This is really a spot where you stop in to grab a box of cookies and go. I think there is only two small tables for seating. But honestly I never paid too much attention. They do offer do offer online ordering. So if you want a specific cookie order online and pick it up. They also offer delivery. It's a bit pricey but it's a good spot for my favorites like chocolate mint and snickerdoodles. Don't keep them in the box if you want them to stay fresh. As soon as you get to where you're going, be sure to put them in an airtight container. It seems that they will only stay fresh for a few hours in the box. read more

First time I've ever been in an Insomnia Cookies establishment. Their cookies were amazing - fresh, warm, and delicious!! I had the chocolate chunk (250 calories), and the white chocolate macadamia (270 calories). It's nice that they post the number of calories for each cookie, but note to Management, people buying your cookies probably could care less about the number of calories in your cookies, Ha! The reason for a 3-star rating was the customer service fell short. There was no greeting, no smiles, and when I started to pay with cash, he stated that they were not accepting cash due to COVID-19....hmmm ok. Then when I left, there was no "have a nice day". I've ordered from Insomnia Cookies a few times now, with varying results. It seems to be hit and miss. I've never been in the actual shop, but I have gotten deliveries to my dorm room. One of the things that I do really like about Insomnia Cookies is that it is one of the few places in town that delivers ice cream, and I think it's the only place that delivers whole pints. I've tried both the mint chocolate chip flavor and the strawberry cheesecake flavor, and both were good. I preferred the cheesecake. I was pleasantly surprised that the ice cream was still completely frozen and not at all melted when it got to my door. The first time I ordered, I got the TBMOC, which is 24 cookies for 28$ dollars. I got a combination of chocolate chunk, double chocolate chunk, peanut butter chip, M&M, and double chocolate mint. I also got three milks, and a pint of ice cream. The milks are $3 each, and the ice cream is $7 for a pint. They were warm and chewy and absolutely amazing, the perfect thing I needed to sate my sweet tooth. The delivery girl was super nice and friendly, and it was a good experience. However, the second time, not so much. I got the same general order, with the flavors switched around, plus a premium Smores cookie for $2.95. The boy who delivered my order was annoyed by the fact that he had to call me to get my order. I live in a dorm with security, I'm sorry it was an inconvenience to you that I wasn't going to wait outside for half an hour? It was rude. The cookies were also underbaked. They weren't just soft, but fell apart like they hadn't been baked enough. The smores cookie had a weird, salty taste that wasn't worth it. I do think they're overpriced. I understand that I'm paying to have it delivered, but seriously? $7 dollars for a pint of ice cream and $3 for a single serving of milk? I'd order a lot more if the prices weren't so steep. I'd order from them again in the future, but I'll definitely be paying more attention to service and quality to decide if I should keep them in my regular take-out rotation or to call it a aday. read more

Awful. This is the third time my fiancè and I have tried ordering cookies from this place. The first time, the cookies turned up cold and stale and were worth less than we paid. The second time took three hours with no excuse. Tonight we received a call after placing our order only to be told that we would have to wait 2-3 hours because there were only two workers and they had to work their freight delivery. So, we told them we wanted to cancel the order. Well, that led to an argument because the employee became defensive and wanted to mansplain the importance of freight to my fiancè who is a freight worker! It ended in the employee hanging up. What can I say? I love Insomnia Cookies! I have been familiar with the store ever since their opening in Carbondale and have been inside of the store several times. Not only are the workers great at providing exceptional service, but the aroma that you get when you first walk into the store is to die for. I love the fact that they deliver and are open until 3 AM because in a college town, both of those things are great for college students. I love their traditional cookies, the chocolate chunk especially, as well as the deluxe cookie options. Not feeling just a cookie? No problem! They have brownies and ice cream as well! Want to combine those? They got that too! A cookiewich is two of your favorite traditional cookies wedged between your choice of ice cream. The cookies are always delicious, no complaints there. However the service is hit or miss. Recently I went into the store, saw no employee. I waited, figured they must've missed the doorbell so I reopened the door to set it off again. Still nothing. I waited for about 10 minutes for a cashier and no one showed. I peeked around the corner and saw an employee sitting in a chair on his phone, not looking up once. I ended up walking out. read more

Stopped in over the weekend. I almost didn't go because the hours listed on yelp said they were only open until 3pm. They are actually open until 3am. The cookies are average but at a premium price. A single cookie: $1.45, a dozen cookies: $15! The place is super small, but had 4 college age employees sitting around texting and waiting for a customer to show up. I know they offer delivery and that means you need to have people available to go out in the community but come on, do something while your at work besides sitting and playing on your phone. The different type of cookies are displayed in a basket at the cash register. When you make your choice, they pull your fresh cookie from a tray that is kept below the front counter. I picked a chocolate chunk and a peanut butter cookie, but when I opened my package of cookies at home, I noticed I got two chocolate chunk cookies instead of one of each type. The girl helping me obviously wasn't paying attention to my order. Overall, pretty poor service and an average cookie.
