Well... this time with a different car, I went online to see if I could find any discounts. I found one here with Easy Smogs, I made an appointment. When dropping off I met a nice big smiled gentleman named Jamal. We began talking as he set up my service paperwork. He is nice, well spoken, and a genuine down to earth dude. The funny part is Jamal worked on two of my vehicles at his prior job location before purchasing Easy Smog. With that being said, if you need a Smog Test for your vehicle Jamal with Easy Smog is the place to go in the HB area. They know what they are doing and get the job done right. Really quick service, customers are always flowing in, parking can be crowded. The technician recommended I go to a DMV kiosk to renew my registration. Please note it will take 3 to 5 hours for the smog results to post to the DMV records - as explained to me by a DMV agent. Unfortunately, I went prior to the 3 to 5 hours processing period, whereby, the DMV kiosk had asked for a 'renewal fee deposit' to have the registration card and sticker mailed once the smog results have been acknowledged. read more

Stat Away!!! This place is a scam! My normal smog guy was not open and sent me here. I had a coupon for $10 off plus recheck. He tested my truck and all the readings passed but he can back and said his "visual dashboard gauge" test failed. He had a mechanic standing next to him and told me it failed but this mechanic could fix it. I said no and drove it back to my mechanic who hooked it up to the computer and said everything was fine. He also told me that it is illegal for a Star smog station to recommend a mechanic. I took it back and he said it was fine and passed. Nothing changed! He would not give me my car until I paid another $20 for the recheck even though my coupon said free rechecks! Stay away! This guy is a crook! read more

The person who did my smog accidentally locked my keys in my car when moving it into the parking spot. When I informed him of what happened, he tried to Jimmy the door but couldn't do it. He had another customer and just gave up and it was basically my problem after that. I reached out to the manager and he was nice enough to refund me the money I had spent on the smog. It has been a long time since I had a car old enough to require a smog check. What to do? Asked a neighbor and he highly recommended this outfit, and I crosschecked it on Yelp. Although only 2 reviews they were a 4 and 5 star. I pull into the cramped U shape lot that is surrounded by several auto repair shops. Man, talk about being in bed with your enemy/competitors. The owner/mechanic was pulling in a vehicle ahead of me and gave me a big smile and a hearty wave. Friendly place eh? Ah not so much. His (assuming) wife gave me a grumpy snort when I greeted her with an enthusiastic good morning. Pity the fool that has to put up with her at work and at home. She gruffly demands my documentation and pushes the paperwork back at me for my John Hancock. As I am signing, I swear to dog she picks her nose right in front of me. Hey! I saw that! What a precious little flower of a gal. Lovely. Well the good news is that I was back on the road in 20 minutes, and only $55 poorer with my pass certificate in hand. 19 hours ago I've been bringing my family, friends and work vehicles here for 14 years now because we're always so very-impressed with the professional expert knowledge, guidance, care, speed of service, test results and the overall experience that's constantly displayed by them. Every time that we've ever tried a cut-rate smog center, it proved to be extremely costly and disastrous because subsequently, those vehicles were unnecessarily permanently labeled as gross-polluters which killed their resale value and the love held for them.
