I love this place!! I'm surprised by the bad reviews but only order bagels. We get their bagels on Saturdays or Sundays and they are so delicious, fresh, and so well seasoned. Their cream cheese is amazing too. The staff are also so kind and helpful. I've never had a bad interaction at Steingold's. The reason I'm giving 4 stars is that I feel the price point is a little high, particularly if you add cream cheese. read more

This is a no-frills, order and go kind of place. There is nowhere to eat here. They also have limited hours and days, so be sure to check. That being said, the bagels here are spectacular. As are the bagel sandwiches. Really classical bagels with a nice crust and a great chew. This is where they make their bagels, so they are super fresh, but it's a pretty industrial vibe in most of the place. That's no problem...I'm here for delicious bagels, not for cloth tablecloths and candles. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is that their attention to detail on their bagel sandwiches is not always the best. I've had a couple of order that were incorrect. It happens, but it shouldn't happen that much. So, check your order before you leave. Even so, I'll be back here as often as I can!! read more

We are lucky to have this wonderful place in the neighborhood. Amazing bagels and cream cheese, and I love to get a little bacon on mine. Babka latte (I get it iced with oat milk) is one of the best coffee drinks I've had in a while. The staff are lovely! Plus, a walk up window...dog people appreciate this :) read more

Came here on a Monday morning to get some bagels with my family. They have a nice selection of bagels and spread. This place does not have an area to sit as an fyi. It took about 10 minutes to get our bagels. I got a poppy seed bagel with veggie cream cheese it was good and the cream cheese was a great consistency not watery like some places. My son got a plain bagel with plain cream cheese and my partner a Za'atar bagel with veggie cream cheese. He enjoyed it and said it was full of spices. It was a good place to stop by before a park hang or when you're in Humboldt. read more

We had the strawberry bagel with chives and strawberry cream cheese and a garlic bagel with lox cream cheese and the banana pudding rice krispy and the lox with onion and tomato and cream cheese on challah bread. The challah bread could have been a bit more fresh. But the bagels were good and chewy. No indoor seating but there are two picnic tables right outside. No a fan of the banana pudding rice krispy but the bagels and sandwich were good! read more

My wife was really craving a bagel sandwich and this spot is conveniently located between our two jobs. The place definitely had efficient service. It is a grab and go spot so don't plan on sitting down. They do have a walk up window to order on sight. I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese on everything bagel. It was good but nothing to write home about and I feel like that's the same as many Chicago bagel places. The everything bagel was really salty. My wife ordered pastrami sandwich and really liked it. So if I go back I'll probably get that. They also had a lot of interesting smears that I wouldn't mind trying out. read more

I really wanted to like this place, but I was disappointed with both the quality and the price of the bagels and cream cheese. For six bagels and one small container of cream cheese, I ended up paying almost $32. The cream cheese itself wasn't very creamy, the cheese bagel was overly greasy, and the sesame bagel lost most of its sesame seeds before I even sliced it open at home. I understand it's a business, so I won't mention the other great bagel spots in the city where I've paid much less for better quality, but the difference was surprising. I also agree with other reviewers about the lack of price transparency -- prices aren't listed anywhere, which doesn't feel great as a customer. On a positive note, the staff was very friendly, and I genuinely appreciated that. I just wish the product and pricing matched the level of service. read more

Our host had recommended this place, so we thought we'd grab breakfast to eat on the road on our way out of town. It was fine, nothing to write home about. Maybe I was spoiled after having one of the best brunches of my life yesterday at Spinning J. The service was ok but I wanted to know the prices of some items in the refrigerator case, and I never did find out. There is zero ambiance as I guess it's intended to be a grab and go situation. But they could put some chairs in there as it was super awkward standing waiting the 10-15 minutes it took for our sandwiches to get made. You can see into the bakery where they make the bagels. Honestly they were just average bagels. The egg was an overcooked hockey puck, would definitely not order the egg sandwich again. The lox bagel was better, but nothing compared to the one I had yesterday. Anyway bottom line is there are soooo many food choices in the area, I probably won't return here. read more

Some people use that 1 star rating way too liberally, or maybe they take their bagels way too personally? Above average bagels with friendly and quick service. You can get cheaper, slightly better bagels elsewhere, of course, but for the convenient locations and relative quality, I don't mind paying $5 for breakfast. read more

I order from here quite often on Uber Eats and their bagel sandwiches and iced coffee HIT, every single time.

The customer service is top tier, always friendly and going above and beyond! The cinnamon sugar coffee is delicious!

Zingerman's they are not... The Rachel sandwich was $18. I knew that up front and expected a $18 dollar sandwich. It was THIN and I was charged an extra $.25 cents for the bread on the sandwich. A bagel and cream cheese was $5. New York Bagel and Bialy in the NW burbs is a fantastic bagel at half the price and their sandwiches are half the price and great quality. I also got 2 cookies and I was told they were baked yesterday. Sadly, I took them anyway and they were dry and a bit flavorless. The value is just not there. Kasia's Deli just down the street has better food and is a much better value. I left Steingold's very disappointed with a stunned look on my face as I walked to my car feeling as I was robbed. Sorry, I rarely write reviews unless they are great but I think you and potential customers need to know about my experience today. read more

Drove past Steingold several times and decided to give it a try. Bought a cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese and a slice of carrot cake. The bagel was average at best, and for five dollars, I expected a lot more. The carrot cake had to be the absolute worst that I have ever had. It was very dense with absolutely no flavor. Very disappointed. On the bright side, the staff were very nice, thus the reason for 2 stars rather than 1. read more
