The soup was very salty, very garlicky, and my spouse had to pick bay leaves out of it. The shepherds pie was . . . so not good. The mashed potato topping was a layer of what tasted like mashed baked potato (very dry and chunky). The inside tasted like someone had thrown together bovril, packets of frozen veggies, and half the contents of a salt shaker. We could not eat it, and I've made some pretty rough stuff that we've managed to get down. So, here I am with $50 of inedible food, and a glass dish that I've got to get back to Rose to get my $12 deposit back. I wanted to love this food, as this service would have made my life so much easier. I tried contacting Rose three days ago, to ask if the food had been a blip, and would I be better off ordering something different, but I have not heard back from her. TL;DR - Everything about Rose's Home Dish is great, except for the food, which makes hospital cafeteria food look great.

Noodles with peanut sauce makes for a couple of really filling lunches in the summer when you don't want anything too warm or too heavy. Burrito gigante, yup! Salmon cakes, so good! And I don't even really love salmon that much. Three of her dishes are astoundingly good and we order them nearly every time they're available: The Gumbo, the Shrimp Creole, and by far and away the best: the EGGPLANT PARM. All three are melt in your mouth to die for good. I kind of can't say enough about how great. Quality, mostly locally-sourced ingredients, prepared with an eye toward health-consciousness, but also with just amazing skill! What's not to love!?

To start, I had multiple conversations with Laura to relay the varying dietary restrictions of our group of 13 ladies. She was up for the challenge and provided me options for a menu that would accommodate every single person (gluten free, pescetarian, low fod map). It is so rare to have a meal for that many people that pleases everyone, and yet she accomplished it. Laura's husband dropped off the meal right on time, with instructions on how to heat up the entrees which was quite easy. We enjoyed a few appetizers (multiple people said it was "the best eggplant dip they had ever had"), then sat down for a beautiful meal with an amazingly fresh salad and delicious entrees. Laura provided all of the plates and cutlery, which made cleaning up a breeze. Thank you so much for providing one of the highlights of our weekend! I am already recommending your business to other groups who I know are going to the Finger Lakes for upcoming trips!

Her locally sourced food was excellently prepared and served family style, which allowed for guests to have different tastes of each beautifully made dish and to keep things casual and flexible. Pros: They deliver food from some of the best restaurants in Ithaca (the ones that don't deliver)…read morefor a reasonable fee. Depending on the restaurant you choose, your food often arrives quickly and the drivers are quite courteous. When the delivery is slow, it is usually the restaurant's fault. I often see Ithaca to go drivers waiting at restaurants while I am eating out. Cons: Their online and phone customer service is a bit lacking. If for some reason the delivery is slower than promised, an item is missing, or you have a special discount promotion, expect none of these issues to be resolved by Ithaca to go. They may promise a refund, they may promise to apply your "Ithaca car share discount" which is supposedly $2 off delivery for all car share members, but if you check your credit card these things never happen. The most annoying thing is that they keep on wasting my time with false promises, which leads to multiple calls on my part. I'd rather they just be honest and say "We don't accept the car share discount anymore, please contact car share so they know to stop promoting our business" or "sorry our system doesn't allow for refunds, here is a coupon code or how about I place a free second order for you".

After ordering, I left feedback saying how I feel like leaving a tip after already paying an additional mark-up cost may turn some people off of ordering from BingBites. Shortly after putting in my order, I receive a text asking me to do a one-time confirmation phone call? I thought that was a bit strange, but I accepted. The so called 'owner', Danny, called me shortly after, and asked me if I was Ryan, I said yes, and instead of "confirming my order" he starts lecturing me about why I should always leave a tip when ordering from them. Danny (the owner) was so unprofessional that I had to leave a review about it.. He seemed like he was either high or drunk with how he was talking and he must have been waiting for somebody to order from his service, that he had the time within 5 minutes of me ordering to text and place a call from his personal phone. Okay... After hearing this, my girlfriend and I decided we would get our food and try to enjoy the rest of the night. That's when the last and final startling thing happened that took us both by surprise. When our delivery driver 'Neal' showed up with our food. In order to even sign for our food, it was MANDATORY to press the TIP button on his phone. TLDR: Got a call from the owner (Danny) of BingBites, who sounded high and/or drunk within 5 minutes of ordering to yell at us about how we're not good customers unless we tip. Ended up needing to tip $5 to get our food anyways. It's clear that BingBites really does bite.
