Original review: I found alot of missed damages the inspector did not and i had to repair them from my own pocket after i purchased the home. They responded fast and were available but whats the point if they dont inspect it correctly. If you notice most of the reviews are made by brand new accounts giving him 5 starts which is obvious he made them. I Paid $400 for a HQS inspection AND a $60 regular inspection for my condo. The lightswitch sensor did not turn on and off properly had it buy new one and replace. The floor near the kitchen entrace had wood that was not properly glued onto the tile that i had to glue myself. The shower has water leaking from the bottom faucet even when lifted all the way up. None of this issues were included anywhere in the report given to me. I even had a lightbulb in the sink bathroom area that only survived 2 weeks since it was burned out but thats not too big of an issue. Overall all the major issues were found but there was still things that were missed im the report. I could not be there in person to see it but I trusted it will be done throughly. read more

Inspection Perfection did a great job. I emailed Will Johnson on a Thursday in hopes to get a Saturday afternoon appointment. He quickly answered all my questions and concerns. To simplify matters, I was able to sign an agreement online and we were booked in a matter of hours. Paul Harriot was the gentleman who actually did the inspection. He was there on time, was extremely professional, and did a good job. He found a handful of minor issues and a couple moderate issues. One of which I had not even thought off. Armed with this knowledge, I was able to go back to the negotiation table and get an additional $500 for repairs. My one and only small complaint is the size of the pictures within the actual inspection. The largest picture was on the cover of the report and the remaining pictures were pretty small. Nonetheless, the report was concise, easy to understand, and confirmed no major issues to worry about. Inspection Perfection gets a 5-star rating from me. Thanks guys!!! read more

At first I didn't intended on using Inspection Perfection because I had a guy referred to me by an agent friend of mine that I know and trust immensely. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, It was imperative that I get an inspection the following morning and the other guy was unavailable. Finding this out late on a Friday night, I looked up companies on Yelp early on a Saturday morning. I found a few companies that said they were open at 7am. Inspection Perfection had great reviews and they called me back. I got super lucky and they fit me in that day. I arrived on time to the house and Will had just arrived before me. The home was bigger than 3500 square feet and had an additional workshop. The house was a fixer so he had his work cut out for him on a hot summer day. There was a lot to look at and document. He was clearly working for me with my best interest in mind. He wanted to make sure I had a vivid and clear understanding of what his findings were. A quick verbal summery at the home, a rundown over the phone, and of course a very detailed report. He told me more than once to call him if I have any questions or need help understanding anything in the report. They usually have a 24 hour policy for turn around time on reports, however, Will new my dilemma and went out of his way for me emailing me my report before he went to bed that night. This is the type of service that you would maybe expect from a friend. Will treated me like a friend going out of his way which was not an easy task because this ended up being a whopping 114 page report! My agent had never seen a report this long in all of her many years in real-estate. Will did a great job! That house would have been beyond a fixer. He saved my family and I from buying a money pit!!! Instead of picking a home inspector in the blind, Yelp helped me find the company that I really needed. I should have gone with the inspector that reviewed the property I was selling. We were moving into a bigger place and the reviews were great for this place. Unfortunately the expectations didn't pan out. The inspection seemed to consist of a big push for the energy efficiency services Will also provides and may have detracted from the errors in his assessment (eg: saying the ceilings were 8 feet when they were 7.5, missing damage to a bathtub, missing multiple broken outlets...). When I did do the energy assessment, the report came back flawed: stated 1 story when in fact the property was 2 stories, and other mistakes. Will is responsive, but unfortunately lacked the thoroughness and accuracy I would expect from a home inspector. If you are selling and buying, see who evaluates your property and consider them. read more

Stop any concern over the quality of the report, thoroughness of the inspection or reliability of the inspector. Just go ahead and call Will up and schedule the inspection. Will was always responsive with questions by phone or when we were looking over his shoulder during the inspection. I have a construction background and understand many of the potential problem areas of concern in a property. Will has the knowledge, modern equipment & thoroughness to identify these items. He identified all issues I was able to find as well as some other items not visually apparent. Tested all built-in appliances and checked all doors/windows. Even though I believe technically they are only responsible to check a representative percentage of the windows. Things to understand hiring Will or any inspector, since this will undoubtedly affect your inspection & ultimately homebuying experience... Understand what Home Inspectors review and do NOT review. Get coverage on things they do NOT review. i.e. pest/termite inspection. I'd say the next big mistake is when the inspector states in the report something is suspicious and requests follow-up by a plumber or electrician; heed the advise & get this follow-up review. AND, I've already referred Will to a friend, who hired him as their inspector and they have had a similarly worry free experience. Both of us first time homebuyers. read more

Had used the service twice in recent years. Everytime I received professional service.

The inspector seemed very knowledgeable. I had an inspection done on a 1968 home. I was quoted $335 for 900sq which seemed lower then the rest which were around $400. So i went with them. But after the inspection and getting the report back i feel he didn't do much after reading the report. Many lines on the report stating this is not part of the inspection. Also stating have a qualified technician look at the situation more. I thought you was the qualified technician. He advices me the room is at the end of its like 12 to 2 years. On the report it says 1 to 3 years. I ask him for an estimate he says im not sure. OOOOOk. He says the house's amp need to be upgraded from 100 amp to 200 amp. I ask how much will that cost. Im not sure. He says your pressure is low in the bathroom. Have a plumber inspect with a scope. He says that will be 100 to 150. I ask if they do it, they dont. I look for one and find out other home inspectors include that in the price. Just an FYI go with a good inspector that includes a video scope and looks at the home in detail when looking for a home inspector. Most of the stuff he found i could of found if i would have looked. read more

Unethical, in a word; unprofessional in professional reputation. Everyone makes mistakes, but people with principle take responsibility and make some extensions to amend. Not these guys. Our family trust bought a condo from a licensed contractor, who in negotiations, agreed to fix all issues prior to sale. We hired Inspection Perfection, paid the full inspection price and received an inspection where they neglected to check the shower valves in both bathrooms. One was completely frozen and inoperable, the other was about 90% frozen and barely operable. The condo seller fixed all items, according to his word except for the 'undiscovered' inoperable shower valves.. When the new tenant and young daughter couldn't take a shower, they notified us and we began the process to fix valves. Long story made short, the 'mistake' cost us 2 months and nearly $2k to resolve, which included rent proceeds reduction to compensate the tenant for reduced living conditions. So, thinking Inspection Perfection were professional and ethical, and before I came to Yelp, I invested yet more time to communicate their mistake to them. Wouldn't it be nice to see on Yelp they ultimately hold themselves accountable? What I received over a number of emails were denials, argumentative defensiveness, and finally a "demand" for me to submit the entire civil case, including evidence, before they would consider a fractional cost offer in compromise actual damage settlement. Now the family is investing yet more time and resources in preparation of a small claims action, to gain the appropriate response from Inspection Perfection. Originally, we could have finished this with a simple apology and assurance of their ethical standings for the future. Not these guys. Their 'comprehensive fill in the blanks' report actually has a number of other errors, additionally assisting to document their negligent inspection. Although the report is factually unreliable, thankfully will make the litigation to establish their negligence that much easier to prove. But still, who has time for this kind of stuff? Inspector Paul Harriot made the mistake, Will Johnson expanded the mistake into an ethical and unprofessional dilemma. I'm looking at the number of reviews here on Yelp; The score is 18 good, 2 terrible. I don't think most consumers can afford that kind of an "error rate", especially in consideration of the terms of dollars at stake. Especially understanding of their refusal to accept responsibility and make extensions to remedy the damage from their mistakes. read more
