The doctor admitted to me they forget to sign order forms or date it when it's required. Because they are closed for 1.5 hours Monday through Thursday (they don't work Fridays) it is hard to get in contact about information not only for the patient but other offices. They place blame on others or even myself rather than be accountable for their lack of communication. My husband sent a sperm analysis and called to confirm and it took them 2 months later after I called with concerns for them to address it. I had to be the one saying we need to monitor my follicles to see if my body is reacting to the letrozole. When asked if there is any vitamins or supplements to support my health for reproduction, their response nope just pre-natal. The only positive about this office is Kessie and the nurses who draw blood. I would not recommend this practice unless you have the flexibility in your job to change your schedule around to be seen or even heard.

Dr. Stokes came highly recommended by the staff at the NOVA Natural Birth Center. My husband and I was grateful that he'd take me as a patient, and that he would even see us on the same day. His office was nice. His staff was efficient, competent, and kind. We didn't have to wait long. Dr. Stokes was gentle and patient. He spent good amount of time with us- didn't rush our appointment. He made us feel welcome and comfortable. We left the office feeling confident that we are in good hands. UPDATE (10/31/12)- Dr. Stokes is a wonderful OB. I had a very difficult pregnancy and Dr.Stokes gave excellent care. Due to all the complications, other OBs would have made me have my baby at 30weeks, but Dr.Stokes waited till 34weeks while keeping a real close eye on me. That extra 4weeks made a huge difference for my baby- way shorter NICU stay than her older sister who was born at 30 weeks. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr.Stokes. His office (Women's Health Care) billing person and the receptionist, I do not like at all. The receptionist was nice only the first two times or so. From then on, she was curt with no smiles, even used patronizing tone on me once. I disliked her so much that I didn't even like speaking to her on the phone. His billing person is incompetent. I spoke to her regarding refund about a month and half after delivery. I had paid upfront at the beginning of the care and knew that i was owed some refund due to having met my deductible else where (in and out of hospital for close monitoring and meeting specialists often). The billing person said she'd verify with my insurance and give me a call. She never did. I was busy with a newborn so I didn't follow up again until about two weeks ago. Someone at the office verified the amount of refund (matched the amount I learned from my insurance at least), but said the person who can cut check isn't there. She'll be in on Tuesday. I said I'd call if i didn't receive a check by the week after that. I called the office now to ask for status on the check. That same person I spoke to last time says the person who can cut the check is in today, so she'll generate the check today and it will be mailed out by Friday. My baby is three months old now. I shouldn't have to beg for my own money (over $500). She should've mailed me the check as soon as she got the EOBs from insurance. What if I never asked her about it? What if the check is still not here by next week? The other specialists I've seen, their office billing person noticed that I was over charged (I've met my out-of-pocket maximum with my insurance) and gave me a refund on the spot- credit back to my debit card, the way I paid. So, I'm unhappy with the billing person at the Women's Health Care.

The staffs are friendly but the doctor was grumpy during delivery and didn't know how to deal well with the complications I had. I was diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum which caused me to constantly throw up including water. I spent so much money going to the emergency twice a week just for an IV to survive. while this whole time he could've done what my friends doctor did for her when she was diagnosed with same thing. A nurse came and gave her an IV daily. That's just one example. Also during delivery he promised to help loosen up my pelvic floor to avoid tear, well I got 4th degree tear and that day he didn't even want to speak to me. That day the nurse was looking for him while I was giving birth and was not happy to be there. I got postpartum depression and a horrible experience I still cry now when I think of my delivery day. I highly highly don't recommend him please find a better doctor.

I lost my 33 year old brother from a heart attack due to a hereditary condition so the PA ordered some tests. The results came in, PA left a message so I called back (literally 4-5 different times) and then even asked during a separate visit if there were any concerns about my results. Nearly 7 months later they call to explain the results to me. Turns out that I have some off tests and it took that long. Seriously, when dealing with peoples lives, and tests are off, they should be communicated ASAP. The majority of the front office staff do not seem to have their stuff together and there is a huge language barrier with the nurse who takes my temp and asks questions prior to PA coming. very disappointed...do not recommend this place.

Gosh, this review is over a year overdue…read more.. The initial visit was at 7 weeks post conception. I called to make an appointment and he was able to see me within a week. We talked about expectations and norms during the first trimester and all the testing that needs to be done including genetic screening test for advance maternal age. Both, the game planning and the physical exam lasted for a good 30-40 min. So do allot ample time for the meet and greet/ info session. The rest of the appointments were all routine and quick. I have a background in labor and delivery so there was hardly Q&A sessions. I mostly took the last appointment in the afternoon which was around 3:15. I came in, pee in the cup, get weighed and he'll check vitals, fundus height, etc... 10 minutes and I'm out the door and back to work. THE DAY OF... My water broke at home 2 weeks before my due date. Called Dr. Tashman around 8 pm and didn't get to triage till 10 but he was already in waiting for me. I was admitted for ruptured membrane at 3cm and as usual my labor progressed rapidly, before 3am I was complete. I didn't have a birth plan but had one request and that was to labor down for as long as I could so I didn't have to push for long. We waited 1.5 hours longer before I was on the stirrups. Dr. Tashman was patient and worked with me when I was too tired to push. He was also very accommodating toward hubby and made sure he didn't pass out in the middle of delivery. I have a really tiny frame and tiny babies, my daughter came in at 5.9lbs after 30 minutes of pushing. The best part of having a seasoned OB was I didn't get any lacerations and only stayed at the hospital for a couple of days. The last OB I had with my son tore me so bad even though he was only 4.9lbs. This time, I hardly had pain and was already driving and going places 5 days post partum. THE OFFICE... Office staff was awesome, I dealt mostly with Dannielle. They don't call prior to confirm your appointment since it's just her in the office so I missed a few appointments. They were able to reschedule me rather quickly so that wasn't an issue at all. I highly recommend Dr. Tashman and his staff. This is an old school practice with old school charting system, old school furniture and old school OB. If you're an old school kind of preggo mama like me, this practice is for you.
