The young lady behind the counter was very friendly. I ordered the regular sugar cookie to try. It came out fresh and WARM, OMG! I savored every bite! I wish that cookie was bigger like some of the other cookies offered. What a great concept of offering warm cookies! I promise you, something has started with me here. I'm craving them right now! Insomnia cookie is the perfect late night snack. It's open late for those moments you get cravings. They have such an assortment of cookies from your classic to your seasonal flavors. I ordered the snickerdoodle and the apple cider donut. Both freshly baked and oh so delicious. They also serve ice cream at this location. Man... talk about a late night snack. Even though I knew this was going straight to me getting love handles, I couldn't resist and I was so happy I did. Getting ice cream on top of any of their cookies is to die for. Especially this location is smart, being next to bars / restaurants it is a fantastic place to hit up after any of your events. Plus, the service was too notch - the service honestly gets a 10/10. I didn't get his name, but he knows who he is, and I would literally go back just to support him & their crazy amazing cookies. This is unacceptable, and I feel completely scammed out of over $40 for this f-ing joke. I asked her if they were at least lowering the price, and she said that it was a financial/corporate matter. I am extremely disappointed in what used to be my favorite place to get cookies. It was a little crowded but the line moved quickly. The staff was very friendly but a little distracted. The cookie was great, just enough chips and mint, maybe a TINY bit stale tasting! Additionally, if there's a line, sitting in the back on your phone in the view of customers should not be acceptable. I've heard good things about Insomnia Cookies and I read that they recently opened a store in Lincoln Park. I came by with a couple of my friends and we got a dozen of their cookies. We got everything and while some were good, the peanut butter cookie was so raw. I am a big lover of cookies that are soft on the inside, crunchy on the outside. But this one fell apart and left a huge grease stain on the parchment paper. I liked their snicker-doodle, white chocolate and chocolate chunk. I was a little bit disappointed by how small they were. I picked up from here one time after getting my nails done next door and checked the box as I walked out to find I had been given two M&M cookies instead of chocolate chip cookies... gotta love it. I thought I learned my lesson and placed a free delivery order tonight two hours in advance to be delivered at 8:45 PM. It is 9:20 PM and the order tracker still says my cookies are baking. Fell in love with this place when I visited NYC last year. I'm so sad that when I visited their Chicago location for the first time excited that there is one in my Midwest Hospitality Home Town , the service was horrible. The guy at the register was cold. Mean. Uninterested. Not helpful at all and j actually felt like I was disturbing his day by coming in to purchase what they were selling which ironically is how he gets to have a job during these challenging times. This is crazy... but when I went to Insomnia a couple days ago, the workers were able to match my face with my previous review. They apologized and I spoke mainly to Max and he gave me 3 free cookies + an ice cream scoop to make up for that day! He said it should have never happened and I should have been warned beforehand that they can't make the cookiewich which I asked for last time I came here. He talked to my sisters and I the entire duration we were there up until we left (they weren't busy). He even asked if I wanted anything else (on top of what he already gave me, but I declined). Then I I asked him if he would get in trouble for giving me the cookies and ice cream.... Max and his co-worker said that anytime they have a bad incident, they try to make up for it. I brought up the fact that most of their 1-2 star reviews are due to delayed deliveries. They explained to me that when customers order 16 cookies and they only have 12 at that moment, they have to make another 4 which takes 15-20 minutes. And then when they are really really busy, they just can't keep up with the orders no matter how fast they work mainly because they can only fit so many workers back there and they aren't like Dunkin Donuts where they keep their cookies sitting on the shelf. They try to make them fresh, otherwise they aren't keeping their word. Something else to keep in mind if you're coming on a MONDAY NIGHT. They get their ice cream deliveries on Tuesday. When we arrived, they didn't have cookies and cream, cookie dough or vanilla ice cream. So just be aware they may not have your ice-cream on Monday nights. read more

My double chocolate mint cookie, which was warm, didn't taste that unlike a Subway cookie either; fine, but nothing to write home about.
