it out and he did. The test didn't take very long and then he was very friendly. I would recommend this business. I passed. read more

Took my truck here to get it smogged and it failed. They have a coupon on Yelp for $31 but the owner said I couldn't use it when I went to pay because "it's not for trucks". It doesn't say that on the coupon. Won't be going here again. Just Smogs is the place to go. Much better customer service! read more

Instatune is a great Star Certified smog place, I wish I knew about this place long ago! I brought my 1998 BMW 328is here and the service was quick and professional. The owner is a super nice guy, funny, and personable. He keeps you informed about the progress of your smog check and runs his shop efficiently. The shop is very clean and has a comfortable waiting area with couches and a collection of books you can read if you wish. The smog technician, Amine, was also extremely nice and performed the smog check quickly. Also, they don't charge more for European cars, I've been to some places that charge extra just because your car is a BMW or Mercedes etc. Overall, great experience and would definitely recommend this place for your smog check. read more

Came here for a very last minute smog check today. I went around 11am and it wasn't busy at all! I called ahead to ask and make sure they take walk in's and the funny gentleman said "We encourage for those to walk in instead of making appointments." It was very easy to find and there were plenty of parking spots. There was only one other car that was getting checked when I pulled up. The younger gentleman helped me and was super kind! He drove the car into the garage as I sat in their waiting area. The waiting area had a full library for those wanting to entertain themselves. However, it only took about 15-20 minutes ever since I arrived! Super fast and it really made me want to continue coming here. Especially with how friendly everyone was! Don't forget the yelp check in with cash only special! (They take card too but i think it's like $5 more) . Will be recommending this location to my friends and family :) read more

I've been going here for years and it's always a great experience! Fathi is a very kind person and very funny. Amine is also very friendly and you can usually get in and out in about 15-20 minutes without an appointment. A few years ago, I had just got my vehicle back from a solenoid coil repair and the check engine light was turned off. My vehicle wasn't ready to pass smog at that moment so Amine gave me a few pointers on how to get my Engine Control Module (ECM computer) prepared or ready so I can pass smog. It took a few days of driving but I passed and Amine was very helpful the whole time. After that, I bought an OBD2 handheld scanner (about $50) so I could check my status if I needed to in the future. So about a month before my smog was due in Nov 2024, my ECM threw a code that couldn't be erased so I needed to buy a new ECM. The first one didn't work so I had to return and replace it with a new one. So I had to drive my vehicle about 60 miles with some freeway and city driving combined. So by having the OBD2 scanner, I knew when my car was prepared to pass smog. The yellow light on your OBD2 scanner means your car is in the preparation mode and when you have a green light, you are ready to pass smog. Just went yesterday and saw Fathi and Amine and my car passed. I wrote this just so this might help customers who have a similar situation can prepare for a smog check and know they will pass before taking your car to the facility. read more

The shop is a work of art, something out of the past, with a true "Home Town" kind of atmosphere and staff that is both welcoming and professional. I used to go here before because they had a coupon in the Pennysaver and I always enjoyed talking to the owner. For some reason, we don't get the Pennysaver anymore. I'm not sure if the Pennysaver is still in business. Anyways, I forgot the name and where they were located so I asked a friend for a referral and he mentioned a place that turned out to be the place I used to go to. They have since moved a couple doors down to a bigger space closer to the street. I like this place alot. The staff are very friendly and efficient. This is one of the few businesses that I feel like I'm seeing a good friend. The owner is always pleasant and has interesting stories. I hate to leave reviews in general especially on a small business. But it gets to a point where as a business owner myself - your word is everything. So if you tell me one price on the phone only to double it when I get there, you lost my business right away. Gave them a call and asked if they were still doing their yelp check in deal. They said yes and asked for the make and model of my car. Told me 40$ cash. Went straight to bank and drove over. The guy watched me check in on yelp and claim the coupon and then says "oh you can't use that on your car". Tried first to tell me it was 80$, then 75$, and then finally 50$. Doesn't make sense how the price can change 3-4 times in a matter of seconds. I'd rather pay more elsewhere instead of being baited to come in for a good price only to be doubled when I show up. Pretty upset - used to go to this place quite a bit but now I won't anymore. They tried to claim there was a misunderstanding on the phone and that there are 2 versions of my model - well you should have asked that. Ended up taking my business elsewhere! read more

I live around the corner from this place, and I went in for a smog check. The guy that did the smog check on my car (the only one there who does the smog check) was absolutely rude and frightened. He is not a friendly guy; he didn't say hello. I saw him going under my car a few times and was wondering if there was a problem. I asked if there was a problem. He responded, "Don't worry about it; go pay over there." I told him he did not have to be rude; I was just asking. As I was paying, I told one of the owners how rude he was, and from behind he came up to me and started yelling, What is your problem? You dropped off your car to be inspected. I am not here to educate you on what is wrong with your car. As he was yelling, the owner kept asking him to stop yelling at me.
