First time coming here and I had a great experience. He was really friendly and funny! I was in and out with not issue. I recommend 10/10!

So helpful! Quick response time, good value. Honest and reliable help to get my vehicle smog checked. Thank you.

Just moved to Huntington Beach and found this Gem of a place. BEST price around you cant beat their price of $49. waiting room isn't anything fancy but why would you need it to be. Got two cars done in one day and couldn't be happier. I have a friend who owns a smog place and they charge nearly double and he says its because they are stilll paying for the new fancy smog test machine, So anyone charging over $50 is trying to pay off their machine. No need to pay anymore than that for a test that takes $15 minutes if you take care of your car. Hope this helps. read more

Outstanding and quick service. Very reasonably priced. Great service amd love the owner.

Very nice people super fast standard price. They were very informative when I brought my car in the first couple of times they let me know exactly what I needed to do to fix the problem so that my smuggle would pass. Thank you for taking care of my car read more

This place is fast and cheap. We will be back. Wait time was nothing with 2 others in front of us.

Very quick even without an appt. And can't beat the price of $49. Been coming here for a few years and thankfully we've always passed smog read more

Great guys. Always the best. Haven't gone anywhere else in over a decade. Reasonable price and have helped me figure out what is going wrong when a vehicle didn't pass. read more

I brought my Toyota Highlander in for a smog test. The attendant was very friendly and helpful. He noticed an animal nest on the top of my engine. I asked him to wear a glove and take it out and he did. The test didn't take very long and then he was very friendly. I would recommend this business. I passed. read more

Took my truck here to get it smogged and it failed. They have a coupon on Yelp for $31 but the owner said I couldn't use it when I went to pay because "it's not for trucks". It doesn't say that on the coupon. Won't be going here again. Just Smogs is the place to go. Much better customer service! read more

Been coming here for decades for all of my cars! Quick, easy, and great price with the Yelp check in. Always excellent service! Remember it's $40 w/ certificate! And bigger cars cost a little more obviously! read more

great service, not too costly, friendly staff, very quick service and comfy waiting area

Instatune is a great Star Certified smog place, I wish I knew about this place long ago! I brought my 1998 BMW 328is here and the service was quick and professional. The owner is a super nice guy, funny, and personable. He keeps you informed about the progress of your smog check and runs his shop efficiently. The shop is very clean and has a comfortable waiting area with couches and a collection of books you can read if you wish. The smog technician, Amine, was also extremely nice and performed the smog check quickly. Also, they don't charge more for European cars, I've been to some places that charge extra just because your car is a BMW or Mercedes etc. Overall, great experience and would definitely recommend this place for your smog check. read more

First smog check needed for my Toyota tundra, and it was quick and easy! I will get my cars smogged here again next time it is needed.

Just had our old Tacoma smogged here again. In and out in about 30 minutes, and the best deal in town. Thanks, Habibi! read more

Best place to get a smog check. Best price in town. Friendliest service anywhere. Enter as a stranger, leave feeling like family.

He is polite and service was completed in 15 mins. I've gone here the last few times I needed a smog. If you use the deal pay attention that it doesn't include the certification for DMV. It's a great price read more

Came here for a very last minute smog check today. I went around 11am and it wasn't busy at all! I called ahead to ask and make sure they take walk in's and the funny gentleman said "We encourage for those to walk in instead of making appointments." It was very easy to find and there were plenty of parking spots. There was only one other car that was getting checked when I pulled up. The younger gentleman helped me and was super kind! He drove the car into the garage as I sat in their waiting area. The waiting area had a full library for those wanting to entertain themselves. However, it only took about 15-20 minutes ever since I arrived! Super fast and it really made me want to continue coming here. Especially with how friendly everyone was! Don't forget the yelp check in with cash only special! (They take card too but i think it's like $5 more) . Will be recommending this location to my friends and family :) read more

They did an ok job of the smog check. The elderly gentleman at the desk insisted on spouting off anti-Israel propaganda non stop. It was uncomfortable- keep your political opinions to yourself. Just wanted to get a smog certificate to sell my car. I won't be going back. read more

I just had my truck smogged at instatune. INCREDIBLE SERVICE. Don't go anywhere else to get your vehicle smogged. I called earlier in the day and the owner was super helpful. He told me not to worry and to bring in my truck at 5pm even though they closed at 5:30. I came at 5pm. The owner is super friendly, easy going, and personable. I had a great experience and would get my truck smogged here every month if I had to, honestly. read more

I'm back!!! My fourth time in 8 years. It feels like these damn smog checks are always sneaking up on me, but having a tried and true smog check place for so many years makes it less of a hassle as I'm in and out in a little over 5 minutes. Usually, the owner is there but today Andy helped me from beginning to end and he was AWESOME. He is full of jokes and got laughs out of me. You'll get way more than a cut and dry smog check, but a little character and personality along with it! See you in 2 more years! read more

Best smog shop in town, great prices and fast service. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone.

This is the most consistent smog place I have ever been to. In addition, there is a $9 discount for cash ($40 vs $49). Instatune is on Yorktown near Beach in HB. I have dealt w/ so many smog places that take too long, don't take people in order, or charge too much. InstaTune dispels all those notions. If you live in the area, this is the place to go to get your smog cert for DMV renewal. read more

I've been going here for years and it's always a great experience! Fathi is a very kind person and very funny. Amine is also very friendly and you can usually get in and out in about 15-20 minutes without an appointment. A few years ago, I had just got my vehicle back from a solenoid coil repair and the check engine light was turned off. My vehicle wasn't ready to pass smog at that moment so Amine gave me a few pointers on how to get my Engine Control Module (ECM computer) prepared or ready so I can pass smog. It took a few days of driving but I passed and Amine was very helpful the whole time. After that, I bought an OBD2 handheld scanner (about $50) so I could check my status if I needed to in the future. So about a month before my smog was due in Nov 2024, my ECM threw a code that couldn't be erased so I needed to buy a new ECM. The first one didn't work so I had to return and replace it with a new one. So I had to drive my vehicle about 60 miles with some freeway and city driving combined. So by having the OBD2 scanner, I knew when my car was prepared to pass smog. The yellow light on your OBD2 scanner means your car is in the preparation mode and when you have a green light, you are ready to pass smog. Just went yesterday and saw Fathi and Amine and my car passed. I wrote this just so this might help customers who have a similar situation can prepare for a smog check and know they will pass before taking your car to the facility. read more

I sold a little SmartCar to an out of the area buyer. We went to the AutoClub to enable the transfer, and... turns out we needed a smog check. They suggested InstaTune. The shop is a work of art, something out of the past, with a true "Home Town" kind of atmosphere and staff that is both welcoming and professional. They were busy, but we were still in and out in half an hour ~ simple, efficient, and done. Most fascinating is the waiting area which doubles as a Lending Library ~ you bring in a book and take out another book. Plus the great fun of reading through old volumes while you wait. Sort of makes you wish that the actual smog check took longer! The great service is appreciated ~ Thanks! Richard E read more

I used to go here before because they had a coupon in the Pennysaver and I always enjoyed talking to the owner. For some reason, we don't get the Pennysaver anymore. I'm not sure if the Pennysaver is still in business. Anyways, I forgot the name and where they were located so I asked a friend for a referral and he mentioned a place that turned out to be the place I used to go to. They have since moved a couple doors down to a bigger space closer to the street. I like this place alot. The staff are very friendly and efficient. This is one of the few businesses that I feel like I'm seeing a good friend. The owner is always pleasant and has interesting stories. I highly recommend this place and their checkin deal is one of the lowest around. read more
