    Bar Six - Awesome scene!

Located in the…read moreParekh House, it feels almost like an apartment complex turned lounge, overlooking the vibrant Wyndham and just a stone's throw away from Soho and Lan Kwai Fong. The drinks are solid here, but the casual, comfy vibe is what keeps me coming back. There is a small bar counter, surrounded by plush comfy sofas, and an outdoor terrace. The bartenders and Will the manager are fun and friendly, a nice alternative to the bouncer enforcer venues just a few doors down the street. The couches are comfy enough to fall asleep on, which has probably happened to folks who've had one too many to drink. Happy Hours are only weekdays here from 6pm-9pm, which are ideal primetime drinking hours. Weekends are much busier here, but still quieter than most of the ground level drinking holes on the street. Fancy a drink earlier in the week? Good news is the cocktails are 2-for-1 on Mondays and Tuesdays. I usually grab myself a whisky based drink or one of their less sweet cocktails and chat along the terrace while enjoying the view and good company. There are some days where I'd rather come and relax before / after embarking the pretentious Central scene. This is one of the few safe bets for a quality drink with an equally quality ambience.

I enjoy sharing stories and experiences with each other, kind of guilty though to realize someone has never been to LKF before, haha, hope others enjoyed the night just like me. Well, talking about Bar Six, or should be written as "Bar 6ix", as shown inside, it is nice, delicate and comfortable, which is a lounge designed bar, with two long sofa chairs placed aside as "L" shape, so plenty of space and privacy are provided. There is a smoking area outside in terrace, where you can sit on high chair to enjoy whiskey and cigar. The view is not very attractive but sitting tall outside in concrete jungle is always enjoyable. More than that, Will, the manager and his team are super friendly and cheerful, they recommended different cocktails, came around all the time to make sure the drinks were good, taught the girls magical tricks -burn your finger with fire, haha, which was a really cool lesson before we left with big smiles. Btw, Kevin, we called you to get another drink but you didn't answer, haha, next time maybe!

So we could barely see anything but we thought it's ok we're just gonna enjoy the drinks and foods. Well it turned out the view already was the best part of the night. We ordered 4 cocktails and only 1 was good. We didn't finish the other 3 because they just tasted horrible. My advice is just get something simple like gin and tonic or coke and rum. Their own signature cocktails were a waste of money. We also ordered fries and fried chicken which were overcooked. They were probably left in the fryer for too long. The wagyu beef slider was actually quite delicious but hey we paid $180 for 1 slider it'd better be good. Overall it was a very disappointing experience. I don't think I would come back again..

The atmosphere is intimate and fun, making it easy to see why this bar has earned such a strong reputation. Every drink felt like an experience rather than just a cocktail. That said, I was surprised by how aggressively the staff pushed for an additional tip after already adding a service charge to the bill. It felt out of place, especially in Hong Kong where that is generally not the expectation. It honestly felt more like something I would expect in the United States. Overall, the drinks and concept were excellent, but the awkward tipping interaction took away from an otherwise great experience.

The inside is very cozy with the bar as the center. I read the menu is seasonal and completely changes. My guess is what we had in December 2025 is no longer on the menu. The two cocktails we had was very unique with unusual ingredients. I think it was called Like-Minded Creatures and Paradox. Somehow the unusual ingredients came together very nicely. They do not skim on the liquor. I had a good buzz after one drink. In case you're wondering, they do not serve food. Just snacks/chips. Our server was wonderful. She didn't hover, but came to our table as soon as we make eye contact. I recommend this cocktail spot. We had a good time. Not fit for large/big groups. Perfect for 2-4 friends.

One night I noticed it was open and completely dead but the Filipino cover band was jamming hard and there were signs for happy hour plastered all along the outside. Music and discounted drink prices are an easy way to sucker me in. But what I got was so much more. Maybe more than I would've asked for. You see, Amazonia isn't just any bar, but one of the many Filipino girly bars within the seedy Wanchai scene. I only realized this after noticing that while bopping my head to some Aerosmith / Journey covers that I was the only dude sitting alone and then after 8pm, a swarm of pinays came in and with that a steady crowd of middle aged white guys came creeping in. It's a scene that's been played out throughout Asian bars throughout the Southeast, but I was staring at it right in the face. From a bystander's point of view, the place is big enough to merit all sorts of gatherings. There is a legitimate stage for serious band action and lots of comfy seats that create a loungey presence much more so than a dive bar one. Colors here are primarily red and black, which perfectly mimics any sort of red light district vibe. The bartenders enjoyed my company. My drinks stayed at regular prices where I noticed a slight uptick for some of the other patrons looking to buy gals everything from beer to mildly potent cocktails, emphasis on the mild. Amazonia stays open late every night, just beware of the calm before the storm which tends to occur right around 7-8pm. Come for the drinks and stay for the music. Beyond that, everything else is suspect.

Amazonia is a dirty bar, and by that, I'm not endorsing it as a place to do "that" sort of thing,…read morealthough their website does boast that it is "where Hong Kong's wild and wonderful people hang out - beautiful babes and the guys who come to meet them there", so read between the lines. For those not looking for beautiful babes, it's a place to get hot, sweaty, drunk and rock the night out. It's a great venue, that's dark and dingy, with lots of nocks and crannies to hide in. The sort of place where you should never go during the day, in case you see the state of the seats that you have been sitting in the night before. Having said that though, even during the day, it seems to be dark inside (despite the open bar frontage). The venue seems to suck in light like a black hole. However, what this bar offers, is a great dive atmosphere to drown your sorrows or celebrate your happiness. The drinks are pretty much to be expected in any Wan Chai bar, beers, wines, spirits, that's about it. I don't know if there is food, as I have never eaten there, nor seen anyone else eat there. In the evenings, there is table service (or standing service). The waitresses identify themselves with LED light badges and will take your orders and bring you drinks. This is useful, because walking around in the dark to find the bar could result in injury, and it gets rocking busy, so any excuse to avoid squeezing through the crowds to the bar is a good thing. What Amazonia is really known for is the pumping live music, that goes from 8pm to 6am every night. They have a great Filipino band that just never seems to stop betweens songs or sets. With the relentless noise, don't expect to come here for a conversation, just let the noise roll over you as you sip your drink or dance on the makeshift space at the front of the stage. It's actually an ideal place it you don't have anything to say to whoever your there with. Happy hour is opening to 9pm. Sports is played on the screens around the bar.
