I work for a third-party attempting to complete a verbal verification of employment for a person whose company utilizes Insperity. I attempted to call Insperity at 4:30 PM CST (They're in CA, and close at 5:00, should be no problem, right?). I spent 45 minutes on hold, with their automated message telling me there wasn't a single caller in front of me for 30 of those minutes. So why did no one ever answer? This is incredibly unprofessional. I'm at work too, and my time is valuable. I can't sit around for the better part of an hour waiting for someone to answer the phone to say, "Yes, this person is still employed by their current employer." How difficult is that? Why each call takes 10+ minutes anyway, I'll never understand. But 45 minutes for a verbal verification? Asinine. read more

Absolutely the worst experience I have every had in 16 years in business. We left after three months because the amount of work required to work with Insperity was easily four times the work I had to do before. In addition, the expense was extremely high. They 'sold' us on the idea that I would be spending little to no time managing the payroll/HR aspects of my company. The opposite happened and some weeks I was spending hours dealing with it. There were additional liability insurances they forced me to get, at great and unnecessary expense. We finally left because the burden was just to much and the service we were getting was terrible. I never talked to the same person, easily talking to more than 30 different people over about a month and a half. The set up process was basically a full time job. Now that we have left they are refusing to provide us with our employee's W2s and told me to "go ask your employees for copies". Not happening. I have been emailing and calling them for over two months about this and still do not have them. Our corporate taxes had to be extended and now we cannot do personal taxes because corporate taxes are not done, all because they refuse to turn over our employee's W2s. Finally someone emailed me back after several terse emails and said "I have been emailing you and YOU did not respond". I looked for the emails and could not find them. When I relayed this to the person she said, "opps, I was emailing ______@____.com". THAT IS A FORMER EMPLOYEE'S EMAIL ADDRESS!!!!!!!! Instead of responding back to me, they somehow went into my file and found the email of a FORMER EMPLOYEE and were emailing that person with personal information. Even after that as I write this I still do not have my employees W2s and am worried they will send those to another former employee..... This place is awful and frankly a liability to your business. Do not waste your money here, you will regret it. It has been a year since we left and they are still impacting our business negatively. Stay away! read more

Worse PEO service. We moved from CA to PA and they messed up both our taxes. First, I knew PA had local tax so I made sure that it will be taken out of my paycheck, but Insperity never took it out; now I have to make sure I send the local tax to whatever PA tax place. I even tried to call and sent emails, no reply. Then eventually when they did reply, they said "we will work on it." They never did and eventually I gave up. Even worse, is what happened with my boyfriend's payroll and taxes. They took out 2 local taxes and a school tax when we dont even own property in PA. And same thing, tried to call, no answer, when did answer, no help, and now his w2 was so messed up. And apparently PA dont want to return the extra paid local tax and school tax. Also, for his, Insperity wrote his w2 wrong, made him have an income of $40k more. They wouldnt have done anything unless we told them. So anyone reading this, I am very angry and want you to know, do not go for Insperity; they are absolutely awful. Cant get the correct numbers and taxes all over the place, wont answer you and have poor customer service. read more

We hired Insperity and terminated with them after 3 months. We requested cost for COBRA insurance for 3 employees and they provided us an estimate. Their Estimate was competitive for premiums but they did not divulge their service of setting up the account @ $4500 for 3 employees and $750/month to service a premium check for 3 employees. Turns out it was buried in the fine print on their website but nowhere on the 2 page contract. Here's the fun part. They advertise themselves as experts but they sent their invoices to a wrong address. Our mailing address is clearly stated on the front page of the contract, but thru their own fault they claim they sent invoices for 3 years to a different address. We finally got an invoice for $26,750 at the correct address when COBRA ran out after three years. We never knew they were invoicing us and now they are trying to collect. What kind of a company bills for three years but never picks up the phone, send an email or a fax as an alternative method of contact to let us know there is a problem. We would have addressed the issue after a month or two or thee of late payments. They claim to be the business experts but never tried to contact us and now they are trying to hide behind a clause that is buried so deep in their website that no one but an attorney would know it was there and maybe not even an attorney. They withheld money for for my Health Savings Account of nearly $7,000 - but when I got my W-2 Form, it showed only $5,000. Since my paychecks were incorrect, I foresaw the problem and asked them in November to make sure it was corrected by the time I got my W-2 in January. Sure enough, it wasn't. It is March and I'm still chasing down the corrected W-2 Form! She told me it would be February but that was a month ago and I never received it in the mail. Upon calling, I'm now told to go download the form. Since I was never told about the option to "opt in" to electronic delivery in the first place, I now have to fill out a form and send it to them so I can get it by mail - and that will take another 10 days. Total frustration due to their incompetence. read more

