This pet store is really awesome. They have a great variety, and their business plan seems to be to…read morecarry everything, which is great for every level of consumer at any price point. The store is clean and thoughtfully organized. Their toy and supplement sections are fantastic, and they have a lot of toys that I have only been able to buy online previously. While customers can find some truly great brands of food here (Orijen, Honest Kitchen, Primal frozen, etc), the store also carries a rather wide selection of not so hot foods (Bil Jac, Kibbles n Bits, etc), so consumers should be sure to do their research since corporate philosophy does not prevent them from selling very low quality/controversial foods. One surprising omission in food/treats was Sojos. One disappointing thing, and something that will most likely prevent me from buying food there regularly, is that they do not track loyalty programs. Wag n Wash, Pet Pantry, and Bentley's here in town all have methods of tracking loyalty programs for foods that offer them (Orijen and Honest Kitchen are the two with which I am familiar). Granted, I can cut out the UPCs, save them for months, mail them in, and get a coupon for free food, I appreciate the convenience of a store doing it for me, and think that is something that sets apart true boutique specialty pet stores.

Last night we had the worse customer service I have ever experienced in this store. My husband and…read moreI came to buy some fish for our kids, the only person available to help was this bearded guy with no name tag and when asked for help with the fish he immediately expressed his displeasure with doing the task. I then seriously asked this guy if he did not want to do it, we could leave and purchase from a different location and he immediate answer no what you want, we asked him for a red fin (and gave us red heart fish). While scooping the fish he did not use care or concern for them, scaring them all over the place to the point of his frustration on not able to catch any, he then took all the water plants and tossed them on the dirty floor, once he had gotten the fish put them back in. Maybe a considering factor of why this fishes don't last long. I will say we should have walk out immediately but one I was not in the mood to argue with this guy and two didn't want to have a further altercation he seems like the type of person his head will boil up for the smallest of thing even more so with women. So definitely a bad taste for sure, not sure I want to ever come to this store again.

This location is MUCH smaller than the one on Cheyenne Mountain Blvd; it still has a wide variety…read moreof pet foods, but not the massive selection and stock of the aforementioned store. The store was a little disorganized and the entryway was a little awkwardly laid out and dirty. They have a very small selection of fish but a surprisingly large number of betta fish, I assume because of the low traffic, so if you're looking for a betta check this place out(!!) and a tiny selection of fish foods. Their small animal supply section was very limited. If you're looking for something for your mice, gerbils, rats, ferrets, birds, etc. then you'd probably be better off looking in a different store. They have the basics in food, bedding, treats, and what have you, so if you just need to pick up a quick something like bedding you'd probably be alright. I wouldn't make this store my go-to for these animals though. The cat food selection focused mostly on your conventional national brands, but they did have a good selection of grain-free offerings in wet and dry foods. This store focused more on dog foods and products than anything else though. They had a complete half aisle for wet cat foods (one side) and a complete half aisle for litter and litter boxes. The dog food section had an aisle completely dedicated to holistic, grain-free, and other specialty foods and another of "regular" dog foods. They were a little lacking in the small breed, puppy, and small breed puppy foods though, but I was able to find a grain-free small breed puppy food (only one). There were a ton of toys, treats, beds, grooming supplies, etc. The staff was very friendly and helpful. That is always a great plus!

We asked if the water filtration system was for all tanks. Yes, but there is double filtration system so the ones we bought should be ok. We bought Ick treatment stuff just in case. So far, so good.

After reading some of this reviews here I'm quite saddened by some people's opinions. I agree that…read moreeveryone is entitled to their own opinions but if they took two minutes to become informed about this store they would probably retract their reviews. My family and I are new to the area after spending 8 years overseas. We were looking for an English Bulldog puppy to complete our home. Initially we were going to try the breeder route, but after coming across the Pet City in the Citadel Mall we didn't have to go any further in our search. Most breeders we encountered had already pre-sold their litters to other buyers and the ones we spoke with seemed to care more about money than where their dogs were actually going. Which I understand that this is the case when deciding to go into the breeding business. Within minutes of entering the store, Sharon, one of the employees approached us after we had found a beautiful Bulldog in the back. Any questions we had about the breed, feeding, care and overall health issues were answered with extreme knowledge and patience. We were hesitant at first with same ignorance that many people think of a mall pet store. But, after inquiring about where the puppy was from, the breeders name and history we did our own research about where our puppy was really coming from. Our puppy, in fact, was bred from a reputable breeder a couple of states away with a good reputation. It was not a "Puppy Mill" as some people think. Sharon was a complete sweetheart, took the time to talk to us about our trepidation, gave her honest opinion and shared her knowledge of the breed. By far the best customer service experiences we have ever encountered in any pet store around the World! The store had a very clean and tidy appearance. The dogs there were two to three to a cage with more than enough space to move about freely. The cages are very spacious and the 4 other times we were there we have never observed messes unattended. I say this because we had visited another store for supplies and left after seeing dried feces in two cases where dogs were sleeping that had obviously been there a while. The prices are quite reasonable for a mall pet store and they do offer a military discount on supplies which is always a great help. We took a while to think about it before we made our purchase, did our research, asked questions and became informed. Miss Maggie Mae has been with us for 2 months now with absolutely no underlying health issues. She is growing and striving at an amazing pace. Her vet says she's an incredible little girl. So, please, if you're stereotyping this pet store by what you think of all pet stores...don't. I would gladly share my experience in dealing with this store to anyone in search of a new member for their home.