Useless company with horrible service to employees that are subject to their care! Administaff lacks proper HR knowledge & adequate info systems. They have different offices scattered in SoCal & Houston that does not share the same info. When a problem arises or a question is raised, the representatives like to blame their other division such as the HR rep, workers' comp, payroll, retirement svcs, etc. My co used their services and they messed up on my account several times. I had a paycheck that was lost because I was on direct deposit and decided to switch Bank Accounts. By doing so, Administaff couldnt make the change and had to issue a paper check to my supervisor for me to cash without consulting me or letting me know this was happening at all! Also, since I am no longer with the company since April 08, I decided to rollover my 401k to my Bank. In July 08, I then found out I couldnt move my account because payroll in Administaff has me as Actively Employed! I am likely to have to wait 30-days period before I can move my own money!!!! One of the worst companies I've ever worked with. Horrible service at an outrageous cost. They try hard to make it difficult for you to understand their costs. Benefits: They intentionally dilute the value of their health insurance offerings by negotiating to take certain health providers out-of-network that would not otherwise be out-of-network! What a disgrace. They sell you on the value of their negotiating power because they have greater than 100,000 people under their health plan, but then they come back and discriminate against your company by individually assessing your costs and increasing premiums based on how much they pay on your behalf in any given year. This is something the health insurance company cannot do, but Insperity is allowed to do it because they're your "employer." 401k: Their 401k offering is supper high fee, but their outside record keeping on other plans is so horrible, that you feel like you have to use their 401k plan. It seems like they intentionally provide poor service to push you to pay them more. FICA Maximums: They neglect to tell you that you will pay extra social security taxes if you switch to or cancel Insperity mid-year and have employees that will reach the social security maximum during the year. Payroll: They screwed up our payroll 3 times in a 6 month period. Then, when I tried to make sure it wouldn't happen again, the payroll specialist would argue with me. Forms: They constantly make you use paper forms instead of electronic forms. It's a massive burden on you and your employees. Overall: Atrocious service, overpriced, not worth it. this place is a complete scam. i requested a 401k rollover, and entered "pay to" info as instructed by my new company's 401k financial institutions guidance. i was able to enter the request in the Insperity system, but when I received the check it was truncated by 2 digits. when I reached out, I was told I had done something wrong, when they were the ones who printed the check incorrectly? if there was an issue with the number of characters, I should not have been able to enter that many and/or should have been contacted about the issue. i now have a bad check, and they want me to pay another $50 to void the check due to their incompetence and error. what a nightmare place--how are you even in business?!! read more

Insperity is the WORST PEO I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with - both as an executive at a company that used them and as an employee who had to deal with them. Their people are robots and can only repeat the script they are handed - all the way up the chain. No one can answer a question directly or really help you out. I have had nothing but miserable experiences with them - perpetually late with their mailings to me with notifications of changes to COBRA and premiums. I simply cannot say enough to stay away from them if you run a business...and to complain to your HR/Benefits manager if you hear they are being considered. Just terrible company - and they do not empower the people I can envision in cube farms..headset on, trying to find a script other than "we're glad you chose Insperity to serve you...". First of all, they make me do their job for them. What is the point of paying them if they don't actually do anything? Secondly, they email late at night, then reach out again first thing in the morning saying "Hey, why aren't you responding?" Um, maybe because I don't live at my job and have a life, and I'll get to you either that business day or the next as I gather what you're asking for while wrapping my head around why you're so incompetent you can't do it yourself considering it's your job. Thirdly, they drag our meetings trying to make themselves sound like they're needed more than they are. It's not that hard, I can read. Spare me the 40 minutes of droning and just leave after the 5 minutes of useful, somewhat, information. Plus, they say to use add-ons that are free, so you set up a time, only to find out that no, it's not free, it's just a sales tactic to get you to talk to more of the same. The Health plan they offer is trash, cool, it's everywhere, but definitely quantity over quality. If it were up to me, we wouldn't be using them at all. read more

For the HSA they restrict you to one bank which has very poor reviews and likely only has customers because of companies colluding to force employees into this bank. Apparently whatever kickback they get from this bank is more important to them than your health benefits. All communications related to seeing if they were willing to be more flexible on this policy just get a generic customer service response that does nothing to answer questions. Luckily I am young and fairly healthy so hopefully I will have better options if/when I ever do need to use any of these services. read more

Sorry folks can't give them any star yelp made me give it one star. The short experience was so horrible that short of it is we do a better job with adp and much cheaper. The salesman said one price and reality was 4 times that. Dropped out after the first payroll. I was forced to run payroll before I could get a report of what is in it. He said I can't tell you the details till you process your payroll. Found out a week later what was in the report and the salesman lied. Lots of apologizes from higher up and they returned most of the money I spent and even offered to donate to one of my charities to make up for it but that got rejected with no explanation. Save your money or hire a HR specialist to sit in your office for the prices they are charging! All I can say is run away read more

I have so much bad experience with Administaff that I hate that company. Frequent errors with their pay accounting and constant issues with benefits. They even send a lot of e-mail spams to promote their money-making, they call, Administaff benefits. Lately (12/31/2009), they failed to deposit employee pay to banks which caused so much inconvenience to their customers. A lot of employees were on holiday vacation during that period. Direct deposit is something that should never fail. Administaff is incompetent and I hope that my employer get rid of them. read more

During the information session when they came to enroll them employees, they gave us very bad advice about income tax withholding, saying that it's better to not to have anything withheld -- no mention of interest or penalties we'd owe for not paying taxes throughout the year. They also gave misleading information on health insurance coverage but which has costed me a bundle and left me unable to get insurance for a couple of months After I left the company that was being serviced by them, it was impossible to get some of my reconds, and they gave confusing and inconsistent information on my employment that I had to submit to other organizations read more

72 hours to respond to an email. Seriously? Literally every other customer service center I've ever emailed has responded more quickly, usually within 24 hours, and this is an HR company. Also, why do they tack on a $2 administrative fee EVERY SINGLE month to get commuter benefits with no fee-free alternative (e.g. not direct deposit onto a card)? They also somehow managed to pick one of the worst health insurance providers in my state, but ONLY FOR THIS STATE. Our offices in other states have a decent provider. Absolutely terrible company, would be better off using Quickbooks. We used Insperity as a PEO for 1 year. When insurance started to change for 2014, they refused to provide us any benefit changes to evaluate in a reasonable and timely manner. We were forced to wait until the last minute than scramble to find our own insurance offerings since Insperity's were substandard to what we were accustomed to offering our employees. Since we wanted to choose different insurance, we were no longer able to offer insurance as a pre-tax benefit. This forced us to terminate the PEO arrangement. We used Insperity as a payroll service and this is where the true incompetence of the company and it's employees showed itself. The company would not allow me to configure any pay items or deductions and showed absolutely no comprehension of how a payroll should work. We terminated at the end of the 1st quarter with notice and asked that they complete all Quarterly forms and submit all withheld payments. We have received thousands of dollars in fines and penalties due to their incompetence as a payroll company. We can not get any documentation from them as to when they submitted taxes withheld or if they even submitted them. Their incompetence to file returns per contract and submit withheld taxes has been causing us undue headaches for 7 months at this point. read more

For the most part, Insperity is "ok". I tried to "increase" my health benefits, but no success (I'm willing to pay more). After working for a large company, my new small company uses Insperity for HR benefits, payment, etc. I don't recommend their inferior healthcare coverage. I've had United Healthcare before, they are not equal my previous companies. read more

We use Insperity to handle our company payroll and benefits. They are terrible and I would not recommend them to anybody. They do not know how to stop wage garnishments - after a claim has been paid in full and just keep taking money out of your paycheck and sending it to the creditor even after the creditor has been paid in full and they are supposed to stop taking it. read more

Insperity is the most dishonest company I have ever had the bad luck to be associated with. We hired Insperity in the belief they would take care of our employees not steal money for unwanted health insurance. My wife and I both have acquired other health insurance. In my case Medicare with additional part B,C &D coverage. In my wife's case a much better policy than Insperity offered at a lower monthly cost. For several months we have tried to cancel the Insperity health insurance and run into a brick wall. All the robots at Insperity can say is "IRS RULE 125". I ended up resigning my position to get of this terrible company and get the redundant health insurance canceled. All I have to say is this, "My experience with Insperity and Administaff is not an isolated incident based on all these other reviews." Horrific, unprofessional joke of a company. I deal with the San Diego-based office. I had an unbelievably awful experience with them when I went on maternity leave. I could not get a straight answer from anyone over there in regards to what I was entitled to leave-wise. Luckily, I work in the legal department so I knew what my rights are--what was disconcerting was that Insperity did not know what my rights are. When it came time to discuss with my employer return-to-work arrangements, Insperity actually communicated to my employer that if they honored any of my requests, my employer would be setting itself up for a discrimination lawsuit.
